I reserved a sedan but Hertz gave me a Jeep Compass. They called it an upgrade and claimed was the smallest car they had. I was driving the Pacific Coast Highway and paying California gas prices. I did not want an SUV with clumsy handling that guzzled gas. Rental companies need to drop the idea that a bigger vehicle is an upgrade, it is not. I didn't get what I paid for.
