I’ve been renting from Hertz monthly for years. My local Hertz location (Signal Hill, CA) is particularly special- the most genuinely friendly and helpful team works there! They’re the main reason I stay with Hertz, even when prices may be a little lower elsewhere.
When I picked up my rental, the car was parked across the street and appeared dirty from the office. After I asked if it had been cleaned, the employee checked the vehicle, removed an item left by the previous renter from the trunk, quickly vacuumed it, and handed me the keys. Unfortunately, the car still smelled like smoke and had fingerprints on the screen and windows, making it clear it had not been thoroughly cleaned. Hertz could improve by ensuring vehicles are fully cleaned and inspected before the next customer arrives.
