I was very pleased with my first order from HGWalter.
It arrived at date / time expected.
It was boxed with lining and ice packs.
Ice packs were still frozen.
The meat was beautifully packaged.
Each joint individually packed and sealed.
The meat was delicious and very tender.

Outstanding Beef Wellington
Ordered two beef wellingtons with the red wine jus for a dinner party. The cooking instructions were spot on. The beef was cooked to perfection. From experience, the quality of HG Walter’s meat is always exceptional. On this occasion, the beef wellington with the accompanying jus was so delicious, it exceeded our expectations. Definitely will order the beef wellington again.

Inadequate packaging. Meat warm on delivery
My order arrived on time but was packed in a plain cardboard box with absolutely no insulation to keep the meat cool. It was warm and the vacuum seal on one of the packages was compromised. The condition of the meat (split pig's head) in that package was not good- the skin was slimy and the colour of the meat was off. I threw it away but the other items looked ok so I kept them. However, the smoked iberico bacon Is delicious. Not sure if I'll order meat from this company again.

Decent, but could be better
The sweetbreads tasted fine, but they were not trimmed at all; they all had fat and sinew still attached. Which is not how they are presented on the website.

It was a terrible piece of rolled…
It was a terrible piece of rolled beef; we thought ok on first appearance, as marbling present, but it was only surface deep - it had no moisture even though cooked pink rare.. and the fat was disgustingly gamey. That’s 2 out of four pieces of beef now that have been terrible.Give up!
