After spending a lovely week on Isle of…

After spending a lovely week on Isle of Skye staying in Portree, we were very disappointed in the state of the main roads In Portree to get back to our cottage. It was a case of trying and dodge the pot holes to get there, thought English roads were bad but nothing compared to these. All other roads on the island are brilliant but only bad in Portree why!!!

Officially Scotland's Worst Council

It comes as no surprise that this underwhelming council is rated the worst in Scotland, the entire region is in an alarming state, but it was during the recent snowstorm that we will really felt the brunt of it.
Years of swingeing cuts has left the regions infrastructure in a terrible state, and this was glaringly obvious when it came to the Highland Council's atrocious response to the blizzards.
Two roads were gritted, the A9 and the A99, that's it, that's all they bothered doing.
As with COVID the Highland Council decided it was going to communicate solely via Facebook and 卐 (formerly known as Twitter), leaving non-users completely in the dark.
When we ran out of food no help came, although we were given the address of a foodbank, which was, of course, impossible to reach because the roads hadn't been cleared.
I should be angry, but this is just business as usual for Scotland's worst-rated council and cesspit of nepotism.
It's a strange thing. Our roads and schools are crumbling, our public services are moribund, and the council seems to believe that supplying public transport for rural areas is some kind of indulgent aristocratic luxury that needs to be sternly discouraged for fear that we will all become pampered fops.
Much the same is true of their council housing stock, most of which is in a parlous state, although, to be fair to the council, those on the notorious 'Preferred Tenants List' do enjoy some terrific improvements to their homes, it's such a shame the rest of us don't qualify.
Oddly, there is always enough money left in the kitty to pay for councillor's taxis.
Funny that.

Consciously incompetent - whilst families suffer!!

I’ve have had the misfortune of dealing with this council while advocating for a veteran who was a victim of domestic violence. Instead of protecting them, the council wrongly branded this individual as a perpetrator. On the basis of fabricated evidence created by the council staff which was submitted to court, this parent has lost contact with their child - then bizarrely the highland council dropped the court case when the ‘evidence’ would be scrutinised.

Information commissioners office agrees that a data breach (in terms of information recording) has occurred and a complaint was raised more than two years ago, yet the matter remains unresolved. The incompetence is staggering, and the deliberate attempts to cover it up are nothing short of disgraceful. From what I have witnessed, this cannot be an isolated case.
If you have faced similar injustice, I urge you to speak out and share your experiences on platforms like this. Silence only protects those who abuse their power. By standing together, we can expose the truth and hold this council — and others like it — to account

It has already been voted the worst…

It has already been voted the worst Council in Scotland, now they have been promoted to worst in the UK. Their Councillors pervert the Course of Justice, and steal money from clients accounts, and refuse to rehome people.
