my shortest visit to an hmv store. within 3 minutes the music being played over the store pa contained the lyric "f* ck ing" multiple times. I asked a staff member politely if they would turn it off to be met with what i'd describe as an "attitude stance" and the reply "why"?
Why do hmv not have a staff guide policy in place to stop this happening, it's not cool when the shop has children under ten in the store
(funny thing, trustpilot picked up on the swear word typed above and initially blocked this being posted)

I always look forward to visiting HMV. I go looking for a vinyl album that I know I want, but when I leave the store I always have at least one other album that I didn't realise I wanted, that was until I found it amongst the huge selection in HMV

Refund policy needs reviewing!!!
Refund policy needs reviewing! I had a bad experience purchasing an item online. Travelled to the nearest HMV which was 6-7 miles away to seek a refund. Told at the till exchange or credit note. You can return via online, attempted this and you are charged more money £3-£4 extra to have shipped back to the company. What a load of time wasting, full refund should be given by the store, which is HMV. Tried to contact HMV directly extra charge to my phone bill due to 084 number. This problematic purchase has put me off shopping with the company.
After receiving a reply to my review it still is the case I mentioned. Awkward way of dealing with a return when most stores will and do returns to store FREE. Less hassle for customers and more likely to shop again with the brand. That reply just repeated what I said and offered no actual help. I'm sure a managers discretion at stores could be applied for sorting and dealing with returns.

As the store would have informed you; our high street stores are only able to offer exchanges for online orders and as such if you require a refund, you would need to return this to us. If the item was merely unwanted then there would be a service charge applied however if the item was faulty/damaged, the returns label would be pre-paid.
You mention attempting to call us, however please be aware that only our high street stores use 084 numbers. Our customer service team can be reached directly on 0333 3234 754 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. You are also welcome to contact us through email at website.service@hmv.co.uk.
We pride ourselves on the service that we offer but we rely on customer feedback in order to move forward and keep improving. We would therefore like to thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your thoughts.
