Still Waiting for a reply for the President of HNA Hospitality Group for the past two months
Firstly, let’s talk about the room amenities:
My room is a twin room and there were two bath towels in the bathroom, but only one place to hang them up after use. Should there be two places to hang up two towels?
Also the shower door was leaking water. After my wife and I had our showers in the evening and in the next morning, we noticed that the bathroom floor was wet and the water was leaking from the shower.
There was no shower cap with the amenities in the bathroom.
We were looking for the complimentary water which was not in the room. Also the complimentary coffee had no creamer to go with the coffee. The mini bar frig was completely empty.
The TV remote control was all in Chinese, so for a foreigner like myself, I had to play around with the control before I could figure it out, which was for volume and channel change.
The toilet in the room was blocked as it would not flush properly.
Also when I called the operator to get some information or inform them that safe was not working properly, they didn’t seem to understand what I was asking them. I got the message across after being put on hold and someone else took the call who could understand what I was saying.
Now for the F&B comments:
The dinner buffet which included a hot pot as well as some other dishes.
For the hot pot, the beef, lamb, seafood and dumpling were all frozen and placed on the table for people to take. Shouldn’t they have been thwarted out a little before placing them on the buffet table?
For the other dishes that were kept in on the hot plate where not hot. A best they were luke warm to cold.
For the salads, I was surprised to see bits of ice in the bowls of the salad vegetables. Shouldn’t the salad bowls be placed on ice to keep cool and fresh? Also there were not enough tongs for each dish, so people had to use the same tong to get the different salad vegetables. The Caesar dressing tasted a little bit off.
When we arrived around 6:30PM we saw some egg tarts on the buffet table. When we wanted to get them, they were finished and I asked the waiter for the egg tarts, as them in Cantonese and they told me to wait for 3 minutes. We waited for about 40 minutes and they were not replenished. I then asked the captain for the egg tarts and he checked with the kitchen and was told that they were finished. If it is a buffet, shouldn’t you have enough to keep going through out the buffet? If I had asked just before the buffet closed and I was given that answer I could understand, but not half throw the buffet.
When I went to the open kitchen to get some chicken, I was surprised that to get the black pepper sauce or the other sauce for the chicken, I had to use a tea spoon to get the sauce instead of a sauce ladle?
When we went down for breakfast the next day around 8:30AM, I saw some left over cakes from the night before with the breads, the croissants were stale. The breads for toasting had to go through the toaster machine at least three to four times before they became toast.
My wife and my brother’s girlfriend mentioned that the dim sum on the breakfast buffet were cold and not fresh.
The signs that were placed on the buffet table for the hot dishes during the dinner buffet were both in English and Chinese but the ones place during the breakfast buffet were all in Chinese, so I couldn’t read them. Some hot dishes had signs letting us know what they were and some didn’t.
Also there were few foreigners besides my brother and myself having the dinner and breakfast buffet.
Your website for the Tangla Hotel Shenzhen, doesn’t give enough information. My wife and I were looking to see of you have a gym or swimming pool and we couldn't see anything on the website. Also on your website to contact you for information, it only allows us to use 100 words that should not be the case. I need to post this letter to you, because of the restriction on your website.
Upon check out when I asked the receptionist to cancel my deposit on my credit card, she did so and gave me all the slips including the one for the merchant record and the banks records which I am enclosing for you so you may return for your accounts records.
