the days of using the excuse they come from china are gone. you can get lots of stuff for minimal postage. this is just HobbyKing ripping people off. there are plenty of genuine retailers out there. these are just grifters
Do not buy, These people are crooks!!!
These people are crooks. I made a mistake on an order and immediately requested to cancel as their terms state that within 30 minutes of order is OK to cancel. They delayed the response by 3 days and told me the item was already packed so cannot cancel, which was rubbish because the order was put on hold by someone within a few moments after my email so they definitely knew. After complaining via their online operative, I was advised by an operator called Rissa to just refuse the delivery and the item would get sent back automatically and I'll be refunded. This was 2 months ago now and they say still not arrived and refuse to accept responsibility, even if the parcel is missing then that should be a problem between them and Yodel, this is not my problem. I have paid for an item and never even seen it. To top this off, after 3 days of no activity on the messenger they try to close the case down, despite the ball being in their court for a response. This is surely a breach of trading standards??

Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 8S - AVOID
Good luck trying to find a way to charge the Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 8S 65~130C Lipo Pack w/XT90.
As it comes out of the box, the twin balance leads make it impossible to charge unless you cut off the two 4S connectors and rewire it with an 8s balance connector. Serial balance boards and connectors seem to have gone out of production everywhere so be prepared to Complete the build of the battery yourself - which will no doubt void the warranty too.
Infuriating Website and poor Stock choices.
Infuriating website. If you select the U.K. "warehouse" and then change the search criteria, it then defaults to all warehouses.
Why would i want to place an order split across the warehouses.
Even when on the UK. Warehouse there is a poor choice of stock.
I have been with Hobbyking for about 20…
I have been with Hobbyking for about 20 years in all that time no complaints, my last batch of batteries one was faulty.
I was a bit annoyed at them asking for so many photos but eventually got a refund they said it would be inconvenient for me to send battery back.
Today they sent another battery to me so pretty good service.
Avoid, Absolutely Appalling Aftercare!!!
Avoid, Absolutely Appalling Aftercare!!!
I have wasted a month now emailing this company trying to achieve a satisfactory resolution with their customer support service . . .
An absolute waste of time, effort and words.
They instigated a refusal to receive on my return with the courier and insinuated it was my fault???
Eventually offering a pathetic store credit and an unknown discount
code . . .
As if your actions would inspire the desire in me to shop with your company again . . .
HobbyKing have shown themselves to be an untrustworthy company who are happy to employ dirty tactics and lies to try to bully customers out of their hard earned money!!!
Avoid, Absolutely Appalling Aftercare!!!

On July the 27th I ordered some small batteries for £87 54p The delivery driver rang me to say he could not find my house . It transpired that the wrong post code was on the parcel. I gave him the correct post code. He said he would deliver them the following day. He did not and I got notification they would be sent back. I rand DPD but they said they could not change the post code, so they sent them back.
Since then emails have been going back and forward with no resolve of the problem. This company is a disgrace and should not trade if they treat their customers this way , no phone to speak to someone their chat line is not a person . Beware of this company.

First I was sent batteries bigger than the dimensions stated on the product page and 2nd they sent me the wrong voltage batteries.
When I wanted to return them they wanted me to RMA back to china factory which was going to cost me more than they were worth.
I contacted the support saying I'm not sending them to China why can't I send them back to the UK warehouse and they ignored my email.
I've just tried to order 2 Turnigy…
I've just tried to order 2 Turnigy batteries today. It stated I was £15 short of FREE DELEVERY. I added another battery ,making it 3 so thought I was eligble for FREE SHIPPING. But no ,went to check out and there going to charge me between £6-£8. I now will never use Hobbyking for any of my drone battery's or anything else for that matter. Total con merchants.
They ruined the uk hobby market
They ruined the uk hobby market opening a cheap warehouse here once they had undercut and wiped out most of the model shops they shut the uk warehouse and you had to use Europe now you cant use that and have to use the global one in china, however an order for one hundred pounds was four hundred and twenty just for delivery as it contained lipos as most items would.
Then you would probably get done for customs charges on top.
Still they where offering four pounds of the product !
Website is awful, customer service none existent.
Why they even bother sending emails to uk I dont know.
spares and parts never in stock.
They started off well but became unusable for uk just wish I had supported uk shops more.
After using them since 2017 have given up good bye hobbyking.
Item never turned up and that was my fault?
Item never turned up and they said they were not liable to refund because I chose a non tracked service. I told them that’s not how it works In the UK, where they are liable for delivering the item, but they weren’t having it. Luckily I paid using PayPal and they got my money back for me.
The experience started off pretty bad from the start, barely anything in stock, and wanting £200 to deliver some batteries.
I recommend if you do gamble with Hobbyking, use PayPal and at least you have a better chance of getting a refund that way.
WARNING
WARNING - I just ordered a Turnigy 20 6 cell 22.2V battery for £192.48. When I received the confirmation the shipping costs were quoted at £324.47. Since I had 2 Turnigy 4 cell LiPo batteries delivered a couple of weeks ago at a shipping cost of £70 I think misread the shipping cost as £32. I immediately contacted HobbyKing to cancel the order but they said it had already been collected so couldn’t be cancelled. FedEx denied having collected it but said only HobbyKing could cancel the shipping. Utterly disgusting and smacks of a total con! I have already been stung for £82 import costs for the previous 2 batteries. All I want is a refund as no one in their right mind would pay over £500 for a single LiPo model battery
This review is of the VOLANTEX…
This review is of the VOLANTEX TRAINSTAR EPOCH RC AIRCRAFT.
When I search Volantex Hobbyking comes up.
I’m assuming it’s their product. If not I apologise.
The one I bought (not from here) had a transmitter which, if you held a stick full over at any time for around 2 seconds, would reverse the distraction of all servos making you crash.
The rudder would suddenly shake on the ground or in flight with the gyro on or off. And the transmitter was not the one pictured in the included instructions not even having a model number.
When I contacted these people via their website “Volantexrc.eu” they claim all I have commented is not a fault, that they are not “Volantex” (despite their address being the manufacturer name and nothing else) and to be a Polish reseller.
They then advise me to contact Volantex giving no contact details even though they claim to be a reseller.
The Trainstar Epoch is available in different packages and I recommend buying it WITHOUT the TX & RX as I have had to replace them with Spectrum & Lemon.
I shall soon be posting a video on YouTube showing the radio faults.
There’s something very wrong here. These people claim not to be Volantex, use their exclusive name in a web address, claim I should contact Volantex but don’t give their contact details. And they deny the faults even when shown a video of them…
It’s a good airframe but the radios (I got) are faulty (and I have read other eBay uk feedback of buyers complaining of exactly what I have)..
Good luck..
The whole site is a scam
The whole site is a scam. They will not send goods to UK and ask stupidly high postage. Why they have a website is a mystery.
Extremely expensive delivery to the UK
Extremely expensive delivery to the UK. £40 for a single lipo battery? They force you to order from their Hong Kong warehouse so they can milk you through the delivery charges. AVOID!
WARNING don`t trust Hobbyking
Never purchase something from Hobbyking if your time and money is precios to you. It is nearly impossible to get a refund ore send something back. I have not recived my last order and am waiting for my refund since 6 weeks now. They are using delaying tactics.
Unfortunately I made the mistake to order something else while I was waiting for my first order. When it arrived in Germany I had to refuse to accept the package because of extra costs that where nearly half the price of the orderd item (Thanks to the brerxit at this point) this is now 3 weeks ago. It was not even possible to openen a claim on there website because you can only open a claim if you uploade a picture. How should I upload a picture of a missing ore refused item? This is another delaying tactic. The website by the way is one of the worst I´ve ever seen.
