Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 20 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about the extremely small fillings, noting that the pies and puddings mostly consist of thick gravy and heavy pastry rather than actual meat. People strongly mentioned that the portions have dramatically shrunk over time, leaving buyers with tiny, almost empty meals that lack proper substance. Some reviewers were not happy with the poor quality of the pastry, describing it as unusually thick, burnt, or having a strange texture. Consumers also pointed out that the food tasted completely off or unpleasant, making the overall meal entirely unappealing and not worth buying again.

Tasteless meat and potato family size pie. Admittedly not had any Hollands products for a while but this offering did not warrant the description as a pie. Very little filling and undercooked pastry.... See more

Meat and Potato pie disappointment

My husband remembers the Meat and Potato pies being really good. Unfortunately these pies were a big disappointment some cubes of Potato and very little meat in a very mushy filling. Doubt we will eat them, definitely will not buy again unless the recipe improves.

Not had a hollends meat pie for a while but they just don’t taste the same .pasty was nice but the meat tasted quite peppery like they were trying to hide the fact that the meat was not good quality anymore I was quite disappointed. The cheese and onion pies are much better

Well I'm vegan myself

Well I'm vegan myself. So get Hollands pies for my dog only. Having given my dog different Hollands meat pies. I'd probably say the 'Meat Pie' small round one gets devoured the quickest. Not a conventional review per se, but there it is.

What has happened to Holland pies

What has happened to Holland pies? I grew up eating Holland pies and they were famously great. Not now. I’ve never tasted anything so bad. That’s all the pie flavours. Are they using cheap dog food? 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Large pice of sharp bone !

My grandson found a large piece of bone in his steak and kidney pudding . Sent it back to Hollands who think that £10 postal order and an unwillingness to communicate is acceptable for this major choke hazard ….😡

Cheap rubbish

I have just had a Holland minced steak pudding and I have to say it was terrible. Why have they go a sweet taste? The meat was rubbish and tasteless with funny texture. I had a meat pie a while ago and it was like dog food. What has happened to Holland products? A tip would be charge more for the pies but make them like they used to, not by using cheap ingredients. People would rather pay £1.50 instead of £1.00 but get a really nice pie. A local bakers near me can do it so why can’t you? I pay over £2.00 for theirs but go back over and over again.

Don't be fooled by the picture on the packet.

Bought a 2 pack of Holland's peppered Steak pies, expected the pie to look a little like the photograph on the packet they where in. First time I had ever bought the pies and was so disappointed when it came to eating them. The filling was a beige coloured gravy with no pieces of steak, I would describe it as a load of tasteless mush, totally un-appetising. A week earlier I had bought two packs of holland's mince pies which were quite thin and again filled with a mushy gravy so due to the peppered steak pies showing a photo of pieces of steak and dark rich looking gravy I thought they would be ok. I won't waste my money buying Holland's pies in the future.

Shrinkflation rip off!

Got a pack of 4 meat and potato pies from our local Herons freezer shop.
£4 for 4, used to be £2!
Opened them up once home, the size of 2 pence pieces!
All dry pastry with no filling.

Holland's Pepper Gristle

I regularly eat Holland's Meat, Potato and Meat and Cheese and Onion pies, so expected the Pepper Steak pies to be on a parr with the other varieties.
My first pie contained one piece of steak and four or five lumps of gristle and a pepper flavoured gravy. I thought it may have been a one off and decided to try one more. The second pie was worse than the first containing only gristle and gravy.
The quality of the 'meat' (or lack of) was very disappointing. The rest of my pies are now in the bin where they belong.
I will never buy a Steak Pie from Holland's again as the meat content is disgusting and inedible.
