I wish I could give zero stars

I wish I could give zero stars! I took my son's vehicle (2021 Hyun Kona SE) in on Nov 1, 2024, was told a new transmission is needed. The car isn't that old but he has to commute from Homestead to Hollywood 5 days a week (so it had high mileage 112,000, at that time). I was told by "Julio" that he could apply to the manufacturer to assist with a portion of the costs (which was great!). Fast forward to June 27, 2025, the car is experiencing some of the same issues as before the transmission replacement. My son took the car early morning since he was in a hurry to get to work. He was informed he could not be issued a loaner car until they had run a diagnostic, nor could they facilitate a rental car.

I ended up renting a vehicle from a nearby Enterprise and my son was on his way. He got a call around 4pm stating he needs a new transmission and was quoted a price of $5k- plus. I was not worried, until I contacted service personnel "Humberto" who stated, "there is no warranty". Apparently, because the manufacturer paid a portion of the expenses from Nov 2024, for some reason this voids/negates having a warranty on the current transmission. Someone please, make it make sense! I paid out darn near $2100.00 for that service. Now a less than 1-year old transmission needs replacement?!! Hell to the NO!

I have reached out to Hyundai's Corporate Office; waiting to hear back from a Case Manager. In the meantime, I've filed complaints with the Florida Attorney General & FTC for deceptive business practices. At no time, was I told there would be no warranty or that the transmission may be a refurbished part (if that's the case; again, it's my understanding the transmission was new). I was under the impression (and was not informed otherwise), I was getting a brand new transmission with a warranty. This whole situation is outrageous and has left a bad taste in my mouth. And yes! My son has kept up with regularly scheduled service over the 4.5-years he has owned the car (which was also overpriced, varying btwn: $150 $500, $750 and $2100).
