My experience with Honey Bunny
I have been a loyal client at Honey Bunny for over three years, consistently scheduling waxing appointments every five weeks. Over that time, I have spent between $2,250 and $2,475 on services. Unfortunately, a recent experience made it clear that long-term loyalty holds little value at this business.
Due to an unexpected work emergency, I was unable to make a 5:30 PM appointment. I was fully aware of the cancellation policy, but the situation was truly unavoidable, and I reached out to reschedule in good faith. Despite this, I was charged a 35% cancellation fee — totaling $18.25.
What made this more disappointing was the fact that the technician had other availability that same day, meaning the appointment could have been rebooked. Instead of working with me — a dependable and long-standing customer — the salon chose to enforce a penalty without any regard for context.
Ironically, that charge ended up being a blessing in disguise. I’ve since switched to sugar waxing, and the difference is night and day. No more burns from wax that’s too hot, no skin damage from wax that’s too cold, and absolutely no post-treatment redness. The quality, care, and results are simply better.
It’s also worth noting that throughout my time at Honey Bunny, there was frequent turnover among estheticians, making it difficult to maintain consistent service.
While policies are necessary, so is professional judgment. In this case, the rigid enforcement of a fee over customer care demonstrated how little my business was valued. A single charge may have followed policy — but it cost them a loyal client and years of continued revenue.
