Great to awful
Previously great company with great shoes. I have bought my shoes in the shops, then online for years. No more
Cheaply made, poor quality and takes over a month for refund.
Awful
Very bad customer service
I bought some shoes in the past from Hotter in the US that were satisfactory and it’s very difficult to find flat wide-width leather boots so I went through the hassle of having boots shipped to the US and brought to Canada since Hotter does not ship to Canada. I’ve had a horrendous experience trying to get information about an order I made over the phone. I was charged for the order a month ago but never received any email confirmation of it nor the boots ordered. I spent endless amount of time on the phone with three customer service representatives who could not find the order and promised to get back to me and did not. The first customer service person was astoundingly rude, and was the one that did not send the email confirmation for the phone order she generated. The other two reps were nice but ultimately unhelpful and did not follow up as promised. I have just emailed the company and received a prompt reply, but the issue is not resolved at this point a month later. Do not recommend!
Talk selling your information
Wow! Talk selling your information
I bought one pair of shoes earlier in the year from hotter and now I am getting post, phone calls and emails nearly every day from multiple companies who all came to be their Sister companies and no matter how many times I ask, I do not seem to be able to unsubscribe or be removed from these lists. The shoes were great and yet, I wish I’d never bought them and will never buy from these guys again.
Avoid this company Hotter has gone…
Avoid this company Hotter has gone downhill since it was taken over. They are greedy and the quality and choice of their shoes is so poor.
Delivery and refunds take ages and now they are deducting. £7 -45 for postage!
As a long-standing customer I thought I would try one more time . Purchased two pairs of shoes both were poor quality and badly fitting so I returned them - saw no point calling customer care because it was clear that exchange was not the answer . Zips on trainers would not even move when on or off my fit -stiff and the other pair of court shoes were so baggy, I could not walk in them ! Customer care woman was condescending trying to put the blame on me the customer for not ringing them to arrange an exchange.
Why exchange if the product is so poor. I will go elsewhere .
Is a product in stock or not?
Twice told that the boots I ordered in November were out of stock with delivery date pushed back and back first into December and now January - despite the website showing the boots in stock when I ordered them and continuing to show they are in stock. It is very wrong to mislead customers money in this way. I have requested a refund and and now told it may take several weeks for the refund to be credited.
Not a good experience. Disappointed
I placed an order from their oulet on 14th November. Hadn't received it by 1st December so rang customer service number. I was told the order would be dispatched that day. It is now 8th December and still no sign of my order. Rang customer service again today and was told the shoes are now out of stock. I said I would like a refund which will now take 7-10 working days. Not happy and Very disappointing with Hotter . You have let me down badly.
Be warned!
Be warned!! Their website is totally misleading when it comes to refunds stating that £2.95 is deducted for returns. I paid £43.70 for a pair of boots which were too big and had to be returned They refunded me £36.25 and therefore, I lost out on £7.45. When queried they fobbed me off with the following: Evri costs, packaging costs, the value of the boots had been reduced etc. I think they made it up as they went along. Hotter Shoes are the most mean-spirited company I've ever had to deal with and will NEVER order from them again. A lot of customers are pensioners so do be careful.
Actually 0 as I haven’t had my order…
Actually 0 as I haven’t had my order despite having paid for it and have had no luck with the delivery service. So instant Hotter on a line that purported to be open 24/7 but is not manned at night so that statement is untrue. I haven’t about 6 hours to date trying to track the parcel I urgently need and as an old lady who is a good customer and expects decent service I am not very happy!
Hotter footwear have become colder!!!!
Have had several pairs of hotter shoes and boots over the years particularly Shake. However the pair I have just bought are far inferior to the others purchased. The quality of fit and material are nothing like my other pairs. They are stiff, feel uncomfortable and the soles and innards of sole have been reduced in thickness.
I object to paying the high postage only to find I have in fact paid for the inclusion of 2 unwanted, unsolicited advertising booklets weighing 165g!!!
I will not be purchasing anymore hotter footwear. What a shame
I’m extremely disappointed with Hotter
I’m extremely disappointed with Hotter. I bought a pair of shoes and had them delivered to my workplace — I never provided my home address. Despite this, I suddenly started receiving catalogues at my home address from Hotter and even from other companies like Woolovers. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious questions about how my personal data is being handled and shared.
I did not consent to any marketing, nor did I give permission for my details to be passed on to third parties. Hotter needs to take data privacy seriously and learn to protect customers’ information properly. I won’t be purchasing from them again.
Customer service irreplaceable by A.I
Hearty thanks to Jackie and Diana who are irreplacable by A.I
Hotter Shoes in Cambridge have once again
fitted me out in record time with a wonderful pair of water-proof boots which fit
brilliantly and crucially, were not made with slave labour in China but
at a properly managed factory here in the UK.
Thank heavens we still have a few decent businesses left like Hotter
which priotitise genuine customer service
and also products made in the UK..
warmest regards,

I bought boots from them
I bought boots from them, they were stiffy at first but fitting better day by day. Hopefully will feel comfortable after few worns.
Buyer Beware!
Had an awful experience with customer services. Short version- a pair of trainers I ordered online were way too big. I returned them within 2 days, ( received on a Saturday, returned on Monday), I was expecting a refund. After 2 months + (!!) I was informed that the trainers had been worn and I wouldn't get a refund! 1 trainer never even came out of the box I was so appalled by them. So had they sent me someone else's returned trainers? Who knows, I gave up looking for the 'fault' when they were eventually returned to me instead of my expected refund. I'd also written to the ceo twice but never even had the courtesy of a reply. I've purchased from Hotter over many years, never again. The trainers went to the charity shop!
Customer Service on-line Needs an Overhaul
My experience reflects what others have stated on line. I understand that Hotter's parent company went into administration and WoolOvers bought it in July 2023. Although some jobs and stores were saved, the customer service seems to have declined.
I ordered a pair of trainers on-line which never arrived so I emailed their customer service, twice, but no response so I called their customer service. The operative said the trainers were out of stock, (but they were in stock at the time of purchase) and would I like a refund but there was no apology on behalf of Hotter.
I accepted the refund but I was told it could take up to 10 days.....
Judging by the reviews for the on-line service, WoolOvers should really be addressing the issues raised because their loyal customer base just seems to be ebbing away.
Bombarded with marketing I didn’t request
This has been going on for months. This company does not get the message that I do not want any of their crap, ever! My parents bought some of their shoes a year or 2 back, because it was done online and they’re not particularly internet savvy, I ordered them on my card. They’ve been bombarding me with marketing crap ever since despite me never signing up to anything of the sort, they even shared my info with third parties. The snail mail post *may* have finally stopped but because I complained by email they’ve now added me to an email mailing list. GDPR seems to mean nothing to them
Frontier WP
I ordered a pair of Frontier WP boots and they arrived yesterday afternoon, next day delivery👍
On initial inspection I found them stiff and unyielding, but I’ve just arrived home from a 2hr dog walk and my feet where warm dry and very comfortable, the sole grip is very good, especially as wet leaves can be troublesome, I’m very pleased with these boots.
Great service in York - again!
We already know how much we love these shoes but Hotter in York has some great staff too! Visited recently and took a friend with me, introducing her to the Hotter store.
Fabulous service from Erica (again) who helped my friend with sizes really patiently. The 5.5 size was not in stock, but lo and behold, another customer brought a pair of 5.5’s back in perfect time for Erica to spot this happening and snap them up for my friend!
Thank you Erica. Hope you appreciates what gems you have in York, and this review makes its way to Erica in recognition.
Non-existent communication
I have been a regular customer of Hotter, until now. I ordered several pairs of shoes, one pair did not arrive. No email, but I noticed on the invoice it was delayed and it did eventually arrive. In the meantime i ordered a pair of slippers. After 4 days I phoned as I had not received anything other than the order acknowledgement. I was promised a call back, which never came, nor did anything else. 5 days later, I called again. This person told me that the slipper had been oversold and was no longer available in my size. I had to ask for the refund. Of course it too less than 24 hours to leave my account but will take 3-5 days to return so they have had my money for two weeks.
1) why does their system allow overselling
2) Why wasn't I notified about the problem
3) Why wasn't I called back
4) why wasn't my money returned automatically.
Not good enough Hotter, not good enough.
Edit: After another 8 days no refund had been received so another phone call made. The refund had still not been processed. It is lucky that I keep an eye on these things ... how many people don't realise a refund hasn't arrived?
A quick shout out though to Jackie who promised to speak to accounts and try to get an expedited refund. Jackie called me back, said she had done this and it was being refunded the next day. I received the money as promised.
Customer Service? Buyer beware.
We attempted to get in contact with Hotters via email, generic message back said to allow for upto 48 hours for a reply.
They never got back to us.
Emailed them again today but their address isn't found!
Unable to change( forgotten) password, to access account, after several attempts.
Customer Service?
Sadly the shoes weren't of a quality we are used to so we returned 2 pairs.
No acknowledgement of returns.
No refund.
Buyer beware.
Cirencester store I want to say such a huge huge huge…
I want to say such a huge huge huge thank you to the lady in the store who works on a Sunday at the cirencester shop, her kindness and helpfulness was amazing today. I think she's the supervisor, she has a Irish accent. She helped me try lots of shoes on and we then ordered them to come to my house so thar I can wear them round the house as I wasn't sure on one of the pairs. Again she was so kind.
