Howdens - High Wycombe Reviews 

This is a very strange company. Having been to see them to get a kitchen, the salesman told me that he couldn't give me the price until I'd paid a deposit. I told him that was ridiculous and that I wasn't paying a deposit to find out what the price was so I made him tell me. Then I asked him for an itemised list of what went into the price that he quoted. He said that he wasn't allowed to do that but on this special occasion he would give me a very high-level list. It comes back with just five categories: appliances, sinks and taps, some miscellaneous item for several hundred pounds (which was unexplained), and units. I wrote back saying that I needed a fully itemised list so that I could go through it and check each item because I didn't want to spend money unnecessarily. I didn't get a reply to that so I had to go through to the sales manager of the branch and request a new salesperson. The branch manager didn't give me a new salesperson. He referred me back to the original one and said that the original salesman would send me an itemised list. What turned up was just an itemised list of the appliances but nothing else. And even that list, he claimed he was doing me a massive favour and this was highly unusual for him to give a customer an itemised list. I've been back to him now and said that this company has to come up with an itemised list if they want me to spend a four-figure sum just on the deposit for the kitchen. Let alone a five-figure sum for the kitchen itself. This company is now in the last chance saloon as far as I'm concerned. I've had to be blunt with them: if they can't give me a detailed itemised list, then I can't have much confidence that they're going to be more responsive and open after I've paid my money and am financially committed to them. It's a shame as I had got them on my shortlist of companies to go with but this aggressive sales behaviour that they partake in has made me look at the wider market: companies that don't use aggressive sales tactics like these and are honest enough to give you an itemised list.

Massive thanks to all the team at Howdens Loudwater! Jazz designed us a beautiful new kitchen and utility. We are so pleased with it. He was really helpful and efficient throughout the process. We found all the staff here were very friendly and helpful, and were grateful to feel so welcome, particularly as we ended up spending ages in the branch over the course of the whole building project! Lovely staff - thank you to Martin, John, Chris, Shannon....I am sure I have left someone out but you were all lovely. Thank you 🤩 PS sorry it has taken us a year to write this!!

Huge volume of damaged goods. Deliveries missing several items although on delivery note. Had to reorder and exchange due to missing items and design issues. Some staff have done their best to rectify this. Overall been a nightmare which to be fair is not the normal Howdens experience. Still waiting for one item.

I come in on a weekly basis and it’s always a pleasure to see friendly faces. The service is amazing it’s like a little family. And the kitchen service department mainly the jazz man and the team have helped me through many difficult projects. Kind wishes to all the staff.
