Professional, welcoming, courteous.

Abysmal. Constant chasing from my end regarding updates. No urgency or empathy from the girl I dealt with. She seemed totally out of her depth. 2 months they tried to obtain a certain document, it took me 5 minutes to get it as I was fed up of waiting. Not once did this company apologise for how poor they were. I have multiple more examples. Official complaint has been made over a week ago and I’ve heard nothing back. Please avoid these jokers. Do your research and go elsewhere. Better still, employ a 5
Year old as you’re likely to get a more competent service. Shame on you Howells conveyancing team.
Edit 12/4/25 - Howells have apologised and offered some form of financial compensation.

Trying to get a retention fee paid back to us, but receiving no response from our requests. Poor service, would not recommend.

Kirsty and her team worked tirelessly to get me and my wife in our new house before the 31st deadline, I couldn’t have asked for a more professional service from all at Howells!

Excellent team all working with commitment and professionalism yet friendly and approachable.

This is my second time to use Howells for both purchase and selling of home (5 years apart) and it was an excellent service on both occasions.

Prompt and proactive - this really makes them stand out from so many others. I interacted online or by telephone with minimal requirement for ”wet ink” by use of secure and quality technology with no need for visits to them. They follow up regularly with updates so very helpful in knowing status and plan of action on day to day basis.

Howells were handling the purchase of my property for my buyers and were so difficult through the process raising questions last minute and throwing obstacles every day when we were trying to exchange. My buyers complained directly but this was so frustrating as it took 10 attempts to exchange contracts with different reasons each day to delay things. We were so disappointed it took the excitement out of the purchase in the end. Would avoid them if possible, very poor communication and deal with one issue at a time

We have sold and purchased/attempted to purchase 5 properties all with different conveyancers over the last 18 months. Howells were the only Solicitors that maintained good contact throughout the process, provided reassurance and clear, simple advice when requested. Honestly, Natalie Raker was a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend Howells. In comparison to the other companies we used, they set the bar far, far higher. All you could ask for from a firm at a stressful time.

Very very slow, passed from person to person and lack of communication. Didn't know we paid for searches, blame lack of staff and other solicitors for delays.Isn't it their job to chase, not ours?
Seem blissfully unaware of the move deadline, even though we have mentioned it several times.

Great service and Karl kept me informed all the way. A very safe pair of hands. Thank you.

Howells Solicitors is the best company we have ever used. They helped us when we purchased our first home and when we remortgaged 5 years later to repay our Help to Buy. The HTB process isn't the easiest but Howells made it seamless. Mick Fallon was the partner who supported our journey. He was very professional, always kept us informed, had a sense of urgency, and delivered on both our house purchase as well as our remortgage by the deadline. We would never use anyone else!
