My experience in relation to buying a Singer treadle sewing machine from
Don Campbell Trading As

what has turned out to be a machine that was ‘cobbled together’ from parts that are not appropriate for that particular model. Don Campbell has supplied three sets of bobbin cover plates, none of which fit properly.
In July 2023 he, without permission, took away the first incorrect cover plate, leaving me with a second incorrect bobbin cover plate in its place.
In February 2024 he provided the third set of incorrect bobbin cover plates.
On July 4th 2024 when I took the third incorrect bobbin cover plates back to his shop he snatched my shopping bag and took it behind the counter.
he refused to let me out of his shop,
he stood in front of the exit, barring my way, I told him I would call the police, he said go on then, so I did.
During my explanation to the police he moved away from the door, got my shopping back and threw it on the counter
After 75 emails back and forth; and ?? visits to his shop he still refuses to give me a refund for
He told me that he had worked for Singer for over 20 years. In hindsight perhaps I should have asked him what work he did there!
Would have given a lower rate if it were available
