Unfortunately the books arrived with damages to the corners and covers because the books were not individually wrapped or have any protection in the delivery box.

From the 4 books ordered, only 3 were delivered.

To return the books, I have to personally go to a store in person, which defeats the purpose of ordering online.

I've ordered a book on 14th Aug which was scheduled to deliver in two weeks. The deliver date was pushed back multiple times over the past two months and the cancellation email arrived earlier today stating 'Unsere Lieferanten können diesen Artikel leider zur Zeit nicht liefern'. This seems to be a vendor fulfillment issue and the listing is subsequently removed from the web store.

The book was supposed to be a gift which never arrived. It wasn't stated that the book was on backorder, and I would have looked for alternatives way earlier should I know the book is not avaiable at Hugendubel at the start. The entire waiting game with multiple delays is extremely frustrating and disappointing, and it shouldn't take 1.5 months to communicate about a product that never exists.

I made a big order (over 300€) of books and first it took a week and nothing changed on my order, so I messaged the support and they told me my order was shipped the day before, but I got no mail, no tracking number, nothing and the website still said the status: open. A day later it changed to "declined". So I don't know what's going on right now and it is quiet upsetting.

I just wasted at least have an hour trying to pay for an order as the site states it accepts PayPal.

According to the "small letters" below, it will only work when adding the order to the shopping cart and not with - buy now - but rest assured: I have tried both.

I even created an account just to see if it would make a difference.
Anyways: clearly all money is not equal.

It doesn't matter if you are ordering on line or going into a Hugendubel bookstore, you are guaranteed to get very good service and an excellent selection of books.

Fast delivery, reasonable postage rate. I found an obscure book on bird research that I did not expect to be available in Europe due to the small market, so thanks to Hugendubel for their wide range!

I ordered a Mandala book and a gift voucher for a friend to be delivered to her address. Mandala book arrived first with the wishes written on a piece of paper and a red sticker 5€ on top. The gift voucher arrived separately a few days later with the wishes written again on a piece of paper and the voucher had empty space instead of the name and wishes in it. It was supposed to be packed as a press tigethrr but non of it was. Not so smart. Will buy inside a shop next time and present it myself.

I ordered a book for my son that was required from his school and had a deadline on it. Order was easy, confirmed. But two days later my order was simply cancelled without further notice or explanation. I lost two days causing a lot of convenience. If Hugendubel didn't have it on stock, why was my order accepted in the first place? Not happy at all...

Reliable, on time. Very happy with their service.

Hugendubel was a very bright and welcoming bookstore with German selection of books as well as English ones. I liked the comfy chairs on the upper floor. I purchased two English books, one was a Japanese author and the second a classic book "The Medea", retold in the classic style. I was given a discount card for my two purchases. Staff were helpful and pleasant, reminds me of what is lacking in my Scottish high street as alas there isn't enough of these shops like this. Thank you Hugendubel for making my visit very enjoyable.
