Minus 5 stars if possible. I hired HPC almost 2 years ago, fired them 1 year later and I am lucky to say that I escaped with a roof of my head (albeit not built by HPC though, to much to ask). Others have not been so lucky and still have no roof or home to go back too. To all those out there who have suffered in silence, I say Sic infit!
PS. Hyde Park Developments is just a wolf in a sheep's costume.

We engaged Hyde park construction to do a large house project.

Clarke was really helpful in the planning process and helping us agree the specification - giving advice that helped us manage our budget resulting in us getting the finish that we wanted. Clarke also helped source items at a better price than we could have negotiated. Where we went above the original specification this was agreed and budgeted in advance.

Like all builds you need to manage the relationship - regular meetings, monitoring the project plan, timely decision making and milestone payments. We agreed how we would do this before we started and it worked.

We are really happy with the house that we now have and the best bit is where things come up (as they inevitably do in any project) Clarke sends someone over quickly to fix it for us.

Hyde Park Construction were paid to do a build for me, and they failed to build it, instead they took my money and ran. This has caused my family and I so much trouble, I can't even say. I have also heard that they have done this to many other people before and it seems to be their "standard operating procedure". For every one happy customer there are probably 10 unhappy customers.

We engaged with Hyde Park Construction to deliver on a time critical project... They not only delivered but went above and beyond to make sure we were presented with a refurbishment to a professional finish in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend using this company.

We took on a premises that was in awful condition. We handed the keys to HP and within a short period it was transformed! Every square foot, every detail, Really pleased. A year on from the project and customers still comment on how nice it looks

For anyone not used to this type of major building works in your home, it can be complicated and stressful process. Clarke and his team were always helpful and talked us through all decisions, challenges and problems, explaining everything, so that we made final decisions, as the end customer.

Hyde Park were fair with us, were good value for money and the end result, is fantastic.

Hyde Park Construction/Hyde Park Developments use high pressure bully tactics to extort and deceive as much as possible. I almost had a breakdown because of them. They will fleece you if given a chance.

While the builder stuck to the quoted budget and mostly completed the job, the experience was extremely challenging and stressful.

They initially agreed to everything we discussed, but changed things as the work progressed — often in ways that suited their convenience rather than the agreed specification. Payment was a constant point of tension: they repeatedly pushed for payments ahead of schedule, even when the work done didn’t justify it.

On several occasions they promised that tradespeople would be on-site, but no one showed up. Parts of the work were done incorrectly, not because it improved the build, but because it was faster or cheaper for them. The quality is only surface-deep — rushed and full of corner-cutting — and problems started appearing far too soon.

To their credit, they were willing to negotiate on costs when changes arose. But overall, it felt like their priority was to move their team to whichever site was shouting loudest, rather than to complete our project properly.

The project was never fully completed to specification or to a satisfactory standard, and it had a serious negative impact on family life because of the stress involved.

If you do decide to use them, my advice would be: watch them like a hawk, stand your ground, and don’t be intimidated by their aggressive approach to payments and timelines.

Avoid at all costs. Absolute cowboys.

I would give them zero stars if I can! I have also had a really terrible experience of Hyde Park Construction. They price low, then find lots of problems, then try to charge lots more money whilst never ever finishing any job. I hope no one else gets ripped off by them. Stay well away from Andrew, Clarke and Derek!
