After six months in the HyperionDev coding bootcamp, I've come a long way. I won't lie…in the beginning was tough. I felt lost and struggled with the material. But the moment I reached out to my codi... See more

The onboarding emails and live orientation session helped tremendously in setting up a GitHub repository and navigating the personal dashboard. The content and instructions that come with tasks are straight to the point and adequately detailed.

So far the course is very informing and all the lectures are very helpful and very knowledgeble in the lessons that they give us.

When i didn’t reach my pass mark, they don’t show me what did i do wrong
Or where i made a mistake

I am new to coding and I was intimidated by it. The course is designed in a way that gradually introduces coding and it actually gave me the confidence to actually learn about data science and look forward to the tasks that I had to do. This made my experience enjoyable thus far.

CAVEAT EMPTOR !!! NOT WORTH IT !!!
I have successfully completed the paid university version of the HyperionDev online Software Engineering bootcamp, and achieved 98% overall score/rating. The bootcamp cost were £4,995, paid upfront. I live in the UK, and I plan to work in the Tech sector in the UK too. I have an undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Russell Group universities. Prior to starting the bootcamp I would describe myself as an advanced user with tech aptitude and no prior IT or coding experience.
SIMPLY PUT: The bootcamp is not worth the paper the digital certificate can be printed on. The value of the HyperionDev SE bootcamp CONTENT vs COST is absolutely laughable. Limited very basic topics, no depth, lack detail. Self-study-wise - all you get for each topic is a 2-3 pages PDF, which they have clearly recycled from previous years without updating it - it sometimes references outdated Python versions, information, links that no longer exist or wrong repositories, i.e., Dropbox while you are actually using Github. Many of the PDFs do not contain the information you need to complete the compulsory tasks - so you end up getting your own study materials!
There are no pre-recorded lectures, no interactive lessons, no seminars; so the "study materials' you get consist of subpar quality PDF (I counted less than 85 pages in total to cover the 32 topics that the bootcamp consist of).
I understood and accepted that the bootcamp is self-study, but for the price, I have expected high-quality study materials, industry relevant marketable skills, and valuable credentials that will help me to get a job. This bootcamp will give you none of these.
It is not that the knowledge and the coding skills you acquire during the bootcamp are worth nothing - it is that WHAT YOU RECEIVE, LEARN AND WHAT SKILLS YOU ACQUIRE FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE ....... well, the joke is on me and anyone else who will pay for their "university bootcamps".
I understand that the bootcamp is aimed at new starters in the Tech industry, career changers, and generally at people having no previous IT experience, so it is not on par with an advanced degree. However, HyperionDev markets it as getting you industry / job-ready .... I now speak with personal experience so listen to this: YOU CAN GET MORE AT FRACTION OF THE COST AND FAR MORE VALUABLE CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATION ELSEWHERE.
codecademy, datacamp or EDX will give you much more, much cheaper and with better industry credentials.
I have learned much more on CodeCademy at fraction of the cost - 2 weeks into the bootcamp I have purchased £187 per year full inclusive subscription, and by week 4 what I have learned on codecademy was superior to what I "learned" with HyperionDev.
I did some research before enrolling in the bootcamp and there is fair amount of negative reviews on Reddit and some other portals. I took them with a pinch of salt, but I should have listen ...... they are spot on.
So, to sum up: you will learn some coding skills but for an absolutely ridiculous price (imagine paying £4,849 thinking you are getting the latest high-spec Macbook Pro but instead receiving 15 years old HP with Windows Vista).
With the benefit of hindsight it is clear that I would stay miles away from HyperionDev if I could and I am advising all others you might consider paying for their bootcamp - Caveat emptor!
Based on my experience I also cannot believe that Imperial College London, The University of Edinburgh and The University of Manchester partnered up with HyperionDev and let their names to be associated with these bootcamps. The amount of money they receive surely cannot offset the reputation damage caused - at least in my eyes. Huge disappointment.
That is all.

I’ve faced several health challenges since last year, which made it difficult to focus on my studies. I was initially worried about reaching out to the HyperionDev team to explain my situation, but their response was incredibly understanding and supportive .
They provided clear processes for pausing my studies and reassured me that I could resume when I was ready. This level of care truly shows that they prioritize their students’ well-being. Studying is already challenging, and life comes with unexpected ups and downs, but HyperionDev made sure that my education was one less thing to stress about.
I deeply appreciate their support, and I’m not sure many other institutions would have handled it as well as they did. Thank you to the HyperionDev team for making this journey a little easier!

This bootcamp has been nothing but encouraging to me. The tasks are fairly simple and yet challenging and this has also boosted my confidence. I have never done anything tech related and I was not used to using a laptop but as soon as I started everything has been going well. I met a few challenges with me not being able to submit my tasks but I reached out to the support team and they helped me through. It is a bootcamp I would recommend to any one at any day.

Truly enjoyed taking part in the Data Science Skills Bootcamp. Knowledgable and helpful tutors, supportive Career Centre advisors. In such a short time, I have learnt Python language and Data Analysis basics. I am very grateful for all the staff for their help and support through my learning journey. It changed my interests. I became more involved in coding and, currently, actively learning within AI sector.

I tried their free trial, some of the hyperlinks aren’t working. The code samples are displayed in black on a black background, so they need to be highlighted to be visible. If you’re charging people £4,000 for your training, the least you could do is sort out your website.

I started the Skills Bootcamp with Hyperion with some hesitation after coming across a single, rather negative review from a former student. I originally found the advertisement on Google and shared it with my colleagues at work. Three of us applied for the funded slots, and we were all accepted.
However, after reading that critical review, which painted the program in a very negative light, my colleagues decided to withdraw. For a while, I hesitated too, but then I met someone who had enrolled in the program a year earlier. Although he had to later leave due to work commitments, he shared a completely different, much more positive experience. That gave me the confidence to go ahead, and I’m so glad I did! My colleagues later admitted they regretted not sticking with it and are now waiting for another advert.
I have nothing but praise for Hyperion. I started with zero knowledge, and now I feel I have a solid beginner’s foundation in Data Science. The program is well-structured, and the learning experience has been incredibly valuable. They offer incredible support on recruitment mentoring.
I would strongly recommend the Skills Bootcamp with Hyperion to anyone looking to gain practical, industry-relevant skills!

I enjoyed the whole experience! The tutors are very patient and knowledgeable, and they provided support beyond expectations. All the lectures are relevant to the real world projects and the homework tasks are relevant to enhance understanding of the concepts. I enjoyed this bootcamp very much and hope that it would benefit other students.
