The car was fine and Iceland Car Rental was accommodating when we had a change of plan and needed the car for longer.
They also sorted things out after someone damaged the car while parked and we received our excess back promptly

Rented a car for a 9 day trip with the family, it was easy to get a car and seats for the kids. Car worked great, and the location is right by the airport which makes it even easier.

To start with, we did get the full insurance - and I highly recommend, as door dings seem to be pretty common in the windy country. Since we had insurance, we didn't have to meet anyone to do a walk around, the keys were in a lockbox that we could access whenever, then in the car and out on our adventure. When we got back, we handed over our keys, mentioned the door ding, and she just wrote it down, and then we were on our way back to the airport. All very quick and easy!

Everything went really well. The car we got was definitely battle-tested, but each scar was properly documented. Getting the car from the airport was super smooth and didn’t even take 5 min. Our little Dacia Duster 4x4 went like a champ through the highlands and the ring road, some fording included. Returning the car after our stay did go as smoothly as in the beginning. No hidden tricks or traps. Great experience overall!

Overall a very clean and comfortable car

Touring the entire Iceland for 3 weeks was great, but on the car rental part, the KN 4-wheel drive as suggested by the company was not fit for the remote unpaved main road at the North-western tip of the Island, ie the Isafjordur areas. The tyre bursted twice and the remote area support was not good. Also there was an electric wire loosing incident that all in all, deeply affected the driving experience. I still give a 3 star because there was a compensation from the company though it wasn’t good enough.

This is further written in reply to the Company Response given below that, every detail has been provided through the over 30 tedious telephone calls, WhatsApp messages and emails during the trip, and my stance by then has been clearly provided to the Company.

Easy pick up and drop off, everything was nicely explained, staff was very friendly and helpful! Car was in a great condition, and we also got a discount for chosen petrol stations! Definitely recommend!

Office is only a short walk (3 minutes) from airport arrivals terminal. Sales associate was friendly and very helpful. Cars and auto insurance was reasonably priced, actually much better than the bigger companies located in the terminal. Car drop-off was just as easy. Highly recommend this company.

Easy to pick up and return car. But rental is much much more expensive than Canada and USA. Spending over $600 CAD for renting less than 24 hours is ridiculers.

The staff was really friendly. Car pickup and dropoff was uncomplicated. No complaints at all.
