While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

TRULY A PROPER PADI 5 STAR IDC CENTRE…

TRULY A PROPER PADI 5 STAR IDC CENTRE MAKADI BAY RED SEA RESORT EGYPT

Owned & operated by Carlo & Erika this long established and PADI accredited full 5 Star Instructor development Centre (IDC) is adjoined to the Fort Arabesque Hotel & Spa, situated at south to base end of the "U" shaped Makadi Baby . (when looking out to the open Red Sea on the left side (north)

But should your stay be in one of the other hotels in that section of this wide yet sheltered bay, then access is no problem & from the most north side(looking across to the south of the bay I add) hotels on that left side of the bay. at most a 15 minute stroll along the mainly beach side footpath, with the odd treading on the sand
(The walk is all part of the experience for me, as I get to interact with the different hotel staff I pass (practising my poor Arabic in the process)

IDIVE is in scuba terms a" one stop shop"- because should you come well not qualified, no scuba equipment, missing or broken in transit scuba gear; Carlo/ Erika & the whole team have a super well maintained and more to the point modern equipment both to rent or buy out right

Qualification can be achieved from total beginner all the way up to PADI Instructor (Oh the latter has codicils etc details on application I add)

All PADI related courses require a health check and by looking on the super "revamped" IDIVE web site a standard medical form can be filled in and then should you need a "dive medical" before you dive, or when attending any PADI course (mandatory for PAD PRO); this can be done close to where you live in advance (a medical is valid for 12 months from date signed by the dive doctor)

Don't fancy SCUBA, no issue at IDIVE as snorkelling is encouraged.

Increasingly "Freediving" is proving a draw, no scuba gear just making use of your lungs fully. I DIVE has a whole team covering that also. Best dash off an e-mail to Carlo or Erika on that please

One can dive the bay from the shore or via boats from IDIVE. Visit snorkel specific locations via boat exclusive to IDIVE.

Want to visit a well known ship wreck (with guide mandatory)? Regular day excursions inc transport to the specialist dive boat to dive the Salem Express take place (contact Carlo for details)

So do book via the web site, full and up to date prices are published

Filling in the complete registration in advance is brilliant and saves time on arriving for your first day at the centre
(if like me you prefer not to attach the required documents in the registration document - send separately via your own email provider)

For Carlo & Erika, there is no such thing as a daft question, send an e-mail, OK!

For me well I'll shortly will be booking my 5th raft of scuba diving with IDIVE (cannot wait)

Oh' they speak Italian, English, French German , Arabic and many other languages

I guarantee having booked at some point Carlo will declare to you; "we/I am waiting for you" & it is truly meant :)
