I really wanted this to work for me...nope
I'm an iMazing refugee driven away after many happy years by outrageous new subscription premiums. And I'm not alone. So having long known about AnyTrans, I gave the app a try with great hope for a comparable experience. Other apps didn't offer wireless backups, which is a deal killer for me. Unfortunately, my experience with the app has been unacceptable.
On the other hand, Sissi and the very professional tech support team have worked so hard to solve my problems (listed below), even creating a special test version for me, which, sorry to say, didn't help.
So what problems did I have? Here's a list:
1. Air backups didn't work unless I restarted either the app or my iPhone. Then they happened randomly, sometimes requiring me to enter my password 3 or 4 times to complete. Plus, there's no way to schedule the frequency or time for backups.
2. After the initial full backup over USB, subsequent backups are supposed to just be much smaller incremental updates with new data. Wired updates were only 4.x GB as expected, but air backups were over 20 GB and took between 1-2 HOURS, during which time I couldn't leave the house. Not acceptable.
3. Each air backup replaced the one before it in the backup list so only one was ever shown. And when I logged into it, it was empty with no data. And I waited two hours for literally nothing.
4. I looked at the backup folder on my MacBook. The dates and times of the backups didn't match those listed in the app. iMobie explained that that's normal behavior...the classic "it's a feature, not a bug". Makes no sense at all to me.
So if others are experiencing the same things, I don't understand how AnyTrans can get any good ratings. And now I'm experiencing an existential crisis of trying to find a worthy and affordable replacement for iMazing that offers wireless backups that I can schedule and rely on. No luck so far. So I might have to eat crow and crawl back to iMazing and pay through the nose for now, with the hope that iMobie can get their act together and upgrade their product.
I should add that they were very generous and offered me a full refund without being asked. They’re a class act. I just wish their app was, too.

It got the phone unlocked, after several attempts of trying to get my computer to recognize the phone. Only problem I can see is I wish there was a way to save all the data that was on the phone.

AnyTrans worked for me
I needed AnyTrans for just one job to transfer my music library from an old iPod. When my old iPhone broke, I couldn’t restore my music files. I-Tunes had ‘lost’ more than half my songs collected over years. I thought I’d give AnyTrans a try because it came with a money back guarantee. It does what it says on the tin. The restore process was relatively straightforward and I was up and running the same day. Very pleased.
