Independent Reserve charged me $9!!.
That means they took 18% of my withdrawal amount as fees. For comparison, here are some typical fee structures from other exchanges:
Coinbase Pro: Around 0.5% per transaction.
Binance: Around 0.1% per transaction.
Kraken: Around 0.16% per transaction.
Let's put this into perspective:
At 0.5% (similar to Coinbase Pro), your fee would have been $0.25.
At 0.1% (similar to Binance), your fee would have been $0.05.
So, Independent Reserve is charging you nearly 36 times more than Binance and 30 times more than Coinbase Pro for the same service. This is not just a rip-off; it's borderline predatory.
You might want to consider switching to an exchange with more reasonable fees unless you have a specific reason to use Independent Reserve, like better security or unique features that offset these high costs.

I didn't use the site but a scammer I met on Tinder tried to make me sign up and invest. Can't say I'd trust a company that uses scammers to drum up business.

The bitcoin withdrawal fee is a fixed amount that helps cover several costs, including the gas fee, infrastructure, network, and API fees.

I entered the crypto market in 2017. I opened accounts on several trading platforms but Independent reserve was the only one that gave me full confidence in its security, stability, management and ease of use. One transaction sent to my wallet, then account restricted then closed not long after, whilst my colleague and sibling did the same as me , and still continue to do so , I can put my hand up and acknowledge that I purchased the crypto to fund my external wallet to gamble. I,m more confused as opposed to thinking negatively, of the ,platform, I don't mind the judgment just be nice to know why , so it doesn't happen again.
