Company's response to my poor review

I had left a poor review for this company on Check-a-Trade. They'd initially given a very high price for an urgent boiler repair; when I refused it, they lowered their quote twice. My usual plumber, who hadn't been available, then did the job on Sunday, for one-third of Instant Home Repairs' first quote.

My review was due to the repeated reduction in price, which suggested their original one was exhorbitant. When Check-a-Trade published it, I had a phone call from Samuel, objecting to the review without stating any grounds for his objection. He wasn't aggressive, but he was very persistent, I think with a view to my withdrawing the review. After going round in circles for some time I ended the conversation.

Not a plumber

Beware! It's not a plumbing company, all they do is they call your local companies to find a plumber who comes and fixes the problem (in total I was charged £240 for a 45 minute job). The instanthomerepairs247 charged me £120 straight away seemingly a deposit and didn't make it clear especially with a broken line it does not go towards the job needed. They just take advantage of you're being in distress with water leaking through your seiling and not having any time to read a small print on their website. Just keep calling your local plumbers and save your money

Beware

Used this service today , they asked 120 pounds for urgent leaking radiator repair.
Was really surprised when the arrived pllumber charged me 120 more for his 50 mins job.
So be aware you will be charged twice - and those guys will charge you before the job is done ( invoice by email) .
Please, even if the matter is serious , try to find local plumbers ( thats exactly what they did after all ).
Not a scam , but really close to it ( as you need to read the terms on their website , with leaking radiator in your living room )

Misrepresents as a plumber

This company presents itself as an emergency plumbing service. It is nothing of the sort. They will send you a quote for a "callout charge", which turns out to be an agent/finder's fee. They sent me a third party technician who asked for a callout charge, and when I told him I already paid a callout charge he said he just got a phone call from InstantHomeRepairs, he doesn't work for them and they don't pay him. Their Checkatrade page explicitly claims their own people do the work. They don't.
Bottom line... they charged me £120 for a phone call.
