I HATE Quickbooks
I hate Quickbooks, HATE IT, with a passion. In 35 years of using account packages, it is by far the worst that I have ever had the misfortune to use. And I only use it because my new client has it and wants to continue with it. But I will transfer them to Xero as soon as I can. Doing the simplest things is a challenge. I only use it once a month, and have had to draft a memo of intstructions on how to do things, because it is NOT user friendly. It's a prime example of a tool that was developed by techies, with techies in mind, rather than users in mind. For example, I am here trying to add a new bank account. The online guidance tells me to select Settings/ChartOfAccounts/Bank - but there is no "Bank" ! The subsequent instructions are therefore invalid. A truly awful product
Stay away
I've been using Quickbooks for the first 6 months of my self employment and cannot quite express how much more difficult they have made it to keep track of my finances. Bank transactions do not sync, invoices are never recorded, customer service offer discounts then take full payment, then offer refunds but don't refund, it's exausting. I've spent hours on the phone to customer service, who although are incredibly apologetic and nice, only offer long winded solutions that require me to disconnect and reconnect my bank account. Many other friends in the industry spoke positively about QB but have also said recently that the service has dropped. As a small sole trader, you would be far better off staying away.

My tutor was extremely helpful to a 70 year old woman who is not technically literate at all.
He was patient and tried to explain to in simple terms all the necessary information.
Payroll Issues
I had a number of payroll-related issues, and the Customer/IT Officer provided excellent support in resolving them. She patiently guided me through the process and showed me how to manage similar situations in the future. Her assistance was timely, professional, and incredibly helpful at a critical moment of need.
Helpful support
I recently had cause to phone the support line to resolve a relatively complicated issue with payroll. Cassandra was extremely knowledgeable and professional and was able to correct the error efficiently.
Very helpful and friendly
Update has ruined it
I’ve been using this app for several years without a problem and following a recent update it’s becoming unbearable.
I called customer support and they tried to help but they didn’t understand my problem in that the system I’ve been using for years has now become unintelligible.
I’ve called customer service several times and the rep has always been very helpful, very polite and unable to understand the problem.
The fact that the default email message to clients on invoices begins, ‘Hey’ is a bit of a clue to the quality of the system.
I’m now looking for a different system.

Not user-friendly
I didn’t find the software particularly user-friendly. And when it came to cancelling there was no easy online option. I had to phone up and spend 10 minutes on the phone explaining why I wanted to cancel!
Appalling in every way sadly. Used to be so great.
I've been using quickbooks for my clients for years. I was forced to abandon the desktop version when they disabled it in favour of online which is slower, clunky and horrible but I had zero choice. A problem came up on Friday morning where I was unable to complete a bank reconciliation without linking the client's bank account with quickbooks - something I'm not prepared to do for any client. I tick off against the physical bank statement then reconcile but suddenly find I can no longer do that - the 'reconcile' option is not available. Having called Intuit and spent a lot of time talking to someone who clearly couldn't help, my complaint was escalated and after a longish wait I was connected to someone with more expert knowledge. We had barely got into trying to solve the problem when I was cut off. Nobody bothered to try to get in touch with me despite knowing I couldn't call them back without going through the entire procedure of speaking to someone on the first line of the helpdesk, going through it all again and trying once again to be connected to an expert. At that time I didn't have the time to go through it all again starting from scratch so will have to start again tomorrow (Monday). I'm totally disgusted though that the person I was speaking to at Intuit, who HAD my phone number because it's part of the account, couldn't be bothered to call me back. This software is a pathetic shadow of its former self, as is the customer service which used to be among the very best. They're keen on the word customer clearly, but a lot less keen on the word service.
EDIT: I finally had a call back, and the person I spoke to confirmed that it is no longer possible to reconcile a bank account WITHOUT connecting Quickbooks direct to the bank. This major change has been made without consulting their customers, and without prior notice. Absolutely shocking. In these days of increasing fraud, why anyone would be willing to share access to their bank account is quite baffling to me.
As a small business owner I need…
As a small business owner I need something simple to manage my accounts. The opaque language, unintuitive user journey, and clunky dashboards make this nigh-on impossible in Quickbooks. The irony of the company being called "Intuit" when they've created something so dastardly to navigate is ridiculous 😂

Customer service is a nightmare
I signed up to try out their QuickBooks and Payroll, but a couple of hours later realised this is not a best fit for me. I cancelled my subscription, asked for my account to be deleted and a refund. It took over a month and dozens of emails to be issued only a partial refund (I am not sure why it was only partial). They were replying from no-reply emails with irrelevant answers and excuses, forcing me to go through their contact forms every time. With regard to my data deletion, I received an email saying that my account has been deleted, but I must separately request deletion on their partner portals. I emailed the complaints department to address those issues, as it was the only email address I could find on their website (you can't contact them otherwise until you are a paying subscriber), and they too are an absolute nightmare to deal with, always replying from a no-reply address with unhelpful replies and not addressing all of my (three) questions.
Thank you Fritz for helpful session

Brilliant support from the QB onboarding team Fretzie was so knowledgeable and supportive and gave great tips on how to use QB tailored to my business type.
What a fab service
What a fab service! Daryl was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with me as he guided me through invoicing, MTD and ensuring I was confident with the other elements of the service that I had already worked through myself ahead of the meeting.
I highly recommend it.
So far I have found QuickBooks very intuitive and simple to navigate.
QuickBooks Excellent Tool & Excellent Service
QuickBooks has been an excellent tool for managing my business finances. The platform is easy to use and keeps everything in one place. When I needed help, customer service, especially Aneesa Umbreen, was very helpful and resolved my issue quickly.
