Our initial dealings with Issuu.com were acceptable, but starting at the beginning of 2025 their features have been malfunctioning on our end and for our readers. Topped off by very POOR tech support – we had previously experienced okay (not good or great) customer service – all while paying Issuu over twice what we previously paid per month.

Title: Refund Took a Month – Lost $140 Due to Exchange Rates, No Accountability from Issuu

I started a free trial of Issuu’s Unlimited Annual plan in March. Without warning, I was charged $2,259 USD on April 14. I submitted a refund request the next day and received confirmation that the refund would be processed in 7–10 business days.

However, the refund wasn't completed until May 13, nearly a month later. Because of the delay, I lost TWD 4,471 (approx. $140 USD) due to exchange rate changes.

Issuu refuses to take responsibility, saying they don’t cover currency losses — but this loss was caused by their delay, not the refund itself. I’ve provided all documents, including their own promise of the 7–10 day refund window. They’ve ignored the issue.

This is deeply irresponsible behavior from a company that handles international transactions!

I've used Issuu for years to publish a parish church magazine. I've just logged onto my account to find that they have restricted the number of pages to 10 on users' free accounts. All of a sudden, all of our publications are classed as too long. THIS WAS WITHOUT ANY WARNING! As a charity, we cannot afford the fees Issuu charge. This is very poor business practice and shows little care for their loyal users.

I have been unable to contact anyone from ISSUU. On May 16 I was charged $2259 for a subscription renewal which in previous years was UNDER $399 - I have bank details. I need a refund of $2259 and any further business with ISSUU cancelled. I have contacted my bank and thought they were returning $$ but now want verification and bank statements etc. which I have for two years of mistakes. If I have an email to forward all of the documents to I would do so. I received an email at 12:21 AM (note AM) on 5/16/25 that my account was up for renewal and two minutes later (12:53 AM) another email saying you had my account number and no worries you had just charged me the invoice - 4 almost 5X the amount - of $2259. I have NEVER authorized this kind of renewal and to not give any notice BUT 2 MINUTES and then charge my account is very poor communication. I am forwarding today proof to my bank with all documents so they can dispute but it would be nice if you just handled this.
Paid in 2023 under $399
Paid in 2024 without notive $528 and an email from ISSUU said they would refund $154 (never received so I overpaid $154)
PAID $2259 by debit card on 5/16 with a two minute notice of the charge in the middle of the night on 5/16/2025. I've been trying to reach out to ISSUU with no luck and about 10 days ago filed a dispute with Huntington Bank but just received a letter to send them proof - which I am dropping off today. IF I DO NOT GET A REFUND THIS WEEK MY ATTORNEY WILL TAKE THIS UP. TRIED EMAILS on 5/16 and 5/19/25 AND 4 DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBERS.

This is a subscription trap - you follow the process to downgrade to a free account and get charged anyhow - then you cant get help

I've been using ISSUU for a client for several years without any issues.
However, in later 2024/early 2025 the company changed their price/features plans in such a way that we needed to pay around 10x more (!) just to keep using the features we used to enjoy before.
Changed everything to FlipHTML5 and I'm a happy camper now – I even benefit from having a subdomain for my client's magazines, at no additional cost.
ISSUU no longer makes sense when there is competition with similar/better features and better (and more transparent) price structure.

Scammers, they withdrew my 297€, don't put your card information.

After several years of using their product, I am shocked by their business model that does not sacrifice existing customers for a single thought. An increase in price from 480 USD to 2259 USD is completely idiotic, and without comparison the worst thing I have experienced in a business context. And then saying that they have sent out a warning in advance is just bullshit, no email has been sent to us, and they do not respond to inquiries or complaints. They should have been punished and removed from the market, I hope ALL customers who are there, or new ones reading this, STAND AWAY from Issuu, because there are alternatives. If it were possible, i would like to meet the manager of the company in person, fraud should not be rewarded...

I received an invoice from Issuu for over $2,500 USD for an Unlimited Annual subscription that I never signed up for. I have never used their service, never agreed to any charges, and suddenly received a bill stating it was past due the same day it was issued. This is alarming and unacceptable.

I've reached out to their billing department for an explanation and cancellation, and I'm waiting for a response. If this was a billing error or someone used my details without consent, it raises serious concerns about account security and verification practices at Issuu.

Until this is resolved, I strongly advise others to be cautious and monitor any emails or charges from Issuu carefully—especially if you’ve never interacted with their platform.

I had an annual subscription for 280usd and issuu withdrew 2.259 euros to renew it !!!!!!!
Now their e-mails respond that they are no longer in use and suggest to fill in forms in their site
When attempting to fill a form with refund as a reason, I am excluded from the form link and redirected to a page stating they do not accept refunds after 30days and that they informed about their new policy 30days prior to renewal (NEVER DID !!!!!)

Absolutely horrible! I followed instructions for the downgrade and refund request but no resolve. I submitted an online form and keep getting an automated reply that does not address my refund issue. This company is a ripoff with piss poor customer service!

Absolute rip off & difficult to use. They charge a lot or extra for every single little aspect of making PDF look like a physical book - is this what we've come to? I recommend far easier and cheaper options like Flippingbook.

I was charged $249 by Issuu without any prior notice—no reminder about an upcoming renewal, no warning of a massive price increase, and no chance to opt out. This kind of sudden withdrawal feels deceptive and completely lacking in transparency.

What’s worse is that there was no communication about the hike from previous pricing tiers. I had no idea I’d be billed this much, and their support has been less than helpful in resolving the issue. This feels like a predatory billing practice, and I honestly believe it's a scam disguised as a platform.

I do not recommend Issuu to anyone, especially small businesses or creators. Their lack of basic customer courtesy and billing ethics is appalling. Be careful—read every fine print (if you can even find it), and do not trust them with your payment info.

Issuu unilaterally changed my plan from $50/month to $270/month after discontinuing the package we had been using for our customers. They did not make a genuine effort to notify me in advance, and I was only made aware after being charged significantly more — an additional $750 in total.

I raised a complaint and received only a small refund, which does not come close to covering the excessive charges. This feels like a clear money grab, and it’s disappointing to see a company operate this way.

I strongly advise others to avoid Issuu.

Renews automatically at THOUSANDS of dollars w/o notification... they just expect you to know and be ok with it.

I got answers for everything I ask, really fast!

Typically I would not leave a bad review, however as of recent there has been a lot going wrong...
1) it's been over 8 hours (full working day) and can't upload anything successfully -- this is a MAIN component for the service. Support has been unhelpful and ignored me.
2) they sent a generic email regarding automated renewal... however, if you were to ignore this as per usual, they were going to charge 1000% more than my typical annual fee (only with an email notification!). Quite shocking.

For years, me and many of my clients use Issuu. They have been unaware of significant forthcoming price increases, until I informed them way before Issuu would. I had an account a year or so after it was founded in 2006 and have remained loyal ever since, that is, until now! I am genuinely shocked, which, from feedback, has caused stress, anxiety and worry for many. Unless Issuu does an immediate U-turn on its pricing and plans, users will be better off finding another provider, and with one who puts its customers first. I've been back and forth with support for 3 weeks and they fail to action a simple request of adding a user to the group (received an error when trying to do this)
