Very poor lift maintenance and reliability

Our experience with lift maintenance at 10 Prebend Street / 51 Packington Street, London has been extremely disappointing. One of our lifts was out of service for approximately seven months, during which a repair costing £110,000 was quoted and carried out. Unfortunately, the lift failed again within just 10 days of being fixed.
To make matters worse, the second lift has now also broken down, leaving the entire building without any functioning lifts.
Overall, this reflects very poorly on both the quality of the repair work and the ongoing maintenance support. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution others before using this company.

APPOINTMENT MADE AND NOT KEPT BY JACKSONS

Didn't turn up for appointment to service my lift, I stayed in all day - no contact made. I rang them at approx 4.20 pm was put on hold to the "mobility" department, call not answered - told someone would ring me back. I have previously had good experience with this company, but think this is out of order as you get a letter stating you must allow access - how about they turn up. Looks like I will have to call again on Monday as its Friday pm and will be contacting my Housing Association on Monday who have given them this contract if I do not get satisfaction. At present my stairlift is working but I really cannot get upstairs without it - so need it to be reliable

Awful!

Over two weeks since the elevator in Shinwell house stopped working and it's still not fixed...and this company claims to be the best available?

Awful money-grabbing company

Absolutely terrible company. Our elevator stopped working. Jackson would send an engineer, they would see no fault codes, reset the lift, ride it once, lift works and leave. Then it would break down 2 hours later and this cycle of Jackson resetting the lift and it breaking again in 2 hours would repeat 10+ times over a period of a month. Engineers would come and have no clue what other engineers did or even care to look that it already broke 10 times. We used Jackson as part of our HA Hyde. Awful contractor avoid at all costs. Another contractor identified the issue in one visit, ordered replacement parts and fixed the lift.

Rubbish company - the worst.

They came out to repair my stairlift. The engineer was completely incompetent and didn’t even know what to do at the beginning so nothing got done. This company were sent out via my Housing Association as the warranty had run out on the stairlift. I ended up paying the company who installed it to come out instead.

Reckless, Aggressive, and Unprofessional – Avoid This Company

Absolutely appalled by the behaviour of one of this company’s drivers. The vehicle with license plate BD73 FVK was being driven recklessly—cutting me off, swerving dangerously, and nearly causing a crash. To make matters worse, the driver was smoking while driving, flipping me off multiple times, and shouting profanities in an incredibly unprofessional and aggressive manner

If this is the type of person they allow to represent their company on the road, I would strongly advise against doing business with them. Completely unacceptable behaviour—avoid at all costs!

Rubbish so far

Happy to amend this review once you get things sorted - Service so far has been dreadful despite paying for the top platinum package which seems to mean nothing - we were under the impression it covered general repairs and labour. No sense of urgency or decency in getting things sorted for our block.

Jacksons did a basic repair replacing the door belt and within a couple days the belts motor broke putting the lift out of service, which is now costing us thousands to repair despite it seeming very likely they caused this damage in installing the belt incorrectly. We have been a month and a half without a lift now - Jacksons response is effectively "that's just how it is". None of this is covered under the platinum package due to their small print (they can basically class anything as an "upgrade" to avoid calling things a repair - and then you pay for all parts and labour). Really frustrated, disheartened and unimpressed so far by this "family run" business. If you can get things back working I'd be happy to revise this review on that basis.
