James Smith has gained quite a following on social media, especially for his fitness and wellness content. I have avidly followed him for a year or so before taking the plunge and joining his 12 week challenge. His challenges are known for providing guidance and motivation to help people achieve their health and fitness goals, but so are others in the fitness industry. I’ve always struggled with nutrition and fitness and never stuck to something I’d committed to, so I was a little bit sceptical.

The change in mindset around nutrition and fitness has been an absolute game changer for me and one I feel will stay with me forever

The amazing coaches had a significant impact on me in the fitness challenge. Their expertise, support, and guidance helped me stay motivated and make progress towards my goals.Their advice on bad days or if I had an event like a holiday coming up helped me to stay committed and make the most of the opportunity. I have ‘found myself’ again, and this is down to the outstanding support you get from the coaches!

I am a ‘new mum’…he’s over a year old but he’s my first. And I genuinely lost myself, As many mums do, you give everything to your child and you are put on the back burner.

But whilst travelling, I decided enough is enough and I am going to commit to JSA. I wasn’t happy in my body or mind, and I’m about to embark on an amazing journey of travelling with my Husband, son and dog! I want to be the best version of me to get the best out of the experience.

Not only have I lost 4.5kg in 5 weeks from the calorie deficit, meal ideas, awesome workouts and the amazing support from coaches. I have ‘found myself’ again, and this is down to the outstanding support you get from the coaches, this isn’t just about losing weight and spamming everyone with before and after pics. I have been given other tools by the coaches, sent in forms of videos, podcasts, personal experiences or thought provoking questions!! Its really clear that the coaches are passionate about physical and mental health and I am beyond grateful for them these last few weeks.

Small money investment for tools I can implement for life. Just sign up!

Oh and the Facebook group is ace, it’s great to have like minded people to chat to, support and praise each other!

JSA Challenge April - July 2023

I highly recommend taking on a JSA Challenge. At first thought it wouldn’t work as I was able to eat more calories than I thought would work and it took a few weeks to notice any changes. However, it turns out what consistency is key to making changes and I have lost a stone and a dress size and gained muscle tone without feeling like I’ve had to make big sacrifices. One of the best things about JSA is that you don’t feel like you’re doing it alone, the coaches are on hand to cheer you along, make suggestions and keep you accountable. It’s been so good that I’m going to do another one!

JSA 12 Week Challenge- April 2023

I joined the JSA challenge after following James on social media for a while. I love his no BS approach, his simple way of explaining calorie deficit and training. His books and daily emails were changing the way I was thinking and approaching my life and decided to take the jump and join a challenge. It has not disappointed!

The challenge itself has been absolutely fantastic, the training programs change every 4 weeks and are completely customisable the coaches are fantastic at listening. Along side the training support we also have the support of the coaching team that check in weekly the team are just so lovely they listen and help you reflect on the week things that worked well and maybe things that didn’t go too well they are non judgmental, supportive and approachable! Responses are so fast it honestly feels like I’m catching up with friends!
The Facebook group is great, Fi and Stu run bi-weekly live sessions that are so lovely to join or catch up on. They both have great advice answer any questions and are always on hand to give some lovely support. The support from other members on the Facebook group is really lovely, everyone support’s everyone’s goals and cheers for each other’s successes. It’s a great community to be apart of.

The app is great, easy to use, the time effort and love that has gone into building the app is outstanding.

If you’re on the fence about a joining a challenge, take the jump and join you won’t be disappointed if anything you’ll be irritated you didn’t do it sooner!

The coaches have been so supportive..

The coaches have been so supportive... more like life coaches to me. Iv had a rough time recently.. emotionally and they have always been there. Can't thank you all enough. Also the training... iv now got back into it.. thought I was getting too old and passed all that but I'm enjoying it all again. Really happy with the whole process and thank you!

You won’t regret it!!

I wish I’d of signed up to JSA months ago!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!!
I’ve come so far in such a short space of time!! Before JSA I had no structure, I was just lifting dumbbells for the sake of it and bouncing from one “fitness app” to another getting nowhere. JSA gave me a structured workout plan that I absolutely love!! I’ve realised in the past 7 weeks my form is getting better and I’m enjoying sweating my ass off for 45 minutes.. yep 45 minutes (4x a week) and I have a killer workout, and if I don’t like something the coaches change it.. It’s a win win!!
The coaches are awesome and wont let you do something if they don’t think it will work, they absolutely don’t want to see you fail which is great especially when you’re trying to rush things, their advice is solid and honest.
They want you to be the best you can be and will push you in that direction.
You can reach out at anytime to the coaches, and just have a chat and a laugh which is awesome, who wants to serious all the time right?
You become friends with ppl you never even met, and they listen to anything and everything.
At the very beginning of my journey I moaned and bitched to the coaches relentlessly 🤦🏻‍♀️ but they never gave up on me!
So if your looking for some solid honest mentors then look no further, you’re at the right place with JSA.
So, if you’re still thinking about signing up.. my question is.. why you thinking about it ? DO IT!!! you won’t regret it 💪🏻💪🏻

Sign-up because of James Smith; stay for the coaches!

The environment that James Smith has created with the JSA and community of coaches within the app is nothing short of first rate. The approach is different to anything I’ve tried before, and the app has a unique way of capturing all the data as well.

Yes, you get a calorie and protein target and yes, you get a training programme all based on your goals (mine was to lose fat) but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I’ve struggled with my weight for many years and have succumbed to periods of bingeing over that time. The nutrition / lifestyle coaches are simply experts in their field. I have no idea of their formal qualifications, but they have been amazing with me. They understand and listen, albeit through a messaging interface, they encourage, but more importantly, they have created a method that works. The calorie deficit is not as severe as others I’ve been set and it’s been easy to stick to, as is the protein target. I’ve lost 6.5kgs so far in this eleven week period (it’s a twelve week challenge) but it’s all been achieved in a completely free and easy way. They’re super responsive and always with great advice and encouragement.

The strength training programmes are excellently put together and the coaches are very quick to listen and respond when you need something tweaking or a bit of advice about part of the programme. I’m lucky that I’ve got access to a gym and it’s tailored for that environment. The programme is easy to follow. Obviously you’re doing it on your own, rather than with a face to face PT, but every exercise has a demonstration and most have a walk through with James demonstrating what you’re supposed to do, and with the cues that you need to pay attention to.

The JSA is an incredible experience. I’m a fairly experienced lifter and thought I knew all about nutrition. I can’t recommend the approach taken by James and all of his coaches highly enough. Worth every single penny!

Love it

Love it! The coaches are so helpful and they have been my friends and anchor for the last few months when I needed the most! Always inspiring me to be better, and offer support when I needed. And love that you can just tell them what equipment you have available then they create accordingly!

Customer support and coaches are…

Customer support and coaches are fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. Speedy responses, any responses I’ve had have all been well within 24 hours.

Ask questions, they’ll answer, have any medical issues/injuries and they’ll adapt your plan around the issues

App is good, easy to work, workouts all have tutorials to help you with form, workouts are set up based on what you have available to use (gym/home equipment). You get meal plans if you want to select them, can change the foods to suit your dietary needs. Calories get set for your goals, tracks steps and calories automatically through your phones health app (if you have one).

I’d definitely recommend JSA. There are cheaper plans out there, but you get what you pay for (I’ve tried cheaper plans so I speak from experience)

The coaches have been so supportive

The coaches have been so supportive, helping me and checking in on me through out my time with them. They truly are there to help, this give great ideas and point you in the direction of other things to check out to help you with your journey. Workouts are tailored and easy to change when needed.

I downloaded the JSA app after a couple…

I downloaded the JSA app after a couple of months of trying to lose weight and get more into exercise myself as I felt I needed a push so I joined the 6 week challenge. I really enjoyed the challenge however pretty much after it ended it lost all motivation and was really struggling, the coaches were great but there’s only so much they can do to push you and it is easy to just bury your head in the sand and ignore there messages which I ultimately did. I decided I needed something more to push me back into it so I decided to cancel my membership and go in another direction with a one to one online coach however this was more of a reflection of myself and not the app. It’s great if your willing to do most of the work yourself and only need a gentle push to get going again however I’d gotten into a place where I needed a lot more but for what you pay for the app you can’t go wrong, the workouts are quite general but a good starting point and easy to follow, the calories seem high but the coaches explain the reason for this to you and there is a lot of useful information on the app. Overall good experience with the app and I would not rule out joining again just not for me at this moment in time

Life changing programme

My first 12 week challenge complete with JSA and it’s been life changing! I promise I’m not exaggerating, for me, it’s done just that. It’s the first ever programme I’ve had that I’ve stuck to, mainly due to the fact that I’ve actually been able to live me life alongside it. Would recommended to anyone and everyone.
I’ve lost 8kg, four (!!) dress sizes and fallen in love with weight training! On to the next one…!

Coach check ins ARE the difference

I enjoy and look forward to the weekly check in. It keeps you accountable and it’s like journaling. This is where I saw the best value like a diary that talks back, motivates and gives advice. This feature has really changed my mindset and made me enjoy the process and got me out of the calorie obsession rat race while still getting results

Waste of money

Paid for a 12 weeks challenge, filled in all the forms on the website which then told me to install an app and login using my account.

Did this and it asked me to fill in all the information again. Filled in some of it multiple times due to the app not saving the information.

You are then not even enrolled on the challenge even though thats what you selected, you have to do this manually again.

Finally got it sorted and was basically given a calorie target which seemed too high, followed this for a couple of weeks and actually gained weight.

Messaged the coaches who told me to stick with it, gained more weight.

The checkin process was also disapointing with a different coach pretty much every checkin so they have no idea what you spoke about with the person from the week before.

Stuck with it and eventually gave up in a worse place than I started.

Hired a local coach instead and have consistently lost weight since.

I really wanted to like this as I was a big fan of james book and stuff I've read before but the whole thing was disapointing.

Edit to reply to the response I stuck with this for 5 weeks in total and mentioned to the coaches every checkin I felt the calories where too high.

Hi Mark, sorry about the technical issues which you encountered, this would be annoying for sure. In terms of your calories, we do not calculate those for you. You calculated those on the app, using the Harris Benedict formula - the most widely used formula for calculating calories. The formula requires an accurate self evaluation of your activity level. In addition, the formula is just a starting point, it is not a strict prescription. Although two weeks is not a long enough timeframe to determine the efficacy of any fitness program, if you felt that your calories were too high, you could have revisited your activity level on the calculator. For example, missing all of your workouts in a given week would mean that your stated activity level was inaccurate and therefore your calorie estimate was inaccurate. We honestly believe that your experience would have been positive and aligned with the majority of our other members had you continued to work with us past two weeks.

JSA is a true gem 💎

I highly recommend JSA. I first found out about JSA because I loved watching James Smith talks on YouTube. He keeps it real and presents solid, science backed info with his no bs attitude. Anyhow, I did the free trial membership and loved everything that it offered so much that I signed up for a paid monthly membership. JSA provides me with a wealth of knowledge and informational content, a hand tailored workout program catered 100% to my needs and preferences (I mean really, the coaches will work tirelessly with you to provide you a program that works for you and you can change it up as often as you want), and full 24/7 access to a handful of coaches for support and guidance. Truly the coaches are what makes JSA such a gem. The fact that you end up with a handful of different fitness coaches to chat with is great because they each have their own strengths and insights and so by dealing with them all you really get a whole, complete range of support. The really impressive thing is that the coaches all go out of their way to get to know you personally. They really put a lot of thought into each interaction and go the extra mile every time. Every single time. Honestly, I don't know how they are able to offer such a personalized experience but I am so grateful that they do. I've been with JSA since Sept 2022 and as it's April 2023 and I love it just as much now, if not even more, I think its safe to say that I'm a customer for life. I cannot say enough good about JSA.

You won’t regret joining JSA

Positive, helpful and knowledgeable trainers who are available to assist & encourage throughout the 12 weeks. I appreciated the personalised workouts and the ability to request changes and a new program when I wanted. Looking forward to the next challenge!

Life changing 12 weeks

Life changing 12 weeks. I lost 3.5kg and went down a dress size. Walking daily has now become one of my favourite things. I never felt like I was dieting even though I tracked every day. Highly, highly recommend. Best challenge I've ever done.
