Overpriced, unreliable staff, and disappointing food – Stay Away!

Review: Our stay at Hotel Jardín Tecina was a massive disappointment, especially considering we spent over 5,300 Euro.
The Service: We were given a verbal confirmation by the reception that we could shorten our stay and receive a refund. Based on this, we rebooked our flights. Afterwards, the hotel went back on their word, hiding behind "non-refundable" terms and essentially calling us liars. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable for a high-end resort.
The Food: For a hotel in this price range, the buffet was a letdown. Most of the meat appeared to be pre-boiled/pre-cooked and lacked any culinary quality. It felt more like a mass-production canteen than a 4-star experience.
Extra Costs: Despite the high room rate, be prepared to pay extra for almost everything. A large portion of the activities on-site require additional payment, which feels like "nickel-and-diming" the guests.
Conclusion: There are far better places to spend your money on La Gomera where they actually value their guests and keep their promises. Stay away.

Hotel Tecina Jardin La Gomera

We found this hotel to be first class and had a wonderful time. The food and the atmosphere could not have been better. We stayed two weeks over Easter and totally enjoyed it. They offer hugely enjoyable art classes, by Virginia, and brilliant guided talks on the hotel's unique garden and the stars, by Jurgen. They have 5 tennis courts, plus two paddle tennis courts. The swimming pools are spotless and immaculately kept as are the hotel grounds generally. The surrounding landscape is extremely dramatic and beautiful. The hotel is situated at the top of a cliff. The Atlantic ocean is visible from many of the rooms.
You can go jogging or walking in the hills and there is a little town nearby where you can swim in the sea and the beach even has showers. It's definitely a gem and we're keen to go back. By the way, the desserts are amazing, and much of the hotel food is grown on their own farm. The gelato at the two ice cream bars is as good as any in New York or Italy.

It's particularly nice if you have children as they can run around within the big compound, and it all feels very safe. They have entertainment in the evenings aimed at families, and upstairs they have a resident pianist, and a flamenco guitarist comes once a week.

The most phantastic hotel I have ever seen

Hotel Tecina Jardin is on the island La Gomera, one of the smaller Canary islands. The hotel is beautifully embedded into the most phantastic botanic garden with a breathtaking view over the Atlantic.
The motto of the hotel Gardin is "World Garden", resembling the most beautifull plants from all over the world. The position on the cliff, some 50 meter over the sea is spectacular. With a lift you can get down to the beach. There are pools both down at the beach and up on the cliff. Really phantastic.
The whole hotel consists of small bungalows with two floors only, fitting perfectly into the landscape.
The Norwegian owners have implemented a real high service standard. You can feel that the employees really love to work there. It is for good reasons that the locals have named a new holiday village close by "Pueblo Don Thomas", after the grandfather of the founding Olsen family.
