I went to jdbyrider because they said…
I went to jdbyrider because they said they could get me into a car with little money down, I only put $300 down initially. What they dont tell you is for the next six months you will be paying an amount higher than your regular monthly payment to compensate for the low down payment. They lock you in at an incredibly high interest rate if you have not so great credit, I'm pretty sure if my credit is bad I really can't afford a huge car payment. So I found the car I wanted at their lot it was an 2009 Ford Fusion with around 100,000 miles on it, so I thought this is the perfect car for me. Later on talking to the person who so graciously approved my loan, said to me that the Ford was really the only car on the list they could get me into with my credit and work history. Oh well it's ok because that's the car I really liked. They were selling the car to me at $12,995 but if you did a Kelly blue book on it it was worth around $4,995, but I neglected to think about kbb at that time, I really needed a car because my other one broke down and I had to get to work. The interstate rate was over 25% and they said that was the best rate they could get me, although they do in house financing so they could make whatever rate they wanted. Another reason I went to jdbyrider was that they had their Good to Go limited warranty or extended service agreement and $5 oil changes as long as I owned the car, they also said they help repair credit over time by making on time payments. The lady who sold me the car said she looked at my current situation, not my oast mistakes, if that were true then why was my interest rate over 25% and not like a typical car loan of 0-5%. They make their own interest rates but it seems that rate is solely based off the past credit mistakes. So not long after buying it it started having issues with the brakes they were grinding and squealing, so I took it into them and their head mechanic said that it was just "dust on the brake pads" my husband and I made fun of his statement for a long time. I worked at a parts delivery business and had one of the guys there look at the dust on my brakes and said my whole brake system needed replaced. So all new pads and rotors. Also the alignment was so iff I couldn't even take my hands off the wheel for a second. So the head mechanic said to take it to a specific shop to have the alignment done and he personally called them and said to bill it to their company account. This was great because now they were at least fixing one problem. Except I had to take it back to that same shop 3 times for the same alignment and then once more to a different shop where it finally actually got fixed. Then he said he could do the brakes for me and only charge me a $50 deductible because I had the warranty. Awesome, they even gave me a loaner car because I had to work and I used my car for my job. They said it was done so I went and picked it up 2 days later. Within a week of getting it back the brakes started up again. So I took it back in after many many voicemails left and unreturned phone calls. At first he said it must be more dust in the brakes, after the lead mechanic personally looked at my car and agreed it needed new pads and rorors. So I was no asked to pay an additional $50 deductible plus any parts that were needed, so much for the warranty covering the expenses. I know they overcharged based on what they paid the company I worked for for the parts needed for my brakes, but they said they offered low cost service visits and repairs $250 later for a brake job, I could have done it faster and better myself. This time they didnt offer me the loaner car and told me they only offer the loaner car when something in the engine goes wrong, needless to say I missed out on about $200 dollars at my job that day. JDByrider is the most dishonest car company I've ever worked with. If you can try and find another dealership there are plenty out there that do buy here pay here with smaller interest rates. Save yourself from all the lies and broken promises they offer because in the end f oil r a $5,000 car that they have on their lot at $12,995 with interest and your loan length you would end up paying over $24,000 for a car worth $5,000. I had a trade in that I brought with me its was worth at least $2,500 so at the auction they could have at least sold it for $1,500 so they could have given me $1,000 for my trade instead they offered me 450 and I eventually talked them into $600, they said with how much I had down if i didnt trade in my vehicle they simply would not be able to get me into any car on their lot. Oh, last issue I can think of is I asked if they could take my payment late and they were more than willing to accommodate my request, but I switched jobs a few months down the line and needed to make another late payment and they were ready to come repo my car for it. Harassing phone calls all the time til finally I overdraw my checking account for the car payment. Then I asked to switch my payment due dates and they said they could do it one time because they would have to rewrite the loan documents. Awesome except that inital higher than normal payments for six months apparently started over again so now I will have been making $450 payments for 12 months and they didnt give me a payment schedule of where (interest or principal) was going. I ended up actually giving the car back to them I lived in the mountains then about an hour away from this dealership so I drove it down the mountain and parked it at the Albertsons in town and left the key in it, even thou they obviously had another key to the car and I texted the loan officer where the car and key were. I cant begin to tell you how many times the manager of the business threatened legal action and other types of intimidation and harassment against me. The last thing I asked this company for was the plates off the car back because I had a years registration left on my tags and they simply replied with oh we must have thrown them away. This company is very unprofessional in every way shape and form. From all the unkept promises to the horrific ways they conduct business. Stay away from them at all costs you can find almost any buy here pay here dealership willing to get you into a car for thousands less than what you'll be paying here. Take your time when purchasing a new or used vehicle. Always get another mechanics opinion because that could make or break you financially and ALWAYS do a kbb price comparison before buying they literally have b.c. a tool that will tell you what a dealership should sell a specific model and make for. Dont get sucked into last minute pressured decisions and intimidating scare tactics from jdbyrider simply be smart and go anywhere else that does in house financing or a buy here pay here car lot. Sorry my review was so long I just had such an awful experience I hope my review at very least will help one person make a financially responsible decision.
