A business with no transparency, integrity or respect!!

I placed my first and only order with Jing for German Peppermint tea, however, I was sickened, shocked and infuriated to discover that German Peppermint tea is shipped to Sri Lanka to be packed!!!!

After my initial email highlighting my concerns, I received a response from Teresa, however, she did not directly explain why this process takes places and offered a refund for the teabags or the offer to send the loose tea which is directly from Germany. I felt so angry and accepted the offer of a refund, I sent further emails raising my concerns and was referred to Ed Eisler the owner of Jing Tea.
Ed Eisler emailed directly and offered to discuss via a phone call but I could not understand why after all my emails he could not explain these simple questions via email, I did feel the discomfort of the offer of a telephone call with Ed Eisler as I felt certain that I would be fobbed off with untruthful justifications.

Why was Ed Eisler unable to answer these basic questions?
Why is German Peppermint Tea transported thousands of miles to be packed into bags in Sri Lanka, but yet the loose tea is shipped from Germany?
How is this process cost effective, ethical or environmentally friendly and how is their process carbon neutral?
Ed Eisler did not confirm if the owners of the tea are reaping the benefits of a wealthy lifestyle due to their resource?
Why can you not state the history and name of each of the Owners Tea plantations on your website?
Why is a Sri Lankan Breakfast Tea called ‘English’ when tea is not English?

Ed Eisler’s inability to respond to simple and straightforward questions, in addition to the lack of acknowledgment and respect of the suppliers heritage and labour intensive product is abhorrent and beggars belief.

Jing Tea trades from Belgravia in London which is one of the wealthiest areas in the world, are the owners/producers of the tea reaping the same benefits from their products?

Ed Eilser’s generic and ambiguous responses within his emails regarding the infrastructure Jing’s business makes no sense or reference to the content of all my emails/questions and I’m none the wiser, however, it has highlighted ‘the money trumps ethics theory’ to be true. The need to keep the inner workings of Jing’s business hidden in itself creates the issue, and this is why it becomes so difficult for Ed Eisler to address and answer questions with honesty and integrity.

Unfortunately, Ed Eilser’s failure to contradict, justify, elaborate or project any form of understanding of any of my concerns or basic questions is utterly mind blowing and concerning. Ed Eisler’s response has come as no surprise and his evidential choice to be oblivious is astounding and utterly frustrating, but I can appreciate he is caught in the trap that money provides him off the backs of someone else’s product. These businesses cannot be created and continue to be profited from Asia’s and South America’s millions of resources and to name only a few of these products such as tea, coffee, gemstones, precious metals, cocoa etc. when the producers/owners are living in poverty!

I have felt the offer of a telephone conversation would not bring any further clarity or closure as Ed Eisler refuses to address the few basic questions I have consistently asked via 6 emails which is not something that needs to be discussed during a conversation, therefore, I am concerned when Ed Eisler could and would not answer my repeatedly asked questions which is totally baffling to me.
I feel I have a right to ask the questions and respectfully receive a professional response, but unfortunately, Ed Eisler managed to offended me and try to insult my intelligence within his last email which is extremely upsetting.

Ed Eisler visited Asia
As a ‘Middle Man/Salesman’ Eisler thought to create an Asian named company to sell someone else’s product.
Ed Eisler’s one and only aim was to take and sell an intensively laborious Asian product/culture/tradition with the end goal of achieving immense wealth from a product that Eisler has no connection of ownership or culture or physical production.
Ed Eisler’s sole aim was to target the luxury Hotel and other luxury businesses and in doing so, entirely bypassing the general public, all in the effort for Ed Eisler to reap the financial rewards and not the owners or suppliers.

There are many global movements such as ‘Me Too’, ‘Gay Rights’; and ‘BLM’ and unethical trading which is not acceptable is continuing today

Don’t typically write reviews but this…

Don’t typically write reviews but this business is just exceptional. First off the tea is simply amazing, have tried many different types (black, green, oolong) and all are top notch. Have tried some other premium tea providers and nothing has held up to these.

However the reason for the review is the service to their customers which has exceeded above and beyond. So, why do I say this? I recently received an unexpected (large) bag of breakfast Assam with a card from Jing apologising that a batch I’d previously bought was not from their portion of the relevant plantation (I’d not noticed to be honest), however once this was realised Jing sent out a further complimentary bag for me without being prompted. The fact that they identified the issue, apologised and corrected all without any input from me I think speaks volumes of how they value their customers. Very nice gesture and a massive thumbs up from me........about time for another tea order me thinks 🫖

Teresa at Jing Tea was most helpful in having a replacement sent to me which arrived a few days later in perfect condition. The 2 cup tea pot is nicely designed and pours without any drips... always a concern when buying these items from the internet. Can only recommend Jing Tea as highly as possible for all your tea needs. Thanks Teresa

This company needs to be dissolved as…

This company needs to be dissolved as they truly are not respecting their customers! I ordered some tea from jing as Xmas presents on 7th dec, by the 18th the recipient reported nothing had been received. I contacted jing and they promised they would be raising a case with Royal Mail. 4 days later still no news, I called back and spoke to some junior assistant that assured me she would deal with the issue and call me back the next day. That did not happen and by that point I was frankly tired of dealing with jing. I got a refund and ordered from a much more commercially minded company (teaexperience.co.uk). Jing - I won’t be ordering from you again.

Fantastic customer service, gorgeous products

My husband bought me a gift of a Jing teapot, cup & saucer, and a selection of teas. I contacted Jing as I wanted to exchange the teapot for a larger one, the customer service was outstanding, probably best I’ve encountered when purchasing online. Would definitely recommend.

By chance had a "Jasmine Silver Needle"…

By chance had a "Jasmine Silver Needle" tea at Tate Modern today. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have never had tea this good in the uk. I could not believe a tea so complex with so many distinct but well balanced floral notes could come out of a tea bag.

My preferred and only supplier of tea

Since I discovered this shop almost a year ago, I only purchase my tea from this great company.

Love the tea, it’s simply divine. Furthermore, there are still so many wonderful teas to explore.

I don’t mind paying a premium for a premium product, and JING always delivers on quality and taste.

Excellent compant, excellent products, excellent customer service.

I found this company by googling 'glass tea cup and saucer' after seeing some on The Sewing Bee TV show. Jing had what I was looking for and I ordered two cups and saucers. Their website is easy to use, has good clear photos and descriptions of products and easy check out. My goods arrived promptly and beautifully packaged ( great for a gift) they're excellent quality with a gold Jing logo at the base of the cup which adds to the luxury feel. A cup and saucer for £15 is great value. Unfortunately one on the cups had a slight cracked/chipped edge. I contacted Jing and after sending a photo, which didn't really show the fault they, without any fuss, immediately sent me a replacement cup and saucer ( as they come as a pair). I didn't need to return the faulty cup. As a result of this excellent service I will be ordering a teapot. I can recommend this company.

Late delivery and forgotten gift wrap

I was very excited to buy the present for my bestie from there as my sister owned many products from them that were received from her boyfriend working with the company. However, when it came to my order, I ordered some tea, jars and a tea pot all to be gift wrapped (c.£100) firstly, they couldn't deliver it next day (although I received the note from DPD that the order is on the way) and secondly when it arrived a day too late, it was not gift wrapped. When I contacted their customer service, it was very much a blunt response - we can't do anything about it so... you can either cancel the order or get it delivered a day late. And when I then complained about the gift wrap, I got a discount and somewhat sympathetic apology. These individual retailers who's products are purely sold on one website should have immaculate customer service and procedures in place. I am utterly disappointed and unfortunately wouldn't be ordering from them again, despite loving the products.

My favourite tea site ever

My favourite tea site ever! And I love a nice cup of tea. I've got everything from Jing: teapots big and small, cups, trays, decanters, you name it, and of course TEA! Lemon verbena, mint, green, white, yellow... I visit the site once every six months or so and stock up on everything. Happens to be a lot cheaper than Tea Emporium in town. Can't say anything about customer services or refunds, as I never had to return anything. Will definitely recommend.
