This was a very disappointing …

This was a very disappointing experience, the dinasours were extremely damaged , and had been clearly just shoved together (using masses of silicone sealant) some looked like they had been rummaging in my child's craft box with "plumes " of multicoloured featheres randomly shoved into its head.
The saggy stegosaurus looked like it needed a viagra. lots of the dinosaurs had bits missing and holes in them. My 3 year old asked "why are all the dinosaurs so poorly?"
Asking staff for help was useless and the two we tried to talk to were clear high and Could barely string a sentence together.
It was so bad it was laughable we even joked with other punters about how bad it was !. The only positive was that the Caffè at the end served some amazing food .

Ashton Court to see the dinosaurs

Went to Ashton Court to see the dinosaurs today, it was great seeing them but what I was disappointed about was access wasn't easy for people with pushchairs or anyone on mobility scooter, wheelchairs or people that struggle going up steps as no hand rails to hold onto. Another thing that was disappointing to see was how some children were touching and even kicking the animatronics but I blame parents for this also as they should of told them off. I think there should be very clear notices put next to all structures saying DO NOT TOUCH. Food coyrt prices rather expensive, gift shop for dinosaur merch ridiculously expensive, 1 out of 4 of the VR ride was only working so waiting time was lengthy. Also advise wear wellies as very muddy and slippery.

The parking was horrendous

The parking was horrendous, it’s very over priced and lots of the dinosaurs are damaged and poorly maintained. The overall feel is that the organisers don’t care if people enjoy the event it’s all about making money.

A toddler with a glue gun and some craft feathers

The parking doesn't need mentioning again...

The models look so tired. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if somebody told be they're 30+ years old. Several dinosaurs had parts hanging off or completely detached - a raptor whose tongue had fallen off, a plesiosaur with a hole in it's back. The dorsal plates of the stegosaurus, it's iconic feature, were totally droopy.

The sound effects were awful - one dino had what was plainly a recording of a seagull followed by a dolphin playing on loop for it's noise.

The animatronics were basic and quite lame looking. The information plaques at each station looked like they had been lifted verbatim from a paleontology textbook, not written for the lay person at all, let alone for children - and let's be honest they're the main customers here.

The worst bit, which literally made visitors laugh out loud at how rubbish it was, was a feathered bipedal dino who looked like it had been the victim of a toddler with a glue gun and some craft feathers.

Then there's the fact that one of the exhibits had literally burned down a few days before we visited...

All in all, really disappointing. Lucky it was nice weather and the trees are looking good this autumn, but I could've enjoyed this without spending £50.

Very poor value for money, over priced

Very poor value for money and over priced. Dinosaurs are so damaged the kids ask if they're not very well?!. No real context and education gleened from the exhibit, just dinosaurs randomly placed around the grounds, some roars and a bit of animation. Parking as mentioned in other reviews was overlooked, more poor value. If this was free I would say give it a go, otherwise go to say, Puxton Park, for dinosaurs and have some fun too.

Absolute rip off

Absolute rip off, the animatronics were falling apart, the signs were so weathered you couldn’t read them, the website promises a very different experience. If this had been £1 to enter it would have been disappointing let along £15 per person.

Absolutely loved this

Absolutely loved this - our friends and kids had the best time. All the dinosaurs were in great working order (don’t understand the reviews saying they were damaged?). Great setting for it too in Ashton court.

Appreciate there were issues with parking - we were lucky to be entering at 10am so didn’t have those problems. Think the event was brilliant though and worth the money

Hell is other people...

It's true what they say..."hell is other people"...this just isn't worth the money, but is clearly a highly profitable cash cow. It was absolutely rammed and oversold, no stewards, dinosaurs are a bit tired and little information or any jurassic 'theme'. Wild kids everywhere and little parenting to be seen, no wonder the dinosaurs are missing bits! I get the frustration on parking, but seriously, read the website?! It's explicit, don't drive. The queue for the car park was back to the main road...and yet, more people joined it...darwinism in practice.

Awful and very overpriced

Visited the Bristol event at Ashton Court. My advice would be to avoid at all costs. The parking was horrendous, it’s very over priced and lots of the dinosaurs are damaged and poorly maintained. The overall feel is that the organisers don’t care if people enjoy the event it’s all about making money. Please don’t waste your money.

No traffic management, no parking

No traffic management which meant having to queue for almost an hour to park. When hosting these types of events parking and transport planning is a must. Use public transport is great idea, but currently public transport in Bristol is very poor. Minimal signage at the event, dinosaurs were in need of a lot of repairs.

Avoid

Avoid, waste time and money. I just lost all the money. Could not get to the parking, planning such an event in Ashton Court, when it is open for other visitors and no extra parking..... "environment friendly bullshi* please use busses".

Car park is horrendous

Car park is horrendous. No staff there. No signs to the start. Huge queues plus the car park issue mean you have no chance of getting your slot. Leading to huge amounts of people. Waste of time. Don’t bother.

Terrible parking, no signs, facilities useless

We went to this in Bristol, the parking was absolutely horrendous! Queue to get in but no space and nobody informing you of what was going on and no signs to even say you are in the right place. Once you realise there's no parking and have to try and snake back through the traffic to find parking elsewhere we had to try to walk back with 3 children, 2 in a double pram. So dangerous trying to navigate this road with a pram having to walk in the road up to the venue. The food stalls who sold 'coffee and doughnuts' had no hot drinks......massive queues for the toilets, dinosaurs missing tongues and tails. Not worth the money.

Expensive

Expensive. Falling apart dinosaurs bits missing, dirty signs that you can't read, but with inaccurate information on the ones you could read - a 2mt tall dinosaur 6mt in length weighing 14 kilos. Rude staff who spend all their time looking at their phones. £2 to have a ride lasting 1 minute

Great family day out

We went with our 4 year old son and it was a brilliant day out. Our son loved the dinosaurs, they moved and made sounds which he loved. There was an area at the end of the trail to get food and there were trampolines which was good fun. Great day out for young kids.

Didn't even get to go

Booked this a month in advance for summer holidays , well on the day the trains went on bloody strike so couldn't even get there , paid £5 for refund protection and thought well il get my money back .
The email from them said because the trains told us about the strike .( We have no TV due to expense we can't afford ) and I don't check the train website religiously as it seems , it's out of there hands and no refund given .
So £50 basically chucked in the bin , all because of the mewling quims at South Western trains

Still waiting on a refund from my overcharged tickets. This was expensive and shoddy with broken dinosaurs and rude "staff'. Absolutely not worth the money. hope this review stops someone wasting their money. I absolutely would not have paid for this, had I known that it was going to be so poor.

Huge let down

Huge let down. Such a shame. Almost a joke how the dinosaurs had been torn apart and had missing eyes and teeth as standard. Crude repairs made if any. For the amount charged for entry, it is an absolute joke!
