I have always wanted a dress ring but I have never been successful in finding one for my small hand. I have bought pieces from Just Gems before and that gave me the idea of having a ring made . I knew what I wanted but didn’t really know how to articulate it .
Helen was warm and welcoming . She listened carefully to what I wanted and did a mock up for me . Helen had a vast selection of gems to choose from and so there was no problem finding the gems I wanted .
The finished ring perfect . It is absolutely beautiful . The setting is perfect despite the fact that I didn’t describe it particularly well .
I am thrilled with my commissioned ring and would thoroughly recommend Helen .

This is a wonderful shop, tucked away in a lovely Cotswold town. The owner, Helen has a fantastic range of jewellery but her real talent lies in her eye for design and the two commission rings she produced for us from semi precious stones we owned are fantastic (the pictures on the web site do not do them justice)! Helen was friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient and the whole experience was really enjoyable.

I asked Helen for ideas to adapt a ring for me which ultimately involved removing a central stone, replacing with a different one, cleaning and upsizing. She could not have been more helpful, going out of her way to source a number of gems for me to try and consider. The end result is truly stunning and attracts comments every time that I wear it. This was a ring that belonged to my Mum which I didn’t wear. Helen’s knowledge, expertise and patience has meant that I now have something that has enormous sentimental value and most importantly that I now wear. Thank you so much .

Helen not only shared her expertise about an existing gem set in a ring, she was also kind enough to clean it for my wife. She shared fascinating insights into gems and sold us a beautiful piece. A highly qualified and welcoming person...highly recommended.

Just wonderful. After seeing some pieces that I loved on Sunday but wanted time to reflect on what was an emotional purchase, I called in on my way home from London yesterday to purchase them. Not only are the pieces unique and beautiful, the welcome warm and friendly. Helen and the team knowledgable and passionate about their creations, but Helen even kept the shop open late when I was delayed and called to check what time they closed.

This lovely shop is owned by Helen who is the most down to earth knowledgeable lady! Helen’s jewellery is absolutely stunning and very sought after so I was worried my budget was too small but Helen went the extra mile to source exactly what I wished for. I cannot recommend Just Gems enough to everyone. The whole experience is one never to forget!

We chose a ring through just gems which was such a wonderful experience . We had the opportunity to look at many different gem stones and potential designs to suit. The follow up with quote and CAD drawing and the quick turn round to the ring arriving was fabulous. I went to Helen in the hope that she could recreate a pair of opal and gold earrings that were stolen during a burglary 25 years ago and that my wife had been looking out for ever since. She had bought them with money left to her by her grandmother who was very dear to her and she wore them on our wedding day. I thought it would be a fitting surprise present for her 60th birthday. Working from a less than ideal wedding photo, Helen found the perfect stones and and had them beautifully made into an exact recreation of the earrings. They couldn't have been a better present, my wife couldn't believe she was looking at her 'old' earrings and was so happy with them. Helen was so professional, she made the whole process a pleasure and I can't recommend her highly enough.

Helen Plumb at Just Gems provides a top individual service . I purchased a stunning Aquamarine ring from her - and a few months later she sourced matching stones to have earrings made to an agreed design. Helen has extensive knowledge and is very easy to deal with which has resulted in very happy purchases.

We've just had an Ethiopian opal made up into a ring and the result is stunning! Helen gave us wonderful, interesting background on the formation of the stone and the story of the peoiple that unearthed it. Just Gems is an understatement - you get so much more!

I sought a ruby pendant with which to give thanks for forty years of love. My mind’s eye knew exactly what it would look like: I guessed I would need to find the right stone, and then have it set. So I rang Helen and described my thoughts, which she understood precisely. She suggested including a diamond to add brilliance, showed me several of her cut and unmounted rubies, and offered as alternatives a number of ready-made pieces. One of these was exactly what my mind had in its eye - better, on account of the diamond that sat above the ruby. All this by phone and email (because Devon is miles from Winchcombe). Though she could easily have sent it to me I chose to go to Winchcombe to collect it - a happy trip which provided the extra delight of learning about the stone, and seeing so many others of Helen's lovely gems.

I’m so happy I went to Just Gems and met Helen, I own a ring made just for me, I know so much about it, where the stone came from where it was cut where it was hallmarked. The effort Helen went to to find me the right stone was impressive and never at any moment did I feel pressured to buy, I enjoyed the journey from start to finish, from meeting and talking to Helen who is so knowledgeable about Gems, to choosing the stone and then to the day I picked it up. And now everyday feels special when I wear it, and I am someone who never thought she would be owning a bespoke ring and thanks to Helen I am now a very proud owner of a stunning Aquamarine and diamond ring. We are fortunate to have Just Gems in Winchcombe. Helen has recently rejuvenated my engagement ring with a beautiful Zircon gem stone which took enormous effort and expertise to source the perfect replacement stone for me.

I have also had a Sapphire bespoke ring made, which I am delighted with, chosen from Helen's large collection of coloured gem stones. All my rings are polished, sparkling and looking stunning.

Helen Plumb - not your average jeweller!

When two of my friends (who don't know each other, but do know that I love beautiful jewellery and gemstones) both recommended that I visit gemmologist Helen Plumb at her shop Just Gems in the Cotswolds town of Winchcombe, I was intrigued...

And what a treat was in store! Helen is an amazing lady, hugely knowledgeable and totally passionate about precious and semi-precious stones and how to use them to create items of jewellery that are individual and different, yet eminently wearable.

My first brief visit turned into a regular outing (there is always something new to see) and I am now the proud owner of a number of pieces which I just love, and which draw admiring glances whenever I wear them. And during lockdown, I have kept myself consoled by browsing the treasures on the Just Gems website.

When it's possible to visit in person again, Winchcombe is a very pleasant town, well worth a day out with some interesting local attractions to enjoy - if you can tear yourself away from Helen and her gems, that is!

My best friend recommended Just Gems to me as I was looking for a sapphire engagement ring and had seen how beautifully his order had turned out. Helen was a pleasure to work with throughout the process, taking on board every detail that I wanted in the ring (choosing the stones was great fun) and matching its design to a description of my partner to create a piece that was stunning but secure to match her active lifestyle. Such a special service! After a terrible encounter at a craft fair with an arrogant trader, Helen made me feel like I wasn't an idiot and he was well out of line. She gave me her number and said she could help. No pressure, she left it with me to decide to contact her and I'm so glad I did. She created a beautiful bespoke piece that I had commissioned for my dearest mother's 70th birthday. Helen really listened to what I wanted, was honest with timescales and costs and kept me informed of progress throughout the process. After a burglary I wanted some new jewellery but I am not keen on much that you see in the High Street. Helen came to our WI meeting and was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about gemstones that I thought it would be fun to visit her and see the jewellery in person. I was not disappointed; and although spoilt for choice I decided on Australian opals for a pair of stud earrings. I am very pleased with them as they have fire and a depth of colour that I have never seen in opals in any shop. My unique earrings give me pleasure each time I wear them.
