Considering 87 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many travelers frequently share that the staff members are extremely friendly, offering wonderful advice, helpful local maps, and thorough explanations before departure. Many people also genuinely enjoy driving the modern campervans, noting that the vehicles are usually in great condition and very comfortable for memorable road trips. However, some customers also noted frustrating issues with exceptionally long waiting periods during vehicle collection and disorganized administrative paperwork. Others experienced annoying equipment failures inside the vehicles and felt that customer support representatives were unhelpful when trying to resolve formal complaints.

Booking

Booking: WMU233612-1 | 20–31 August 2026Do not hire from Just Go. This was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had.We collected the motorhome from London Luton at 17:15. The central door was already defective. Their own staff carried out a temporary repair on the spot (this is on their CCTV). I immediately asked for a replacement vehicle. They refused. I had already emailed them before collection specifically requesting a newer vehicle for a long journey to Norway – that request was ignored. Two days after arriving in Norway the door failed completely. It would no longer open properly and was at real risk of detaching while driving. We were forced to secure it with rope and drive under strict speed restrictions. My 63-year-old sister has a medical condition that prevents her from safely using the driver’s door, so she was left distressed and restricted every time we stopped.I contacted roadside assistance – they confirmed the serious defect. Just Go still provided no replacement and no proper resolution. We were left to continue the holiday in an unsafe vehicle. As a direct result:
We could not reach several pre-booked accommodations
We missed our pre-booked Calais–Dover ferry
One family member had to remain inside the motorhome at all times because the central door would not lock
The entire family trip was ruined by safety fears, stress and wasted money
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the vehicle was clearly not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose. Just Go knew about the defect at handover and still sent us out in it.I have demanded a full refund of the hire cost (£2,513.72) plus wasted accommodation, the missed ferry and compensation for the distress caused. So far there has been no satisfactory response.Avoid Just Go. The vehicle was unsafe, their response was appalling, and they showed zero care for a family with a vulnerable passenger.

Booked hand over time 2.30 ,they were rude ,when I went to reception that they would be 20 minutes , waited 45 ,side door was catching and didn’t close properly , was gaffer tape for bumper and roof repairs , found after a while that cruise control didn’t work or usb points, stained mattress , bed slats keep falling out ,grill didn’t work ,hob top cover clasp was faulty , lots of minor damage ,booking system was shit , still waiting for our deposit back , unhelpful ai system , would never use them again ! Make sure you photographed everything ,and test everything , cos once you eventually get on you’re way , you cant afford to loose more time going back ,especially when you pick up Saturday and they are closed Sunday ,

Terrible experience with Just Go / Indie Campers in Edinburgh.

We were given a motorhome with obvious faults: non-working hob burners, a broken bed, a faulty door, disgracefully damaged interiors, and engine problems with a warning light on and a severe loss of power during the trip.

We reported everything immediately, but customer support did not resolve the issues. Even after the trip, we repeatedly sent follow-up messages and supporting documentation, without receiving any satisfactory response.

We had also paid for a Protection Plan, the highest level of insurance coverage available, and in our experience it turned out to be practically useless when it came to actually dealing with the problems.

Indie Campers claims to put customer satisfaction, vehicle quality and customer support first. In our case, we experienced exactly the opposite.

Paying this much for a rental and receiving a motorhome in these conditions is unacceptable.

I would not rent again from Just Go / Indie Campers.

these are crooks do not use them they sell insurance which basically covers hardly anything. We had insurance but in very small print in 5 or 6 page fine print document they said any damage above 6ft no covered any damage below doorline not covered any inerior damage not covere and much more basically cover nothing. I had an accident and thought I would be covered instead got a bill for over 10,000 pounds and the threat of putting in the hands of their debt collectors. They cannot be trusted.

KEPT CREDIT CARD DETAILS AND CHARGED IT MONTHS LATER

This used to be a great company but have now been bought by Indie Campers who are terrible. Over two months after our return of our camper van this company out of the blue charged our credit card with over £2300 for "Damage" using photo evidence with dates on weeks after the return. It took many emails battling to get this money returned. There was no apology and no Compensation for the huge amount of time it took and stress at having no available funds on our credit card. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE FROM START TO FINISH. I was charged extra for an early collection at 2.30pm. I arrived at 2.15pm and finally took possession of the vehicle at 5.15pm !!! There are no staff and so the ones that are there are totally stressed and angry with everyone. Then, not only were there broken parts in the motorhome that weren't noticeable until we had arrived at our first destination, but they have not returned my deposit. They have also charged me an extra amount for a broken cupboard clasp which the lady pointed out to me was broken and she advised I take a photo, which I did. I have the photo, but they went ahead and charged me and now I can't get my money back. DO NOT use them - we spoke to other customers who said the company has changed hands and is being run into the ground but cutting corners.

We hired a motorhome from Just Go’s…

We hired a motorhome from Just Go’s Toddington/Luton depot for 10 days and, having hired from other providers before, our first experience of Just Go was beyond disappointing.

The vehicle was a 2024 registration but was in remarkably poor condition for its age: damaged/broken seating, burn holes in the flooring and badly marked leather.

More seriously, the freezer compartment had no door. We were not warned about this and fully stocked the fridge at the start of our holiday. Almost everything froze and was ruined, apart from items in the salad drawer. I had to defrost the fridge twice and remove ice simply to get the door to close.

When I reported this on return, the response was essentially: “Oh yes, we knew about that.” No apology or explanation. So Just Go apparently knew about the defect before renting the vehicle to us for 10 days but did not repair it or even warn us.

The rear bed was also filthy, with ingrained grime and what appeared to be blood stains.

Compared with other motorhome companies we have used, the overall experience was much less professional. With other providers, most of what you need is included; with Just Go, almost everything seemed to be an extra. We also found the depot atmosphere unwelcoming and the customer service disengaged.

Rather than immediately posting a negative review, I sent Just Go a detailed formal complaint and gave them the opportunity to respond. No one did.

For us, the combination of a knowingly defective fridge, filthy sleeping accommodation, poor vehicle condition and failure to respond to a formal complaint says it all.

If there is an alternative motorhome hire company available, based on our experience, I would use it.

Confirmed 14:00, van handed over at 16:10, refund promised but never paid

Collected a 6-berth motorhome at the Edinburgh branch in Broxburn on 31 August 2026 for five nights, booked in June through Indie Campers. Our group had two vehicles.

The branch staff were polite and answered emails quickly, and the van itself was fine. Everything around that went wrong.

Two days before pick-up our booked Adventurer was reallocated three times in 36 hours, with contradictory messages: one department called it "a lower category" and promised a refund of the rate difference, another said "not a downgrade". That refund was never paid.

The branch confirmed in writing that both vehicles would be ready together at 14:00. We arrived at 13:00. The second vehicle left around 15:00, ours was handed over at 16:10 with a dirty floor and no plates, bowls or pan, and we left at 16:20. We missed our prepaid first campsite.

After a deer strike on day one, the online incident report did not work, the chatbot could not find our booking, and the phone line was unreachable. The branch's answer to our emailed photos was to use the online form.

Our complaint was rejected two weeks later: under four hours late earns nothing under the rental terms, and the campsite is excluded. To be fair, the damage itself was handled correctly under our Premium plan.

Two stars for the people at the depot, who were clearly stretched on a busy day. Since the Indie Campers takeover, the organisation behind them does not deliver what it confirms in writing.

Terrible experience - avoid!

1 Star – Absolute Disaster: Unsafe Van, Massive Delays, and Zero Quality Control

Do not use this company unless you want your holiday ruined before it even begins.

Our recent experience with Indie Campers was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We had driven a long distance to collect our motorhome, scheduled for a 1:00 PM pick-up. We arrived slightly early at 12:45 PM, only to be told it wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. When we returned at 3:00 PM, it still wasn't ready, and staff had no idea when it would be. The office was full of angry customers all being fed the exact same excuses for their late vans. We were finally handed the keys and drove off at 5:00 PM—four hours late.

When we finally got the van, the condition was shocking: Take photos and videos and check everything on the van before you drive off!

Severe Interior & Exterior Damage: The seats were dirty, the exterior was heavily scathed, and the main door was literally held together with tape and mastic. The door was so hard to close, the handle broke off in my hand trying to close it!

Major Safety Hazard: The indicators were completely non-functional when we inspected the vehicle. How a rental company allows a vehicle onto the road with broken indicators, a basic, critical safety component, is beyond me. Pointing this out delayed us even further.

Subpar Extras: The paid "kitchen kit" was just a plastic basin crammed with loose, unorganised crockery and cutlery. We handed it back immediately.

Because of their 4-hour delay and safety fixes, we didn't reach our first campsite until after 10:00 PM. Our entire first evening was ruined; we simply went to sleep and left the next morning. To make matters worse, when we woke up to make a cup of tea, we discovered the gas bottle we had paid for was completely empty.

While they offered a partial refund after a painful back-and-forth process (the gas bottle, kitchen kit, and a meager £113 for the wasted day and atrocious experience), they didn't actually pay it and we had to do a charge back via our bank.

Avoid them at all costs!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS ! THIS IS NOT A UK OWNED COMPANY.

Also known as Bunk Campers and Indie Campers

My experience with this company was abysmal and that is putting it lightly. Missing pre ordered items then fobbed off when I asked where they were. Dirty stained mattress with insufficient bed linen provided. I had to buy a camping mattress on route at £60 to make it work.

Vehicle broke down half way through the trip, called and called with no answers, managed to limp the vehicle to the next town and only by a text message service with AI could I start speaking with the company. I eventually got a call handler pick up the chat and was told to repair the vehicle at my own cost and they would pay me back.

Took into the local garage. They flagged it and said it had been in the same garage 8 days earlier for the exact same fault. This means Indie Campers just turned it around and sent it straight back out. The garage told me it could cost a few hundred quid or they could clear the fault codes and see how it goes. I took the latter as I was wary of paying a big repair bill.

The vehicle worked for 1.5days then went into limp mode. I couldn’t get more than 20mph going up hills in the Highlands of Scotland.

All in all 4 angry voicemails over 3 days and not once did I get a call back. Another time said it was putting me through after 10 mins then cut off. Managed to get the AI chat bot again and it told me to pull over. Well I knew I wasn’t going to get assistance so I decided to limp it back to Edinburgh.

Not being able to get hold of the breakdown line I called sales and you guessed it. They picked up immediately. I was furious and the lady was practically laughing at me and said well I’m not sure I can be any help. Asked for a call back NOT A CHANCE no call back !

On checkout I was told, we can offer you 14% money back as compensation but if you don’t accept you’ll likely not get anything. Basically good luck with that. So I said yes.

3-weeks later and not a sign of the money coming back to me I am owed.

Terrible Experience .... Have Indie Campers broken JustGo?

I am writing this review very reluctantly but feel I need to make others aware of our experience before they book a camper van rental with Just Go.

Our experience during the booking process in March was excellent. The JustGo team, who I understand are based in Scotland, could not have been more helpful and friendly to deal with. We booked our campervan and paid our deposit confident we had made a good decision. However, sometime between making our booking and picking up our campervan, Indie Campers took over JustGo and our experience headed badly south from there.

During the lead up to our holiday, information started to arrive from Indie Campers which was just wrong and did not reflect what we had booked with Just Go. In the worst case, our booking showed a 2 berth Aero Van when we had booked a 5 berth van (we are a family of 5).

When we contacted Indie Campers, it was clear that we were dealing with an offshore call centre who did not understand the package we had booked with JustGo. They could not confirm what van we would receive and we also started to receive emails that were asking questions they already had the answer to and offering vague suggestions.

The Indie Campers IT systems continued to show incorrect information, asked for payment when we had already paid and did not align with anything we had booked. We continued to make contact with Indie Campers but the service reps clearly did not understand the JustGo services, and despite assuring us they would take ownership of our issue to resolution, we never heard back from anyone.

It took a lot of phone calls and caused a lot of stress before our holiday and we still didn’t have confidence that the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. It was just woeful.

After 2 weeks of calls and emails, we did finally get confirmation of our campervan type and that no money was owed by us. Once this was confirmed, we booked a 2pm pickup, however, we had to wait 3 hours at the depot to collect it. We did not leave until after 5pm and had to truncate our son’s birthday dinner as a result.

There was such a big backlog of people picking up RVs at the depot in Toddington that it put the poor JustGo representatives under a lot of pressure – the result being that we got a rushed 5 minute tour of the RV by a lady who clearly felt under pressure. It was just a terrible few hours for everyone.

A special shout out to Suzie and her team at Toddington who did their best under significant pressure. We also noticed at “drop off” that they have had to put up notices about tolerating abuse – how has it come to this?

The takeover of JustGo by Indie Campers ruined our Justgo experience. Unfortunately, the overall experience was so disappointing we will not be using JustGo again.

Also, a final word of warning …… Indie Campers issue an email that makes it a condition of the return of the deposit that we must complete an automated review process. This is not in the JustGo Ts&Cs and IMHO is not legal. I wasn't going to leave a review and just "move on" from this experience (life it too short) but as they hold our money and we want our deposit released, I have provided a review that reflects our experience above and hence why I have left one here - I just wonder what they will do with it?

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would.
We arrived two hours ago to collect the RV we booked a month in advance, and we are still waiting. What makes this even more frustrating is that people who arrived after us have already collected their RVs and left.

Nobody has properly explained what is happening. We are simply being told that someone is late and that there is nothing they can do. But that delay is now affecting our holiday and costing us valuable time.

The company may charge the person who is late a late fee, but we are the ones paying the price for the delay. Our holiday company will not compensate us for the hours we have lost waiting to collect an RV that was booked well in advance.

This is extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable customer service. We expected a smooth collection process, but instead our holiday has already been negatively affected before it has even properly started.

several issues with the camper that were never resolved

We had several issues with the camper. Bed slats fell out of one of the beds making it unusable. We were only given 3 out of 4 sets of bedding we paid for. USB points did not work. Wait times to collect were very long. I raised the issues on 4 occasions both with their support system and there process at the end of the hire and with the staff directly. So far after over 2 weeks I only have responses from AI and nothing from a person. I used them many times in the past but since taken over by indie campers the quality and service has become terrible. I recommend using someone else.

Dreadful service. Booked a 2pm pickup service from the London Liton depot, confirmed on my booking. Arrived early, 2 staff dealing with returns and contracts. Now 3.37pm and still not served. Staff rude too. Dreadful service will not use Justgo again.

Hi, the camper-van itself was in fair condition, a lot of scuff marks on outside that didn’t bother us, my bother had to spend a few hours cleaning, again that we didn’t mind. Our main problem was the paper work which was incorrect and when we noticed this (Friday evening 5pm) they had closed, insurance papers had different names under different license numbers and when we tried to contact someone about this to get corrected no one available to take call just AI, tried calling numbers on Saturday but still no answers, everyone was unable to drive. Still waiting on a reply. Avoid these if possible as we are 3 days into our trip and still didn’t get back. Hoping maybe this will prompt them in getting back.

They were ok when they were Justgo

They were ok when they were Justgo, but I will never touch them again, from the start it was chaos, when booking was told collection time was between 2pm and 4pm, on the day when I check (with a human not AI) that I could not pick it up until 4pm (strictly), I arrived at 2pm onsite and was greeted well, no problem van was ready at 2pm !, would have made a significant issue driving for 5hours if I left it until 4pm, then get back, dropped off at 10am, told all is good deposit was returned no issue, then the following evening I noticed I had been charged £250, with no explanation, this took half a day to get" cleaning fee" excessive pet hair and mud, we didnt take a pet and its been dry for months, there was no mud !, also be aware the vans do not come with kitchen kit (plates, cups etc), that's now £30 extra as well as parking my car, I have used justgo for nearly 10 years no issue, but Indi Campers are just ripoff merchants, £200 to prepare the van, then £250 to clean it so then next poor person has to pay £200 to prep it and again £250 to clean it, wow, that should be illegal, I'm disputing the charge and taking them to small claims, luckily they even sent me before and after pics in my dispute, massive mistake by them, evidence is clear no deep clean needed) , please be aware and think twice, I wish I had realised they were trading as a new company and not Justgo anymore.

I would strongly advise others to think…

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using this company.

Our experience started with waiting over two hours just to collect the vehicle. Things only got worse from there.

Additional late return options and an extra night's hire were added to our booking that we never requested only enquired about. I contacted the company and had the extra night removed, this was confirmed.

Despite this, seven days after returning the motorhome and being told there was nothing left to pay with John in Broxburn they still charged my credit card £387.52 for the extra night that I never had.

I have now contacted customer services twice. On the first occasion, they admitted it was their mistake and promised a refund. On the second, they admitted the refund had never even been processed and assured me it had now been authorised. Days later, I'm still waiting.

Because of their error, I'm now paying interest on my credit card while they continue to hold my money.

Mistakes can happen, but the way this has been handled has been extremely disappointing. Poor organisation, poor communication and very poor customer service. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

The check in process was shocking

The check in process was absolutely appalling.

Received an email from them the day before the booking saying it would be busy and there might be a queue, so arrived early (1.30pm) to be at the front. It turns out that the queue of customers means nothing. The queue which governs is the queue of vans being cleaned etc. So arriving promptly just meant I spent more of the afternoon in their offices waiting and (maddeningly) watching others arrive later and jump ahead. Why not let people know on the day where their van is in the queue so they can arrive later ?

Their systems had not recognised my online payment of the booking balance over a month ago. Even though I had an email confirming the balance had been paid, they couldn’t move forward with the check in until someone in Portugal had done something with that. Another 30 minutes lost.

And the comfort pack I booked - table & chairs, sheets, etc - was not available as “their cleaners had let them down”. That could have also been flagged in advance so we could organise alternatives. Oh, and they couldn’t refund me for that in the office - that will take up to 15 days to be paid.

Once we arrived at our destination we found that the water heater wasn’t working due to an error code on the controls. The telephone technical support helped me reset it, but why was it handed over like that ?

Oh, and they hadn’t filled the water tank, meaning that shortly after getting set up at the campsite we had to pack up and drive to a tap to fill it up.
