Chong Krasnesky at the Waldorf
Chong Krasnesky at the Waldorf, MD location had excellent customer service. She gave us a lot of options to chose from to best fit what works for our budget. She was extremely helpful and did not rush or pressure us to get anything just to make a sell. She has the best customer service I have ever experienced in a retail store.
Hung up on me.
I bought an engagement ring through a promotional plan. It ended and they slammed me with over 2k. I called to see about paying off the balance to avoid the charge since I missed the promotional end date (barely) by mistake, they said no and the rude woman hung up. No, we can work with you as a valued customer, even charge something, but I got nothing and I always pay on time and was not aware the charge was a whopping 2K+ let alone the promotion ended. Crooks.
Auburn NY store
I was at the Auburn NY store and I haven't been in in forever. I had 2 broken pieces and Patrick was awesome. he looked up each one found that I had warranties and it will cost me nothing to get them fixed. He also cleaned my other jewels foe me and reshaped my ring that was bent up.
Promotional fees
Promotional fees. 10 days after the date hit with a huge interest. You can not encourage paperless statements and see that I was not subscribed to email and be ethical. No text to advise. I will never use Kay jewelry again and encourage others in the same. Bye
Screw Kay jewelers for not disclosing…
Screw Kay jewelers for not disclosing to me that the black shine on my husband’s $450 titanium ring was a coating that comes off and can’t be refinished. They wouldn’t replace or refund. I had been a loyal customer for years but no longer. The store manager of the Tilton New Hampshire location treated me like an idiot, despite the fact the quality is the ring was not disclosed at purchase.
I have been a loyal customer for years
I have been a loyal customer for years. I purchase something from there at least twice a year for my wife using their store credit card. I guess something happened where automatic payments were not taken out and I have been getting harassing calls daily threatening legal action if a minimum payment of under $40 was not received. It’s embarrassing!
I will no longer do any business with Kay Jewlers. Go to Jarred instead
Don't waste your money here
Don't waste your money here. Wife had her ring maybe a month and it snapped. Kay jewlers wouldn't do anything because we didn't buy the extended warranty. Clearly it's a defect.
What do you expect?!?
Personally, I have had good experiences with Kay Jewelers. Jewelry I have purchased recently & over the years is still brilliant, beautiful and even durable through my constant everyday activity. But thats also why I purchase it - holding up through the busy every day wear & tear.
Unfortunately, many people have complaints. I think realistic expectations need to consider that chain retail jewelers like Kays are consider the "fast food/drive thru of jewelers". Overproduction of products made cheaply and in a rush should suggest the overall quality/ longevity. Granted all items should pass basic Quality Assurance procedures and customer service should be of high importance, but really you will never get professional service or a filet mignon from a McDonald's!?! Be realistic that this is an every day, replace after a few years type jeweler.
Sadly, Kay's is not what it was 15-20 years ago, both in products and customer service. But I recommend people be aware and have realistic expectations if shopping at a chain jeweler.
Absolutely terrible experience...
Absolutely terrible experience...
Run, don't walk - I would never recommend kay after what they did to me. Disgusting!!!!
The associate we dealt, AWFUL!
The associate we dealt with at the Fallen Timbers location, was the worst experience we've ever had there. She offered zero help with our warranty issue. She has no interest in helping return customers at all. Highly disappointed!
Do not order from here
Never received my order i was scammed and so was a friend of mine
KAY IS TRASH AND THEIR LIES
To all customers, I strongly urge you DO NOT BUY FROM KAY. If you buy something with a promo they will not advised you of a 3 day grace period after the promo is up, to pay what you have in full, in return they will charge you 29% interest. KAY is WRONG and unprofessional for doing this. After 30 minuet supervisor conversation, I was advised they just dot not let people know of the grace period. Which in fact are screwing the hard working people over that buy from KAY. KAY is a joke. If this place went bankrupt it would be for the best. KAY, go screw yourself.
For important jewelry pieces, don't go to Kay's
I have never published a negative review however I want others to benefit from my horrible experience.
Back in mid-November 2023, I visited the local Kay's in Edgewater NJ to purchase a Christmas gift for my elderly mother. The ask was simple: I needed a necklace (1) with a clasp that was easy for elderly fingers to open and close, and (2) that could thread through her pendant loop. The sales lady then proceeded to show me several magnetic clasps and a resizable necklace, as we discussed my requirements and what would be best.
After much back and forth, which included sending my mother who is living abroad the photos of the clasps and necklace, I selected one. The sales lady then took a photo of it and forwarded it to the repair center along with the necklace. Just before my trip shortly before Christmas, I went into the store to pickup the necklace. This was where Kay's severe lack of customer service and professionalism was fully demonstrated.
First, the necklace was no longer resizable meaning it could not be adjusted to be worn over the head — a very useful alternate way to put it on that was highlighted to me by the sales lady. What she failed to mention was that by changing the clasp, the necklace would no longer be adjustable, something I would never know.
Second and more disastrous, the magnetic clasp that we had so painstakingly selected was replaced with a totally different magnetic clasp that, due to its spherical shape, would not fit through the pendant. This change was not communicated to me or the sales lady before it was made.
Third, the cost of the magnetic clasp that I selected cost substantially more than the necklace itself! I was fine paying the extra amount if it offered my mother exactly what she needed.
The final rub was that my mother was so looking forward to finally being able to wear her pendant after so long AND over the Christmas season none the less, and this could not happen. The intangible cost was so very high.
I would strongly recommend anyone looking for important jewelry pieces to look elsewhere and not at Kay's. The professionalism and customer service is appalling and totally lacking.
Placed an order for an engagement ring…
Placed an order for an engagement ring that was on clearance. The website reflected 1 left in stock. Made the purchase, paid for the ring. About an hour later, I received an email stating that my order had been cancelled due to inventory issues. Would have expected to receive a phone call explaining the issue, and possibly working to find a close replacement. No such luck. I called and asked for help to find a solution other than just cancel and good luck to you. The Customer Service Agent said nothing could be done. I asked for a manager, and was told I would receive a call back. Did not happen. Would recommend taking your business elsewhere. Don't waste your time on this company.

Don’t go there for ring repairs!!
Horrible experience getting my fiancé engagement ring repaired at the Glenbrook Mall (Fort Wayne) location. Was called a liar and treated poorly by an employee there. Was told it’d be done in 2 weeks. They ended up shipping THREE different times which took over a month to get it back. No one emailed or called me to update me, I had to call several times to check on the status. Talked to customer service several times and nothing was done. Not professional at all!!
Pinky ring
Wanted a pinky ring so hubby went to Kay’s 4311 Norfolk pkwy west Melbourne to purchase my Christmas gift. He had cash and they wouldn’t accept it. He had to buy a gift card and then purchase the ring and also the additional warranty. I had the ring sized in January, weeks after Christmas. Several weeks later it was ready. At first it looked fine but I didn’t wear it all the time. One day in March I noticed a chip where it was soldered. Upon further examination you could tell it was a terrible sizing job. Went back to Kay’s and the first thing we were asked was did you purchase the warranty? I asked what difference does it make. It was a terrible job and needs to be fixed. The very condescending clerk smirked and repeated that it was good he bought the additional warranty. So what she was saying was I would have had to pay to have it fixed without this additional purchase. So disgusting. Have always bought from Kay’s but that is the last thing we will buy there. Beware!
Good Mens watch collection
Love the mens watch collection they have, prices are higher than online stores like Macy or jomashop.
I returned some jewelry that I had…
I returned some jewelry that I had bought for my girlfriend, well it didn't work out so she gave me back the jewelry and I returned it because I needed the cash. Well this was 2 11 of this year. I still have not received my refund check because the people handling it are incompetent. They messed up the address on the check 4 or no 5 times now and I still have not received my refund. Horrible company
I brought a chain in for repair
I brought a chain in for repair. The chain had one break in it. When I picked it up it had two breaks. The manager at the Merrimack Outlets told me "this is how they have to made the repair." The two breaks are noticeable and the cost was $130. I will never do business with them again.
