From start to finish Kilimanjaro Climbing Company supported us to ensure everything was as smooth as possible for us to climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Pick up from the airport and all transfers had drivers there to pick us up promptly. Thanks to Abi and Omni there was no stress or worry.
Our mountains guides were Edwade, Eugene and David-the voices of calm and confidence from beginning to end-always encouraging, never pushy-we trusted them completely to keep us safe and well. We really understood the meaning of the word "Team" under Edwade's tutelage, no one left behind, always gently helping and supporting, encouraging us to eat and drink when we lost our appetites. Edwade clearly was well respected on the mountain by all his staff and also by other guides that were there.
It was nice to be with a company who were smart and looked like they were also enjoying the walk themselves-some guides seem to be just going through the motions to get people through.
After our successful summit on 11/10/22 we took the option of going to Zanzibar for the full R&R experience. The capital Stone Town was amazing and boy were we ready for the well earned rest by the beautiful beach.
My last thanks go to Simon, the owner of KCC, who seemed to know exactly what was going on while we were there and helped to sort out a minor problem with no hassle at all.

This really was a trip of a lifetime. I am almost pleased COVID delayed it by 2 years as It would now only be a faded memory. It is still all so fresh and quite honestly prefer the pole pole life there than the busy life of the. UK. 
I can not thank Simon enough for all the help and support he has given me over the last 2years with changing bookings and flights due to the pandemic. But he really does go above and beyond for anyone who is climbing with the KCC. 
Words cant describe how beautiful the mountain is and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you anyway. But from looking around camp in the evenings and seeing people on route, the guides and porters we have treat us like family. It is evident how much they love their job and being on the mountain, always smiling and always willing to help you if you are stuck. They couldn’t do enough for us, warm welcomes into camp by everyday, sing songs and my boots have never been so clean thanks to Simon’s team.
The tents were the perfect size and I hired the sleeping bag and pillow which were amazing. I was toasty warm all night long and the pillow was thick and really comfy too! 
The food!! No clue how the chef’s produced such tasty food. I was not expecting this at all but I was blown away with the flavours, volume and variety we had on the mountain. 
The guides when out walking are just incredible too. They help and support you if you are struggling and really do know how to help, they remind you to drink water a lot. Which I thought I would find irritating. But nope. Ultra useful reminders as I definitely wasn’t drinking enough whilst out. They are always happy and know how to keep you safe, especially on summit night. We had 5 guides for our group of 11 and they all came up on summit night, walking beside us, singing and keeping our spirits high as it is does feel never-ending, but also checking on those where the altitude was having an effect.
The celebrations at the end are also emotional, you all become one big happy family and a lot of us have spoken about how returning to the UK and “normality” doesnt feel right.
After the mountain we went on and did a 3 day safari. Our 2x guides for the 10 of us, again incredible. Really knowledgeable about all the animals, trees, birds. No questions left unanswered and they did an amazing job at getting the best spots for photos whilst staying on the roads and listening out on the radio for BIG 5 spots. The accommodation was perfect, especially after 8 days in the tent and the land cruisers were perfect for the safari. None of these big flashy land drovers, but simple and perfect trucks. 
We ventured into Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorogoro crater national parks. With the time of year, the Serengeti would’ve been too far a drive and couldn’t squeeze this in sadly. But these 3 did not disappoint.
I then went to Zanzibar for a week. And again just breath taking. The flights were easy and I had airport transfer to and from Nungwi and I stayed in Beach Amaan Bungalows. Right on the sea front and again simple yet perfect. I spent the week mainly scuba diving but did have a deep tissue massage from Abi (the driver’s) wife which was incredible and really good value for money. I am a physiotherapist and this is the best massage I have received in a long time.
I used Spanish dancer divers on Simon’s recommendation and this was only 5mins walk along the beach.
I also booked horse riding whilst out there and they use whatsapp so was really easy to do. 
The service was pole pole as is everything in Africa, but I loved it. The food was delicious again, as it has been everywhere.
I was out there on my own in Zanzibar, as a female and felt safe all the time.

I wanted to learn some swahili, and every person I met and spoke with gave me something new, but also could speak really good English.
I would go back in a heartbeat and do it all again if I could. But I left nothing behind. I did everything I wanted whilst also relaxing and enjoying the sun shine but have left behind no regrets.
I can not thank Simon enough, I really cant.

This was without doubt the best experience of my life. We chose the longer Lemosho route to give us the best chance of reaching the summit. Our whole group were successful in reaching the summit.
I cannot fault anything - the guides and porters were so friendly and inspiring- nothing was too much for them. The food was amazing - how do they manage to cook the stuff half way up a mountain?! It was suitably challenging and a great opportunity to reconnect with nature and switch off digitally.
We also did a 3 day safari at the end which was a great way to finish the trip. My only regret was not visiting Zanzibar for the final few days.
Worth every penny and I would recommend Kilimanjaro Climbing Company to anyone. You'd be mad to climb Kili with anyone else.

I had the best time climbing Kilimanjaro with the KCC. They provided everything and more. You get excellent comprehensive trip notes, knowledge of the route options that are tailored to your groups needs as well as the assurance from the KCC team when booking, asking questions and seeking advise etc etc. Here’s the more bit…The team KCC have on the mountain is second to none. They make your trip/experience so special! Motivating you, making great food, looking out for you, creating a great atmosphere, fantastic leadership. I could easily go on. If you are looking for a company to climb Kilimanjaro with I can not recommend the KCC high enough. They were awesome 👏

Amazing company!
We had our trip with KCC ("Kilimanjaro Climbing Company") and they are absolutely amazing. We are family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids at the age of 14 and 12) and we choose Machame route for 7 days. Simon recommended us the route and all the points he made was spot on. Our guides (Prosper, Professor and Paul) were super. They helped us when we struggled and gave us super guidance and motivation. Every day brief was spot on very informative. We feel their experience and appreciated their positivism. Our chef cooked amazing food which gave us all the energy we needed. Our private toilet was always ready and it was always in top condition. Our porter team was also amazing with super fast set up time and always have a big smile on their faces. We could not make the summit without their help. From the moment we landed to the airport to the moment we left Prosper and his team looked after us like his own family. We cannot recommend KCC enough. KCC is one of the (if not the) best company out there.

We are so glad we chose KCC for our trip. Simon was really responsive to any questions we had when booking (including a phone call from the airport on Boxing day - sorry Simon). The whole team were great and looked after us not just on the mountain, but from the moment we arrived at the airport right up until we left Arusha. Lovely guides and crew. I looked for a while online before choosing Kilimanjaro Climbing Company. The reason I choose them was the promise of a small company experience where you were cared for as a client at every step, who had long standing staff showing they valued their team and the option to continue onto a safari and Zanzibar after the trip. The company exceeded all my expectations and I couldn’t recommend them more.

Prior to the trip, Simon was fantastic with communication. With covid still impacting travel plans he was flexible and supportive at every step. Even answering calls on Boxing Day! This high level of care and service continued when we arrived in Zanzibar with Geoffrey and Prosper handling everything so that all we needed to worry about was getting to the top of the mountain. Although as Prosper taught me Hakuna Matata, there was no need to worry! It was easy to rent equipment from the company, even at the last minute.

During the trek we had a fantastic team who were experienced, efficient and genuinely cared about our group of 5. David was fantastic at leading the group, he went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and doing well. Prosper was great at sharing information with us about each day, helping us individually and organising the team. I noticed other groups where you could see the guides were not as attentive and for when you feel challenged, unwell or anxious having a team who you trust and support you makes all the difference. Even as we came down from the summit the rest of the team at camp came to meet us, carrying some of our bags on the final part and greeting us. As well as the excellent team two other noticeable differences were; the private toilet and the higher camp before summit night. KCC pay extra for you to camp 1 hour closer to the summit. This made a huge difference for us not just on the ascent but descent as well. The rocks were steep and challenging between the lower and higher camp and we all agreed that it made a significant difference in our summit success. It also meant we arrived for sunrise which was beautiful. The food was tasty and nutritious, especially the soup! The camp was always set up before we got to camp with snacks/hot drinks prepared for us when we got in. Couldn’t thank the team enough!

We decided to descend in one day and Geoffrey sorted everything out with the hotel to give us an extra night. The hotel has good food and is a nice, comfortable stay. It also has a lovely pool area and you can book a massage. After our decent we met Prosper and Geoffrey to hand back our rental equipment and get our certificates. They also introduced us to our Safari Driver Ommi. Ommi was fantastic! He clearly loves his job and is brilliant at it. We only booked for one day at the safari but were amazed at how much we saw and how attentive Ommi was. Couldn’t recommend it more. It was great to see David again who picked us up from the Safari and who also took us to the airport (very early in the morning!). Everything was perfect!

Very please with the trip we arranged through Kilimanjaro Climbing Company. Everything went smoothly, Simon was very helpful with all our queries here in UK and when we have been taken over in Tanzania, Geoffrey and the crew was spot on. Our trip went 100% enjoyable and really recommended. All of us submitted (5 people and 3 guides), the guides was very knowledgeable and really made the difference, helpful, cheerful and reliable. We also did Safari with KCC and we enjoyed every moment 😊

Really good hiking experience up Kilimanjaro.

Well-prepared and organised team at Kilimanjaro Climbing Company, who were very quick and responsive in communications, and both careful and diligent in managing the hike itself, ensuring that guests were well-informed and safe throughout.

The team was also flexible and had excellent local knowledge, and accommodative to special requests. Highly recommended.

A great company to coordinate all travel needs while in Tanzania. Our trip consisted of a day hike on Shira Plateau, a visit to Faraja Orphanage (K.C.C. sponsored), several days on the Serengeti, and a short visit to the African Culture Center. Mr Simon/K.C.C. arranged all transportation and accommodations, as well as very knowledgeable guides. Our visit was very specialized, but it did not deter Mr Simon from taking it on and producing a once in a lifetime experience. A well run outfit.

One of the greatest adventures of my life.
Thanks to KCC crew I was able to summit Kilimanjaro throughout an amazing 8 days experience crossing Lemosho route. Prosper Mosha, the leading guide was very careful and truly guided me in the hardest parts of the climbing. The porters and chef were very kind, polite and supportful assembling the best possible team to help me reach Uhuru Peak.
We also did a short safari in Tarangire with a very clever driver who knew the best spots to see the wildlife. And on the last day we had one of the most rich and fulfilling moments of my life when we went to support Faraja Orphanage, helping those kids was a priceless experience!

So glad i booked through KCC. The owner Simon was constantly in touch with me, quick to answer any queries i had or any advise required with regards to my Trek / Safari and Zanzibar. As he has lived in Tanzania / Zanzibar he is very knowedgeable with any general questions you may have too. The Trek is well organised and he has a good local team who are equally helpful.

Amazing adventure which started right at the point of booking. Simon was on hand to take us through a seamless booking system and no question was ever too much! Always on the other end of the phone!

The team in Tanzania were professional and personable. Again nothing was too much. They put their heart and soul in our adventure and we cannot really express our gratitude enough.

If you want to get up Kilimanjaro then this is the company to go with! Excellent, professional service, especially the guys on the ground who work extremely hard to ensure you achieve your goal.

The time I spent with the guides and porters of the KCC will stay with me the rest of my life. The effort the guys put it to get me on the summit was incredible, I don't know how the porters shift the kit they do. Very friendly and patient and the singing at the end made me well up. I'm going back to Tanzania and I would recommend this company any time. My only niggles were the food sometimes (and that's down to me really being fussy) and our toilet disappearing with the Frenchman (fred) for 2 days. Other than that superb! and we also got to meet the children in the orphanage that the KCC sponsor, a life altering event for me personally. Issac, Amadeus, The Professor are like family now as are the porters, if you're going to go, I say go with KCC

KCC is an agency to recommend for its organization during the preparation of the trip, for the reception and monitoring of trekkers day by day, and for the safety.
The whole team is extremely devout and kind: porters, cook, waiter, guides ....

If I had to go back to Kili, I'll leave with Kcc without hesitation, and would be pleased to be on the mountain again with Prosper, Awaldi, amadeo, Iza, Ramazan, and all the others.

After a lot of research on the net, I finally narrowed down on KCC – Kilimanjaro Climbing Company. Two things which finally clinched the deal for KCC, one Simon who patiently answered all my barrage of queries, and other that KCC being a European company I felt would handle the logistics more efficiently & deliver as promised in comparison with a local company. And that’s exactly how it went. I was picked up as promised at the airport on arrival, taken to Tulia – which is a gr8 hotel – the guys were there next evening for pre-trek briefing , gear check. All our three guides Patrick, Professor, Prosper & off course Geoffrey speak good English and hence communication was not a problem. The next day on 17th Aug we set off as planned on the Lemosho route. Everything went well on the trek – each day the tents were pitched in and ready before we reached the camp with hot lunch waiting for us. The food quality & service was great. The support team consisting of 14 persons in total including the guides – for 3 climbers – was thoroughly well trained each one doing their job efficiently. On the last day before summit we were put at Kosovo Camp which is one hours further from Barafu Camp & 200 mts higher. This was a great idea as it cut down on our summit night effort and we could reach the Uhuru peak dot 7am for the sunrise.
A very big thanks to the KCC team for the very efficiently managed & successfully trek and I am very happy with my decision to go with them and would definitely recommend them 100% for the Kili trek.

The whole of the trip with KCC was fantastic! Simon was alway on hand to provide excellent advice before the trip and the team of porters/chefs and guides during the climb were great. In particular Ewaldi (aka Professor), David (Rafiki) and Paul were such a huge support and friendly throughout. The safari after the climb was very rewarding and Ombeni was so impressive with his knowledge of the wildlife and where to get the best views of the most sought after animals. It was all in all, a great trip!
