Unprofessional informality

Good mending printers.
Long on pc repair assurances - short on formal evidence. Why would there be a worrying refusal to provide the normal security of an invoice detailing a customer's legitimate entitlement to evidence of what has been paid for, rather than just a nondescript till receipt?

Took our daughters lap top in for repair

Took our daughters lap top in.

The man at this computer shop took my daughter's disability money £307 to fix her gamer laptop and he had only vaccumed it out.

Charged us for a new mother board and screen.
There was nothing wrong with the screen!

Had it checked by another computer engineer he said he's charged you for dusting it love.

Complaint going into trading standards, he insisted on cash fortunately we insisted on credit card. ( Alarm bells rang when he was asking for cash)
Card company and bank informed.

He kept the lap top for two weeks for affect.

When we got it back it was still not working he said bring it in, I said like ok but it's lockdown on Thursday you could be shut for a month or even permanently.
His response, 'yeah I might'
Me:' ok so it's not a good idea to give you back then is it?'

Him: 'Well if you don't return it I can't fix it'

What the hell!! He had it two weeks and didn't 'fix it'

He was rude, arrogant wouldn't answer a direct yes or no question about what he'd done to it and if his work was guaranteed.
Talked over me and my wife.

We had to basically hold a gun to his head to get a written invoice which was a scrap of stamped paper on which he wrote
' screen replacement'
' motherboard replacement'
Charge £10!!! It was £307
Had to get him to change it to the correct amount.
I asked him where the old parts were that he'd removed as it was still fundamentally our property, he said oh I didn't replace it I repaired it!

Make your mind up!

Now not answering phone.

The fault?

A connection was lose, two second job.

So now I'm going to every review platform I can so he doesn't do the same to some one else.

He should wear a mask and change his name to Dick Turpin.

Very very angry mum and dad!!

Update:

Used someone else's phone to call.
He is still saying he did the work even though to get to the motherboard you have to remove the fans . The original tapes are all in place and screws unmarked.
It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to know he's a liar.
He changed his story three times about the alleged work too.

To be a good liar you need a good memory.
Tony ended up putting phone down on him.
We weren't getting anywhere.

Grrr
Footnotes

He will probably reply saying this is a false review, or a phantom review...no it isn't!
It's genuine and we have the evidence of dealing with this totally untrustworthy business.

Go elsewhere avoid like the plague!
