eReader itself is great and nice to be out of the Amazon ecosystem. But! Chinese, Vietnamese, and other non-Latin language support is really poor, with many characters appearing only as boxes or not at all. Given that I’d never had any issues with my Kindle Paperwhite from 2015, it’s frankly embarrassing for Kobo to still have these issues (for an ereader sold in Asia as well!)

I bought this refurbished thinking I could trust it, but every single time I close the lid on the sleep cover or put it in sleep mode myself, the screen freezes and I have to do a hard reset the next time I want to read. Often, the hard reset doesn't work and I have to try continuously for 15 to 20 minutes to get the e-reader to unfreeze. I definitely don't recommend purchasing refurbished products from Rakuten.
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my daughter after she researched whether to get a Kindle or Kobo. She anxiously waited for Christmas Day and was so disappointed that she could not connect it to the wi fi. We had several people with technical experience try to connect the Kobo but they were unsuccessful too. She then had to wait another 2 days to contact the support team who were also unable to help her connect to the WiFi. They sent her an address to return the Kobo and said they will replace it. There was No offer to pay for return postage and she still has to wait for another one to arrive. We do not know how long we will be waiting for a replacement but the waiting time and time spent trying to fix this faulty product has been extremely disappointing. Kathy
Works perfectly like new. Love the versatile design and multitude of personalization
Excellent sharp screen. Works flawlessly. Love the buttons for page turns.
The refurbished Kobo strobes into dark mode every time you press an onscreen button. Other than that, it works well. However, it’s an annoying, jarring, and possibly dangerous error considering those with epilepsy.
Product was as new.
