If I can make this zero stars I would, here is the reason why:
I recently joined LA Fitness a week ago, hoping it would be a valuable resource for my family's health. However, my experience with the kids club has been disappointing. The employees appear to be unengaged and fail to properly supervise the children. On one occasions, I have witnessed older children nearly hitting my 16-month-old, while the staff was distracted by their phones. I brought this to the attention of the sales lady who signed me up, but I must advise other parents to exercise caution before joining LA Fitness. The kids club does not seem to provide a safe environment for children. I also observed several issues that raised concerns. The employees were not attentive to their responsibilities, leaving the floor dirty and cluttered with toys that were a choking hazard for young children. Additionally, I witnessed an employee fail to supervise my 16-month-old child who was attempting to ingest a crayon. Overall, the facility did not appear to be well-maintained or safely managed.
I called the next day to cancel my membership because I lack confidence in the ability of the staff to ensure my child's safety. I informed the assistant manager of the situation and was dismayed by her lack of concern. Her response that the employee had to make a phone call to a family member was unacceptable and unprofessional, especially in a setting where the care and supervision of children is paramount.
Again parents be vigilant when choosing LA Fitness's kids club for their children, as my experience with them resulted in financial loss and anxiety, without any opportunity to focus on my health or utilize their facilities.
Disregarding customers
I have recently lodged a report against LA Fitness with the BBB.
Why should I have to mail a letter to cancel this membership? It seems unfair and dishonest to customers. In a world where everything is done online, your company should be focusing on helping customers, not making it difficult for them with unnecessary requirements. I didn't locate info to cancel your membership, so you have to cancel it!
In my recent discussion with a LA Fitness corporate agent, I was told about the option to cancel my membership at any time. The agent suggested going to a nearby gym personally to request termination with a manager. However, in a previous attempt to end my membership, I was instructed to continue for an extra 3 to 4 months due to a contractual obligation. When signing up for the membership, I was informed that it was on a monthly basis with no binding agreements or penalties for cancellation. This disparity has caused me to feel misled. Because of the inaccurate information provided during my initial attempt to terminate my membership in November 2023, I believe I should be reimbursed for previous months of membership. The recent email outlining the cancellation procedure lacked transparency and displayed a lack of concern for customer satisfaction, which I consider misleading. The instruction to mail a cancellation letter via USPS contradicts the newfound knowledge that I could have terminated the membership in person, heightening feelings of deceitfulness.
Worst place
Worst place. Rude manager. My nephew is visiting me from abroad for the first time. He wanted to join me for just one day and he is 13 years old. The general manager did not let him in unless he pays 20$ for a day pass.. How come you do not let him in? This is an unaccepted break from the LA fitness contract I signed with them. Also, how come my cousin( 50 years) who visited me last year, and was allowed a day pass for free?
I do not know how I persevered in this place for 3 years multiclub membership. Nasty bathrooms, broken machines. Now I know how could all that happen under this corrupt management.

I used the weight room and get no peace of mind.
West Los Angeles Gym. I used the weight room. Above the loud music, I had heard a man moaning loudly in the empty cycling studio behind me. He left the door fully open with a heavy weight as a door stopper. I pulled it out and closed the door shut. Weights should belong in their place and not put on a door meant to be closed. This time i made sure it was challenging for him. No one should raise their voice unless someone leads a class. A sign should be put up regarding loud noise.

Absolutely horrible customer service and atmosphere at the Marana LA Fitness. My daughter is still being charged, 3 months later, not just for a basic membership, which she canceled after a month ( because not only was the staff unhelpful and unfriendly for the most part, but she felt unsafe around some of the male patrons.) but also for a personal training package, which she clearly confirmed with the trainer was only for one month. They continue to charge her a ridiculous rate, I think its 180 per month and now have withdrawn over $800 from her bank account, which has put her into overdraft for two months. She has called multiple times, with very little help from anyone.. just empty promises, or even the trainer telling her to just close her bank account! This is absolutely terrible customer service on every level and shows how little regard LA Fitness has for its customers. Stop stealing peoples hard earned money and take accountability for these severe oversights in your business practice. We are going to report LA Fitness to everyone we can think of, BBB, news outlets, etc. It may seem overboard, but if they are doing this to my daughter, they are for sure doing this to many other customers. Absolutely terrible on every level!
Closed Oswego site continues to charge me for a closed location for 8 months
I was a member at Oswego Illinois location. They closed in September 2023 and I was never notified by email, mail, ot text.
But they were happy to keep charging me through May 2024.
With a change in work hours I haven't been there all that time.
When I asked for a refund since I only had single site membership Mike CS 1st offered to refund 3 months and my annual fee which they charged me for May 2024. But I told Mike I expect more. My membership was only good at Oswego, IL.
Now they said Mike only authorized one month and Annual Fee.
So these people think it's ok not notify you of a site closure and then to charge you forever for a membership/location that doesn't exist anymore. Thank God I caught it when I did. How long would these people charge me???

Prejudice much?
Awful experience with trainers at the Wyomissing, PA location. So awful I forfeited my training contract and had to pay to get out of it. Not only is it unorganized, lacks professionalism but the last trainer I had was unabashedly prejudice against the LGBT community and he also detests fat women! All things I wouldn’t know but he couldn’t keep his mouth closed. I will never go back. I even called the main office to complain. He is still listed as a trainer.
Unable to cancel for over a year
I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for over a year now. Any and all email replies I receive are unhelpful. When I’ve been into the local gym they refuse to help me cancel my membership. At this point I’m going to have to flag their charges as fraud.

Money grabbers, nothing human in them, Tamim, fake doctor and Alyssa, bad personal trainer, stay away from them. Very Bad customer service. Charged me over CDN$600 for 1.5 hour personal trainer fees with Alyssa after I asked to cancel the service due to past and future surgeries. Stay away from LA Fitness in Cambridge. I hope they will close them the same as Kitchener LA Fitness facility.

Edward, your front desk associate/manager from your 5730 NW 183rd St., Hialeah, FL 33015 location provided my wife and me with outstanding customer service (went above and beyond) as evidenced by ensuring us access to our LA Fitness location (Bayonne, NJ) and set up our scheduled yearly payment fee on Tues, 4/23,24 as a courtesy whereas majority of health clubs would enforce strict policies with no exceptions of utilizing any LA Fitness gym location unless payments of any past due fees are PIF. Edward made this process completely easy and effortless for us, ensuring we were absolutely taken care of and happy with his customer service hence our personal needs were met, which he succeeded. Yes and again, Edward exceeded our expectations and made us felt like he took good care of us "like family!" That being said, please acknowledge Edward for providing my wife and me with distinguished-outstanding customer service excellence as he exemplifies what the "elite and regal service industry" and what all other LA Fitness staff members (in all locations) needs to engrain and and ensure is always and consistently provided to all clients when providing customer service which I am confident will positively impact greatly in the long run for the LA Fitness brand name! The positive interaction and outstanding customer service that we received from Edward impacted positively my wife and I that we choose to continue to stay as loyal long-time clients of the LA Fitness Brand and not even consider switching to any other health club brand! UNPROFESSIONALISM AND INAPPROPRIATE PERSONAL TRAINER
I recently asked a friend of mine to refer me to a personal trainer. They mentioned DERILL ROGERS (who works in the Bayonne, NJ location at 40 Goldsborough Drive) would be great, but since I was hesitant I asked my friend if I could watch their session from a distance. So, that is exactly what I did. I was actually disgusted by his terrible attitude and behavior. THERE SEEMEED TO BE A LOT OF INAPPROPRIATE TOUCHING!!!!!!! I really couldn't believe my eyes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from him and this location!!!!! I AM SOOOOOO DISGUSTED THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS SOMEONE LIKE HIM WORKING HERE WITH HIS UNPROFESSIONALISM AND MISCONDUCT!!!!!!!
Edison, NJ Club has equipment never repaired
Location in Edison NJ has Treadmills and Weight machines that have been out of order for weeks and months in some cases. Despite asking management and calling Corporate Customer Service line, they have not been repaired and show no sense of urgency to get this done. Club is overcrowded so this is an issue

Wanted to give long overdue & well-earned kudos to Leticia, manager. I should mention I am a geezer, inherent in which is technological ineptness.
I went through months of no access to my phone or watch through Apple’s unmitigated incompetence, and therefore lost my check in ID on Phone and watch.
Laticia was like an angel! She did all she could to make my sign in effortless and expeditious, I’m sure over and above her job description!. This went on for months!
I was shocked when I found out Leticia was a manager, because I expected the manager to be hiding in the back, not up front & hands-on & even greets clients coming and going.
She is competent, professional, & a sweetheart to deal with !

We were visiting from Ocala where we are regular gym people which he appreciated with no sales pressure and kind enough to offer us a one week pass if our stay was extended. Every year they don’t have any AC the aerobics rooms are humid- can’t breathe when you complain to manager they will say they will resolve nothing ever gets done ✔️ there’s a gentleman name Mike he is rude just say nothing the can do
The restrooms are dirty, the aerobics classes floor is filthy , no sanitary wipes
We have to clean the gym our self’s.
Today I filed a complaint to Headquarters
With no resolution, they are good to take your monthly payment, maintenance fee

Probably the Nastiest Gym
This is the nastiest Gym! I’ve called LAFitness Headquarters and sent an email with pictures of how nasty the bathrooms are …all the lockers broken into …and how old, torn and scratched up the furniture and equipment is …and nothing has been done. There are also no cameras for their customers’ safety. Seems they are only interested in taking people’s money and will not fix, clean or replace anything.
