I ran across advice on Lawline to someone who asked if he had to pay inheritance tax on an inheritance from a state in the US. Instead of Lawline referring readily accessible information from the IRS, Internal Revenue Service, (amerikanska skatteverket) which clearly states that there is no federal income tax on inheritance, the advisor came up with some obscure nonsensical answer from a book of law. He should have referred the individual to the tax authorities in the state where the inheritance was received as most of the information is readily available online.
I would advise against asking Lawline for anything that doesn't have to do with Swedish law.
