Compromised security
Got a phishing mail from a spammer posing as Ledger. I realized immediately what it was, since I do not expect Ledger to send corporate email messages from a gmail account.
Problem is that the spammer correctly quoted all my sensitive data: name, surname, home address, home phone and mobile phone, all of which should have been closely guarded by Ledger themselves.
Two options here: someone at Ledger sold me out or someone stole my data from them. In either case their security proved totally unreliable. If they can't even keep my data safe what would they do with my monies?

Dreadful Customer Service
So, further to my earlier reviews of the Ledger Nano X ... they kindly sent me a new Nano X - was that because of my negative Trust Pilot reviews, who knows?
So, the new Nano X arrived and I charged it up only to receive an immediate message: "Battery Problem. Charging Stopped." there was also a troubleshooting link which I followed six times to no effect. I left the Nano X on charge overnight, but the Battery menu still showed no percentage charge, just an “X”, no charging symbol and the same message "Battery Problem. Charging Stopped."
In short, the new Nano X will not charge or even hold a residual charge.
For readers of this review: please note that Ledger device battery issues are a constantly reported problem and one they really do need to address!!!
So I again contacted Ledger "Support". I first thanked them for sending me a new Nano X; then explained that the new Nano X would not charge and that I had tried all their suggested battery issue remedies; that I'd been using a Nano X for two years and so was not exactly new to how it "should" work, and that the new Nano X they had sent was faulty.
I asked again for yet another replacement and questioned how they'd they could have sent a brand new Nano X which would not charge? I added that Ledger device battery issues must be of concern for such a reputable company?
Their response: "Try our battery issue solutions"!
I screamed a strangulated email back saying I'd tried everything and that none of their "solutions" worked.
Their response - NOTHING! They have once again gone "silent".
Maybe Ledger will read this TP review and get their atrocious "customer services" sorted?
So readers, if you need support from Ledger write a TP review!
Unbelievably poor experience with Support
Unbelievably poor experience with Ledger support. I raised a ticket to provide information about a variant I had encountered of a common scam. This scam was described in its general form on the Ledger web pages and I believed I had seen a more sophisticated variant. A week later I got an email from Ledger Support with no words, just a link to their old support page. I replied pointing out the deficiency. The next day I got another email with no words, just a link to their top level support search page. I don't know what this game is about. If they could just debase themselves to write one sentence of language to me it might become clearer.
23 Nov.2023: You asked for the ticket number. It is 1333234.
I got another empty email from you today. Each day I receive an empty email from 'support at ledger.fr' (interface here won't allow me to enter an actual email address).
Just send me one email that says something like: "Thank you for the information you sent. We have taken note." And then I'll know that the support interface actually works, and you can close the ticket! But receiving an empty email every day is just exasperating.
It is telling, and frankly alarming given the product you make and the assets I have in it, that 32 of the most recent 40 Ledger reviews here on Trust Pilot, as of today, are 1 star. 8-O !!!

Beware of Ledger
Beware of Ledger. They permit fraudulent phishing schemes to be added to one’s account and then claim that it is the user’s responsibility to detect the fraud and that it is the user’s problem, not theirs. The mere fact that the scam is permitted to be posted to an account lends an air of legitimacy to it. Ledger is supposed to protect its users but has failed miserably. It’s no wonder why they don’t permit reviews to be posted on their web site.
Here is the chain of communication:
My initial email to Ledger:
On 8/20 0.0234578, ETH valued at $39.03 was charged to my account for "AAVE: Airdrop Recipient." Assuming this was all legitimate, on 8/23, I began to follow the instructions provided and apparently sent 5 different cryptos somewhere (I don't know where they went). The Transaction IDs for the 9 transactions that occurred were 0xf59e53c1214cbb1f2d52ad34cae97065b0d9c813773b3f672c7df2950ba9db76 for 1INCH (2 transactions), 0xeeb26a66e8f52b971bf50f25cefc3e5cb2e3b565a5ce3842a2dac44d9f0db672 for AAVE (2 transactions), 0xcc0de4dffeb0cc69fd39898f57f3b4727e900ccd2621369e30c98bed4946d2b4 for GNO, 0x3598983cab7e59988a66704dcc0a13461c71597e71cb4485af97a2eef272db60 for GRT (2 transactions) and 0xf70a4d622b0026bd5e78aec4ad3af5ffc059005a785a83fb423c7fb5449dea28 for OCEAN (2 transactions). Please let me know where my crypto went. Thank you.
Ledger’s initial response:
We will get back to you as soon as possible. If you have additional details to provide, feel free to reply to this message and include them here.
Thank you for your patience.
Best regards,
Ledger Support
Keep your 24-word recovery phrase safe and offline. Ledger Live will never have you input it, and there is no legitimate reason for anyone to ask you for it. Ledger does not provide phone support, or support on Telegram or Whatsapp. Beware of phishing sites pretending to be Ledger. Learn the basics about how to stay safe out there at Ledger Academy.
Ledger’s second response:
Hello,
I am sorry for your loss, but unfortunately what happened was you were scammed by a NFT. Unfortunately all transaction on the blockchain are irreversible, and immutable, they went to the scammer's address - 0x29488E5fD6bF9B3cc98A9d06A25204947ccCBE4D
Periodically, you might come across or receive an unfamiliar NFT within Ledger Live. If you encounter a new NFT in Ledger Live that you can't recall acquiring, please avoid engaging with or sending it, as it could potentially be malicious. Unfortunately, due to the inherent nature of public wallet addresses and the presence of NFTs on the blockchain.
We strongly recommend researching any NFTs received in Ledger Live. Since removing unwanted NFTs isn't feasible, we suggest the following:
1. Refrain from interacting with or sending NFTs of unknown origin until you've thoroughly investigated their legitimacy. Be cautious of QR codes or links; ignoring them if they seem suspicious is advised.
2. Conceal the NFT within Ledger Live – find more information here.
3. Rest assured, if these NFTs remain hidden and untouched, they won't impact your cryptocurrencies or other digital assets.
Certain NFTs have been "airdropped" to users. Scammers might entice you with a deceptive link, urging you to link your wallet addresses for a supposed "reward." Always remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
My response to Ledger:
No, you were scammed by the NFT, not me. You allowed it to be Included in my Ledger account and had the gall to charge me .0234578 ETH to put it there. You should be thankful I caught it when I did and I expect full restitution for your error.
Ledger’s third response:
Hello again,
The Ledger doesn't shield you from scams, there is no error on our end; your assets aren't stored on a Ledger but rather on the blockchain. A Ledger primarily provides a cold-storage solution that enables you to maintain self-custody of your funds; thus, you bear full responsibility for avoiding scam interactions, securing your assets. You mentioned receiving an AAVE Airdrop Recipient NFT and engaging with it, which ultimately resulted in the loss of your funds.
My response to Ledger:
Why don't you protect your users from scams or at least provide a warning when something like this is received? This seems to be an egregious fault on your part.

I have been a customer of Ledger since…
I have been a customer of Ledger since 2018 and have consistently admired their product offerings. I upgraded to the X model and was thoroughly impressed with its performance. The Ledger Live app, in particular, stood out to me due to its user-friendly interface and extensive range of supported cryptocurrencies. Although I encountered an issue with the Bluetooth functionality shortly after purchasing the device, I refrained from lodging a complaint as I generally avoid doing so. Nevertheless, I was able to successfully transfer my funds, which provided me with a sense of security.
Unfortunately, I encountered a problem last week when I attempted to transfer DOT from my Kucoin account to my Ledger. While the funds were received, the transaction did not appear in my transaction history. In an effort to rectify this issue, I promptly reached out to Ledger support via email. Regrettably, I did not receive a response from them. Today, I made another deposit of DOT to my Ledger, only to encounter the same problem of the balance increasing without any corresponding deposit in the history. This is of significant importance to me, as I rely on accurate transaction records for purposes such as calculating gains for tax purposes.
I decided to seek assistance through the "Livechat" feature, and a representative named Alex offered their support. Alex requested the TX ID and advised me to clear my cache, but these measures did not resolve the issue. Subsequently, Alex requested the Ledger CSV file, which I attempted to upload but encountered difficulties attaching it to the chat. Alex then suggested we continue the conversation via email and promptly initiated the transition without explicitly confirming my consent. Consequently, I provided my email address; however, I did not receive any correspondence from Alex.
In my attempt to seek further assistance, I initiated a new conversation through "Livechat." However, as I was in the process of typing my query, an agent abruptly ended the conversation by closing it.
I must express my utmost frustration with the manner in which this situation has been handled. I have been attempting to obtain a resolution for over a week now, and the lack of satisfactory support is highly disappointing.
As previously mentioned, I am not inclined to make complaints. However, I find it necessary to mention that I placed an order for my Stax in September of last year and have yet to receive it.
Given the circumstances, I have proceeded to order Safepal and Ellipal wallets, and I intend to transfer my funds to them. It is disheartening to have to take this course of action after a five-year journey with Ledger.

So Ive had my Nano X for six weeks and I was hoping I would not have to leave a review like this but seriously.... avoid this product at all costs and spend a bit more on the higher end Cold Storage wallet.
Whats good about my Nano X? ...Ive managed to send some BTC, ETH, couple of ERC20s and a few NFTs. Cant send ATOM or SOL, even from the same exchange I sent the other coins from, wallet address not recognised and same when I try using QR code.
Not been able to buy a single token through the Live app on my desktop or mobile which is funny too cuz I select Mastercard and it always changes to Visa and there is not a thing you can do to stop it happening.
Did I mention there have been three software updates in the 6 weeks Ive had the device? Its time consuming and ultimately boring seeing this message every-time I want to look at my portfolio.
Much like the fact the Bluetooth doesn't work with my iPhone. All updates in place and tried all of the extensive trouble shooting pages, much of it outdated and with videos of older versions of IOS.
But what about contacting support I hear you say..... Ive sent three reports with Log details that I saved. Not heard a thing from them. It excuse after excuse, go to the website and they whine they are experiencing a high volumes of tickets.... no wonder really is it?
Ive contacted support on numerous exchanges in the past and got almost instant replies, because it really matters where money is concerned. It seems Ledger don't concern themselves with this.
Expected so much more after all the shill you see online but hey we live we learn.
Your case id is 920592

Your case id is 853427
***I got a reply after a day.... but Im sure it has nothing to do with this review
case id 853427 was indeed addressed last week, I missed that, mostly because it informed me the transactions didn't complete and I was not charged... however using my Mastercard and the obvious bug that stops me purchasing coins because the app directs me to visa payments was not addressed.
case id 892771 has not been addressed
case id 920592 awesome, an updated set of updates because that is exactly what everyone wants in their life. smooth guys. Im gonna give this a try and update the thread.
update from 2 star to one star.... absolute garbage, no support, cant buy or swap on the live app, rarely syncs via bluetooth. Ill be getting a Trezor and transferring all my assets. Waste of time and money

No customer support, you are on your own.
Wish I had checked these reviews sooner. It is not that they have terrible customer support, it is that it doesn't exist.
I ordered one of their products for a present, but they delivered it late, even when I paid for the higher priority. Then when I tried to change the destination address (given that it was in the middle of a trip), DHL told me that there wasn't any problem but that they would need confirmation from the vendor. I tried to contact them, and they never responded. What is worse, days later, when I complained publicly on Twitter, they responded immediately. If there is something worse than bad, customer service is those who answer on social media to look good.
==============
Update after Ledger answer:
Again they care about responding publically to save face when they neglect their customer support system.
Worse, they don't read, given that if they had read, they would have seen that there is nothing to do now.

Avoid at all cost
Avoid at all costs. I purchased a Ledger which wasn't delivered. All contact attempts and tickets to customer service are ignored, literally zero response. Ledger have my money, I have no product, and customer support is non-existant. Be warned - this is also a security concern, when you order a hardware wallet which doesnt show up it either means that it wasnt posted or worse it was taken during transit so someone will know your name and address and the fact that you hold crypto - this is a HUGE risk when shipping and customer service are so poorly handled by Ledger. Case 756980
EDIT 30th DEC: Still no response from Ledger, despite asking for my case number here. I have started a chargeback process instead. All customers considering using Ledger, I would strongly advise against it and seek other products instead. They will take your money and then have zero customer service for any issues you may have.

the worst software ever
i am a very unhappy user of this device. their software is the worst ever. it was designed to be bad i think. it has a lot of bugs. tron addresses must be activated, it means if you want to pay someone, you must first send some trx.
then, more often than not, it gives error "out of energy". a known bug which is partially fixed only on the desktop software, but still gives error 1/5.
If you use BTC, sometimes it takes ages to synchronize and the balance ends up to be incorrect. if you have multiple inputs on your address, good luck! it may take one hour to create the transaction and then fail.
it's a pity because the device is good, but the software is so terrible that should not even be a beta.
this review comes after 2 years of frustation with ledger.

Expect your ledger not working anymore when you get it back from the box after 3/4 years
Short review: Avoid this company. Buy others. (I'm not going to sponsor someone, you can google by yourself, but avoid ledger).
Long review:
These are the reasons why Ledger is not a top company, and should be avoided:
They sold me defeated device turning out it was having several lines of dead pixels in the screen making impossible to read what's written on it anymore. And the company refuses to replace the defeated item because they shield theirself behind the "expired warranty" excuse even if it is a very well known fabric issue that afflicted tons of devices they sold in the past (if you google a bit you find tons of users having this issue).
Plus: I bought 2 ledger nano S in the same order, and both of them had a broken cable into the boxes: the cable were good to turn on the devices, but werent good to let the devices communicate with the PC and Ledger Live application, so I had to use my personal cable to use the items properly.
Plus: in 2019/2020 *for accident* they spreaded all my data on the deep web, belong with all the other customers data who bought a device from their website.
They spreaded everything: name, surname, phone number, street address, email so every thief in the world now knows who's owning a ledger in he's neighborood... be attention if you have one and if your city is plenty of criminals.. they know your address and they know you hide a ledger!
And having learnt anything from that data breach once you contact the support saying that your device doesnt work anymore (even if it has been into the box for the whole life), the first thing they ask you is if you can send them your updated phisical address just in case.... even if they do not do the replacement (they first ask for the updated address, and then they go deep into the details of the order... and of course they say "no Im sorry we cannot process the replacement".. why should they ask the updated phisical address if they still do not know if they need it for processing the replacement?
Plus: When I was speaking with the support, they told me that it is normal that after few years the electronic devices become unusable and need to be replaced. So they are legitimating the defeated items because it's normality.... wooow! it's called "Planned obsolescence ", not "normality".
Plus: the support even told me "yes but when you bought these devices you already took advantage of a discount".. like if buying devices from their website using a promotional discount (it was a blackfriday promo) should legitimate the fact that they can sell the defeated products with planned obsolescence devices, refusing to get their responsabilities when the users raise the problem.
Plus: they did not proposed me a repair or a solution to buy the defeated piece (the screen), what they do it was to give me another discount to shop again on their website but the coupon was only valid if I spend a certain amount on their shop.
I believe they cannot be taken as serious company if their behaviour will continue to be this one.
Very bad customer treatment.
Buy other company's device!

Their customer service is terrible
Their customer service is terrible. In my case I wanted to pay by PayPal and have it delivered to where I was based. Because I used PayPal the system asked for my billing address I then clicked continue and the system decided to also change my delivery address. I had no way to change this, there was no one to contact. So I was stuck with my nano going to an address 300 miles from me where at that time I had someone else staying there. I don't want anyone to know that I have crypto and I didn't want anyone to have access to my nano before I did. I would recommend not buying anything from this company as they don't care about customers security. Remember just a few months ago Ledger got hacked and customers details including addresses were stolen. They also put a big Ledger stamp on the delivery for goodness sake. No wonder they won't let customers write reviews of their company. Let me make it clear after going through a lot of clunky navigation I was aware that Ledger has a ticketing system (a shark business tactic which means basically we will keep you waiting until we are ready). But then how was a system which says 'you are going to wait for 24 hours for a reply' help me when the product will already be dispatched to the wrong address. Incompetent understanding of basic issues like this are worrying.

No support
I sent in a request for help (gambled on the email address, if it is posted, I can't find it) and got the company response saying they had my request and to please not send double requests for the same issue. (Ticket: 552006) That's all well and good. No complaints here.
I waited a few days, then got an email asking me, "How did we do?". Ummm, .... they didn't do anything?? I have searched high and low for any response at all from your company, junk, trash, inbox, spam, I am coming up empty and every turn.
I finally gave up and sent a double request and still have not heard even a peep from them.
After asking Google about reviews for ledger I found that people are getting replies from Ledger on TrustPilot, so I thought I would post here to see if I could at least get some indication that my request is not just going into the big bit bucket in the sky.
It seems obvious to me that the company does not care about customer experience with its product. It is very likely an issue with high-up management not putting enough resources into Support because it is not sexy and seems low priority.
My experience with Ledger here makes me ask myself, I wonder if Trezor does a better job of support? I suspect they are very close to equal in every other way; they really couldn't do much worse with support. Look, I do realize that they are considered number two in the market, but maybe they try harder.

Product not deliverd
Dear all,
On 30-09-2022 I ordered a ledger from France. This company was supposed to send it to my address outside of France. I never received the product or any information on where it may be. Customer support does not provide you with any helpful information. Response time on costumer is horrible. I would not recommend buying their product directly from their website! We are two weeks further I still have no idea where my product is.
Case: 527367 and 502312
As per 13-10-2022
Still no response from the ledger team. I will keep updating Trustpilot until my issue is solved.
As per 14-10-2022
Their colleague Thiago responded that my product had been delivered somewhere in France while I lived in South America. Not very professional!
I called La Poste the organization that is supposed to deliver my product. They are unreachable! Therefore I can't get a status update on my product. Therefore, I called my bank to issue a formal claim against them. I will submit the claim today.
Update 24/4/2025
Ledger received. Happy client after a bumpy ride.

Phenomenal customer support
Pierre-Henri in Order & Shipping has been extremely helpful! Response time within minutes after the initial support ticket was made. I’m stationed overseas, so the shipping address had to be an FPO stateside but then from there sent to another country. I didn’t know how to enter the shipping address to ensure package receipt; providing that information to the shipping team they were able to create my order for me. I really appreciate the help.

Poor hardware
Works good for a year or two then fails. Hardware is very unreliable. Screen fades and eventually becomes unreadable. I suggest looking at alternatives with higher quality hardware. UPDATE: Ledger was quick to address my issues and send me a replacement so they backed-up their product. I hope my issue was an exception to the rule.
