First Ledger device I've ever owned

First Ledger device I've ever owned, never had issues with it since day one. On the other hand I've DCENT that I've used for couple of years, but the problem is that it got a lot of limitations when it comes to connecting to Solana based software wallets.

$20,000 USDT Stuck: Zero help from Ledger Support despite providing technical Logs as proof.

I am extremely disappointed with Ledger’s support (Your case number: 00225455 ,00224290 ,00224359). I have 20,000 USDT stuck in a wallet address (TVZAvWoqsR17Q2UraHsEZDvet4rhUneJ9D) that Ledger Live no longer recognizes, despite it being visible in my logs previously.

Key issues:
1. My 24-word recovery phrase is correct and was tested multiple times.
2. I provided full technical LOGS showing that Ledger Live recognized the account before, but now fails to link it to the physical device for signing transactions.
3. Following Ledger’s FAQ made the situation worse: after deleting the account to re-add it, the software no longer finds the address during the scan.
4. Total silence from support for weeks.

For a company managing high-value assets, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I need a technician to help me find the specific derivation path or software conflict that is hiding my funds. I have provided all the proof, yet no one helps.

Hello Luis,

Thank you for your feedback, and we completely understand how stressful this can be.

From what you described, there are two common reasons an address may not appear after re-adding accounts in Ledger Live:

Different seed or passphrase:

If the device was reset or set up “as new,” it will generate a new set of addresses. Accounts tied to a previous 24-word recovery phrase (or a passphrase/“25th word”) won’t appear.

If you used the Passphrase feature, those accounts only reappear when the exact same passphrase is enabled.

Different account type or derivation path:

For EVM chains, the same seed can generate multiple paths. If the account was originally added under a different path or index, a standard scan might miss it.

What you can try:

Check your seed and passphrase: ensure the passphrase (if used) matches exactly. If you have the older 24-word phrase, try restoring it on a spare Ledger to rescan.

Re-add accounts carefully: select the correct network (e.g., TRON USDT (TRC20)), open the corresponding app, and let Ledger Live scan.

Double-check your address externally—your funds remain on-chain even if the account doesn’t show up.

Usually, a zero balance in Ledger Live means the seed or passphrase doesn’t match the account. Once the correct combination is used, the address and funds will reappear.

We see that your case is being handled by our support team, and we appreciate your patience.

Thank you!

3 pros—3 cons

I’m here to share my personal experience with using Ledger Crypto wallets, I’ve condensed this review into 3 pros and 3 cons. My purpose with this review is to encourage ledger to fix the issues, while recognizing the pros of ledger.

Pros:
1) Ledger devices are very simple to use. Using a Ledger Nano S plus has always been very simple and great to use. No complaints there.
2) Security seems to be top notch, with ledger donjon paying settlements for reporting vulnerabilities, ledger devices stay safer.
3) Ledger makes cold storage for crypto simple for the average user.

Cons;
1) Support for the crypto swap and on ramp platform “Changelly”, Changelly has been widely reported to seize user funds, then demand SOF and KYC, even after providing both, customers report still not easily reclaiming funds without legal battles. To ledger’s credit, they have partially integrated DEX swaps to LL. Against ledgers credit, they seem to remove posts about Changelly victims in their Reddit sub, then remind people that it’s a 3rd party service, however Ledger gets “Referral rewards” in BTC for people using Changelly, which makes it seem financially motivated.
2) Lack of support for all coins. I understand that there is a magnitude of coins people request support, but Monero is currently the 12th largest cryptocurrency (excluding stablecoins) and it seems strange to lack support for it. I understand that it can be used with ledger devices through Monero GUI or cake wallet but native support would be awesome.
3) Lastly I would love if ledger could make a native iPad version of Ledger Live.

Hello Hudson, Thanks for taking the time to share balanced, detailed feedback, this is really helpful. To address each point:

Pros
- We appreciate the recognition on ease of use, security (Ledger Donjon), and making cold storage accessible.

Cons
1) Third‑party services (e.g., Changelly)
- Buy/sell/swap in Ledger Wallet are provided by independent partners, not operated by Ledger. KYC/SOF requests, holds, and dispute handling are managed by the partner.
- We don’t have access to your KYC or the ability to release funds. Referral fees do not change that separation.
- If you or others face blocked funds or suspect abuse, gather evidence and escalate with the provider.

Also, reach out to our support so we can intermediate if needed: https://support.ledger.com/contact-us

We’re continually expanding DEX routing and partner options to provide alternatives.

2) Asset support (e.g., Monero)
Asset support depends on technical, security, and ecosystem factors. Some coins require non‑standard signing flows or privacy-specific architectures that are complex to integrate natively.

You can verify current support and available workflows (native in Ledger Wallet vs. third‑party app with your Ledger device) here: https://support.ledger.com/hc/articles/10479755500573

3) Native iPad app
Noted. Today, Ledger Wallet runs on iPad via the iOS app (scaled). We’re working on ongoing UI and device-compatibility improvements. Also note: iPhone cannot connect to a Ledger device over USB due to iOS limitations; Bluetooth devices (e.g., Nano X, Stax, Flex, Nano Gen5) connect wirelessly.

A couple of safety reminders relevant to your points:
- Only download Ledger Wallet from our official page: https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live
- Always verify transaction details on your device screen before approving.

Thank you once again, and we remain available if needed in the future.

Faulty products, no support, not following privicy regs/breaking UK laws

My experience with Ledger has been a complete failure of service and compliance.

1. Product Quality: The device I received was faulty.

2. Support: Instead of resolving the issue, the support team closed my ticket without communication or a fix.

3. Privacy: Most critically, they have ignored a formal GDPR request.
Ignoring a GDPR request is not just poor service; it is a compliance failure. I expected better from a security company.

Pretty good

Pretty good. So far it's fairly easy to use. I worry about packers getting in and getting my stuff because I wouldn't lose my secret phrase or login. So someone would have to take it for me to have to get the subscription where they say, what if you lose your ID?

Tyvm for the reply . Very helpful. So just divice password and or 24 word phrase.

Thanks for the feedback Shandah! We’re glad to hear you’re finding it easy to use so far 😊

Just to help ease your concern: your crypto is not stored on the device itself, and no one can access your funds without either your physical Ledger device and your PIN, or your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone were to get access to the package or the device alone, they still wouldn’t be able to move your assets.

Regarding identity or subscription-related features, these are optional services designed to help in very specific situations, but they’re never required to keep your crypto safe. The most important thing is exactly what you mentioned: keeping your recovery phrase secure and private.

If you ever have questions or want to learn more about how your assets are protected, our support team is always here to help. You can reach out as explained here: https://support.ledger.com/contact-us

Ledgerpremium is illegaal and criminal busy.

In my previous review, I unnecessarily accused Ledger of stalking and scamming. This accusation should be forwarded to Ledgerpremium. It's a company that pressures people to invest in Bitcoin and the like through them. If you want to leave, they become stalkers. I get calls every day. They're abusing Ledger's good name. I block all the numbers, but they call from a different number every time. Their email address is 'support(@)lpremium.support'. They don't answer, but call you right away to pressure you again. Their website is client.ledgerpremium.com. Their numbers start with +3185208… Don't answer, but block their number and mention cramming. Perhaps Ledger can silence them by using their company name without permission. You've been warned.

Hello J, thank you for sharing this.

These are not Ledger employees. Please be cautious of scammers and impersonators who may contact you via email, direct messages, or even phone calls. Ledger never initiates unsolicited contact with users.

Additionally, neither Ledger nor the genuine Ledger Live application will ever ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. Any person, message, or website requesting this information is without exception a scam. Always follow best security practices to keep your assets safe.
