My advice go somewhere else.

I should have read the reviews before I engaged Leeds Day but they came highly recommended. Awful service, wrong advice and when I questioned how they got to a ridiculous fee for doing nothing they served me a letter before notice. My advice go somewhere else.

Diabolical - avoid!

Absolutely diabolical and would avoid at all costs. My solicitor has been trying to deal with Leeds Day for six months to arrange a simple lease assignment for my business. They have:

1. Turned this into a protracted and unnecessary negotiation (it should a straightforward process), trying to remove the security of tenure rights under the Landlords and Tenants act from the lease.

2. Attempted to increase my ongoing liability for the lease from two years to 15 years!

3. Gave incorrect and misleading information to their client, the landlord. At least when we identified this issue the Trainee Solicitor dealing with us up to that point ‘left’ Leeds Day the next day.

4. Presented us with invoices in excess of the undertakings given and when requested they couldn’t or wouldn’t substantiate them. When challenged further on this they simply reduced their invoice back to the value of the original undertaking. They have been asked on several occasions to explain their costs but have failed to do so.

5. The ‘supervising’ solicitor who took over expressed surprise when she looked at their file and found 281 items, even though she had been on copy of all of them! That was back in June and there have probably been about another 100 email exchanges on it since then and they still haven’t confirmed they are ready to complete.

6. Sent documents to the Landlord for signing that were incorrect and had to be returned, causing further delay. Denied having any knowledge of this on two occasions and finally sent the corrected paperwork back to the landlord two weeks later! We still don’t have confirmation that they are in receipt of the signed documents even though the landlord has confirmed they were completed and sent.

7. Have consistently ignored chasing emails from my solicitor.

This is just a summary. I have lodged a complaint with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (they are members) as I have email and documented evidence to substantiate all of the above.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service.

I used Leeds Day to prepare my Will during a very stressful period of illness. They were understanding, professional and got everything ready for me to sign quickly. Would highly recommend them.

Good, reliable conveyancers

My wife and I used Leeds Day recently for our property sale. The team were communicative, approachable and friendly, plus very knowledgeable. They helped guide us through the transaction to a successful conclusion.

Not very customer friendly

Not very customer friendly and quite arrogant. I went to another law firm who were much more interested in me as a client and understanding what I needed. Second time we have been disappointed by Leeds Day lack of client service. There are better law firms out there.

Having used Leeds Day Solicitors for…

Having used Leeds Day Solicitors for employment and …civil matter.
Having used Leeds Day Solicitors for an employment case, I thought it would be a very simple and straight forward task to ascertain information on who owns the land that the solicitors building resides upon at Godwin House Huntingdon PE29 3BD following a land dispute.
However, think again !
I called them a few times explaining that I was a paying client who had used their services before and gave my name. I explained that PCM - a private parking company had inadvertently issued me a parking control notice and issued me a £60 fine, alleging I was parked upon private land at the site, when I certainly was not. I was parked upon Public Land outside the site boundary and had a UK Land registry map to prove it.
However, despite Leeds Day Solicitors claiming that they are experts on the subject of Conveyancing, Commercial Property, and Commercial Litigation, they claimed that they had absolutely no idea who owned the site, and that there was no way they could find out who did. This beggars belief and somewhat brings into disrepute their competency.
I am certainly not impressed with their lack of professionalism and the manner in which they thought they could just fob me off with an unbelievable and ignorant answer.

I recently had a Will completed by this…

I recently had a Will completed by this company. I requested that the Will be left so future amendments could be made at reasonable costs. Apparently £425 is a reasonable cost for a small single amendment. The reasons for such a high charge left me confused at where the time was being charged to add an additional person.

Really fantastic

Really fantastic! Claire, Skye, and everyone else could not have been more helpful. They went above and beyond to get our sale and purchase through when everyone else's solicitors were useless!

Claire Clark provided us with an excellent service on the sale of our property. She was responsive, answered all our, and our buyers solicitors, questions promptly and efficiently and had an excellent back up team when she was away. I throughly reccomend her services.
