​Review: LEGO Magic in Miniature (Manchester Discovery Centre)

​If you are used to the sprawling scale of LEGOLAND Windsor, the Manchester Discovery Centre might seem small at first—but don't let the indoor setting fool you. It manages to pack the same "brick-built" magic into a much more manageable (and weather-proof!) footprint. We visited spontaneously while in the area, and it turned out to be the highlight of the trip for the kids.
​The Highlights
​The Cast Members: Truly the standout of the visit. Every staff member we encountered was accommodating, high-energy, and great with the children.
​The 4D Cinema: A brilliant, immersive experience. Word of warning: You will get wet! While it was fun for us, if you’re visiting in the dead of a Manchester winter, you might want to bring a hoodie or a towel, as walking back out into the cold damp is less than ideal.
​Added Value: For the price, we felt it was very reasonable, especially since it included four mini-figures for the kids to build and take home. That’s a great souvenir that usually costs extra elsewhere.
​The "Kingdom Quest" Ride
​My daughter loved the "princess rescue" theme of the dark ride. It’s worth noting that the mechanism feels a few years out of date compared to the high-tech rides at the bigger parks, and we actually experienced a brief breakdown while on it. However, the staff handled it well, and it didn't stop the kids from having a blast.
​Final Verdict
​It’s the perfect "filler" activity if you’re in the Trafford area. It offers a bite-sized version of the theme park experience without the three-mile treks between rides.
​Pro Tip: If you're sensitive to the cold, try to hit the 4D cinema at the start of your visit so you have time to dry off before heading back to the car!

Had a great time in Trafford legoland discovery when on the rides and watched the show which are different each time, got to see the characters and play games. some staff could be more fun and kid friendly but other than that had a great time.

I took my kids here last week. It was because of the postcode offer I decided to go. In all honesty I think the postcode offer is worth it however the regular entry fee is too much for what u get.
U would assume entry fee would let u into everything inside the place but it dosent. U have to pay extras like the vr experience.. which lasts about 5 mins u have to pay an extra £7 for.
The cinema was fun & the ride where u shoot the baddies on ur way round although we wished they'd lasted a little longer. Imcnot toing to make this place aound negative as it is a very nice chilled afternoon out with the kids I just think they should reduce the prices a little as I say the postcode offer was worth it which was £15 per person but the original price is far too much for what u get. At the end of ur visit u get out of the lift & theres no escape route to get past the lego shop. It feels like a bit of a trap when ur trying to leave & the kids want something from the huge selection surrounding u 😭 Unfortunately the prices of the lego was crazy & I'd spent enough thay day, I couldn't afford that. Lego sets for £45 £85 £100 & upwards.
I would go again but it would only be if an offer was available. I wouldn't pay full price of 80 90 pounds for me & kids. No way but I paid £45 which yes I'd pay again.
Ps I was shocked at the prices of the keyrings & pictures they sell. I think it was like 25 pounds for a pic & a keyring. I took my own pics I'm not paying that. All of this SHOULD be included in entry fee, that way if I wer paying full price in it may seem worth the fee.

Absolutely waste of money, they have lots of Lego to play with that’s all. Staff is not as friendly as they should be in a children's playing environment. I have no idea why they charge adults so much as there is nothing to do for children never mind adults.

I have been a Lego fan for 55 years. It is with deep sadness that I have to advise you all in the strongest possible terms to avoid this money making scam in the Trafford Centre Manchester. To charge the best part of £50 for an adult and 2 children to spend 1 1/2 hours for the children to play on plastic cars you can find in soft play areas or sit in static models is offensive. The exposure to Lego and making and learning was laughable, there is one thing to be learnt. This will fleece you and give a £1 bracelet kit as if it has merit.

Do not spoil any good thoughts you have about Lego by visiting this Discovery Centre. All you will discover is how far Lego have fallen and totally lost their moral compass. It is not worth any of your hard earned money.

Sad but my honest opinion

My daughter had come home with a 40% off voucher for Legoland discovery centre, we were so excited! We booked for this weekend as she just couldn’t wait. No where on the leaflet did it explain that we had to take the voucher with us. So after driving for an hour and half to get there we were told we either had to come back another day or pay £70 to come in. As my daughter was so excited we had to pay to come in and the man on the door explained that we could mail the voucher and our receipt to get a full refund but I feel like there should be a clear statement on the voucher explaining you should bring it with you as it just states an online digital code. What would have happened if we could not afford the £70 after already paying £40? We would have been sent away with a very upset daughter! And I feel for the people that can’t afford that kind of money!
