Good food, bad customer service
Several of us went in together to purchase more than $300 on gourmet foods for a friend's 50th birthday. I was in charge of placing the order. I emailed with a CSR to be sure the order would be shipped/arrive in time for the recipient's party. We agreed upon a ship date (had to be overnight because of perishable items), with an extra day just in case. I also indicated on the order form that I would like to be notified if any item was out of stock (they offer this as a tick box, along with a box for my email/phone number for contact). Lastly, I indicated that this was a gift and wrote a message indicating that it was from the group.
The arrival date came and went. No box, no email indicating it had been shipped. I contacted customer service and was told it was shipped on the expected *arrival* date, not the agreed-upon *shipping* date. When I forwarded the email exchange and the CSR saw that this was incorrect, she basically said, "sorry, but at least it will come tomorrow!" *three days after the party*
When the box did arrive, two items had been substituted without my approval - one was okay, the other was a duplicate of something I'd already ordered...and then card said it was only from me. Not the group - not the message I'd requested.
The food, once it finally arrived, was quite good. The company does sell good quality items; however, their customer service is severely lacking. There was absolutely NO concern about all that had gone wrong with this order. I guess I should be content with the shrug and half-hearted apology. :-(
