Misleading Information on firm's website– Potential Clients Beware
After searching online for a solicitor to handle a property purchase, we came across the website of Leon Kaye Solicitors. However, upon doing some due diligence, we discovered serious discrepancies between the claims on their website and the information listed on the official Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) register.
According to the SRA register, Leon Kaye Solicitors is currently in the process of closing and cannot take on any new clients. They are only allowed to complete existing cases. Additionally, the register shows that the firm has no employees, apart from Mr. Kaye, the elderly partner, who does not hold a current practising certificate.
Despite this, the firm's website presents an entirely different picture, showing a "team" of solicitors and staff members who appear not to be employed by the firm in reality. This misleading representation could easily give potential clients a false sense of security and trust.
This discrepancy raises serious concerns about transparency and compliance with legal advertising standards. The website's content appears to violate regulations such as the Trade Descriptions Act, as it presents inaccurate and outdated information.
We strongly urge anyone considering using this firm to verify their status on the SRA register first. Transparency and accuracy are essential when choosing a solicitor, and this experience has been a valuable reminder to always check the official register before engaging legal services.
