Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 1,098 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many consumers report issues regarding product quality, noting spoiled or rotten items in fresh produce and bakery goods. Furthermore, purchasers have expressed deep dissatisfaction about rising prices and smaller quantities offered for goods. However, some people mentioned positive interactions, with certain assistants being notably polite, helpful, or kind to others. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that staff behaviour included instances of rudeness, dismissiveness, and poor service during interactions.

Lidl Bingley

Lidl Bingley.
Did my weekly shopping today and was charged TWICE on self check out for the same items. The two amounts were debited to my bank account immediately. Was given explanation this overcharge would be credited back within 4 days. Have never experienced anything like this before from any supplier. Either Lidl is keeping my money or the bank for the next 4 days.

Lidl Kingstanding

Lidl Kingstanding
Kings Road, Birmingham, B44 9HH

The customer service here is the worst I have experienced. Almost every member of staff comes across as rude, unfriendly, and unwilling to help. A simple smile, basic politeness, or respect for customers seems to be missing.

Shopping should not feel uncomfortable, but every visit to this store is disappointing because of the staff’s attitude. Customer service is about treating people with courtesy and making them feel welcome, and sadly this store completely fails at that.

I hope management takes these reviews seriously and provides proper customer service training because the staff’s behaviour is driving customers away.

Bought a silvercrest remote control fan. Broke down after a few months use only just started using it although bought a few years ago. Customer services said out of warranty now even though any electrical product should last a reasonable time. This hasn't. Not fit for purpose.

Lidil store don’t get accused

I went to lidil store Burnley today
One of the workers accused me of apparently walking around the store eating a croissant and apparently giving abuse to staff when apparently my card got declined which isn’t true they band me from the store for no reason I’m waiting for Human Resources to call me back I will go to court to prove it wasn’t me I will so if you go to this store watch you don’t get mistaken for someone else’s mistakes that wasn’t you it’s very disappointing this I will pass this to so many sites cause it’s not fair to get accused of things like this

About COOKED BEETROOT bought in LIDL

I like our Lidl in Tunstall, but one particular product makes me furious every time and I have to throw it away again in a rubbish bin. It is COOKED BEETROOT as said on the packaging. Every time I open the packaging I feel sick. It looks like it is overcooked. Besides, the colour is dirty dark brown which is revolting. When I cook beetroot on my own, it is a bright red colour. I am surprised that this product is certified by RED TRACTOR.

Terrible reward scheme.

Up until Lidl changed it's reward programme I would have given it 5 stars. Now I am very disappointed. The previous reward program was far more customer focused. I use to spend over £250 half way through the month and received a 10% off coupon. I would put this towards one of my big shops and normally saved about £10, plus I received regular free items. Under this new system, there is no 10% off and I have to spend £1000 in order to get a £10 off coupon. Also by using the reward points to get a £10 off voucher, I can receive none of the previous free items. Lidl is no longer the store for me as it now works out more expensive than Tescos. This is a shame and I hope Lidl relooks at its reward scheme because it is now crap 😕

Just been in totton store I think the service today was not up to standard.
The shop assistant was chewing chewing gum and can’t count as my shopping came to a total of £10:03 to which I gave her 2x£10 pound notes egualing £20 and was told I could not leave unless I put something back on the shop floor.
The shop assistant then put my £20 in till she was looking dazed I told her you have just put my £20 in the till.
She tried to work change out and the customer next to me had to tell how much to give me back -£9.97p
I think this shop assistant needs more training

Visited specially.advertised stuff not out all day Thursday reason cited staff shortages

Visited local store specially on a Thursday as many customers do to view the new arrivals.but just blank wall sections.early afternoon too.was told variously oh the stuff hasn't arrived , it's in the back but due to staff shortages won't be unpacked until tomorrow.looked like plenty of staff roving around.was told um oh uh many of them are knocking off in half an hour due to being sick.didnt look sick to me.asked what theme the new stuff was.didnt know .much muttering looking up the website.another beef is by the day of arrival the promo papers have always mysteriously vanished from the stands so you can't refer to articles in them.

30th July @9.50am I asked for assistance as I scanned a sale item and it came up full price I asked for assistance and Alex came up and said you need to scan the cell barcode and not this and I said I did and then after I told her I did again she repeated herself like a parrot Alex listen to the customer because they're right and talk to people how you wish to be spoken to?!

Alex in Hounslow store don't work in customer services if you cannot listen to the customer!

Scammers

I had an activated coupon against a wine priced at £7.45. I discovered after going through checkout that it hadn't been applied. I then wasted a lot of time trying unsuccessfully to get it sorted out. The manager was totally unapologetic and claimed there are two wines with the exact same name (Terre du Midi) and price but different product codes. However he couldn't back that up because they didn't have the other one in stock! Even if that's true it's it's a totally unsatisfactory situation where the company can create decoy products and hope you won't notice you have been scammed. I shall be cashing in my points and going elsewhere.

Lidl, Swalwell -Am not a regular customer but was totally blown away by the high standard of customer care shown by Danielle on the tills this evening that means I likely will be back in near future! Nothing was too much trouble for Danielle who served us professionally and in a friendly, personable manner. A real credit to your team!

Terrible Customer service

Very disappointed in Lidil with the experience I have received. We purchased an Iron in February I contacted the manufacturer who intern told me to contact Lidil , to be then told by Lidil to contact the manufacturer. Then to be told by the manufacturer to Contact Lidil again. I feel the emails are been written by AI . I was of the belief Lidil took customer care seriously. It’s been awful really.

Asked if they had someone who deals with lost property , was told no we don’t have lost property I said so no one ever loses anything here , he then went on his headset for 10 seconds and asked someone who said no! Did not ask me when or my name . That’s the price of low prices no service only interested in selling good bye Lidl never again
