Today I went to Lidl and decided to use the self check out

Today I went to Lidl and decided to use the self check out A MISTAKE. So I started to check out my items using the scan all eas going smooth then error ???? no idea why the lady came muttered and I restarted my process of scanning error lady came muttered this went on and on. At last I got to the end the you need to verify age so I waited my light was flashing red and I waited the hostess passed my machine 3 times did nothing. Then she left the check in machines walked up the aisle had a chat with a colleague. I thought I will pack my purchases into my bags and I waited eventually the lady came back and saw the light and asked if I had paid I explained no and that I had packed whilst waiting for her. To which she grabbed my packed bags and poured the contents back in bay 2 saying you can't pack until you have paid. I paid then was told I could not leave without scanning my ticket to open the gate I couldn't find my ticket she muttered and I asked if I could walk round NO find your ticket was the answer eventually searching all my pockets I scanned my bill and walked out. When I got home I found my tomatoes crushed along with my bananas obviously tinned stuff had landed on them when the lady emptied my bags. This type of service is totally unacceptable and second rate. My advise don't bother using the self check out full stop.

I tried to shop in Lidl in Parthenay on…

I tried to shop in Lidl in Parthenay on New Year’s Eve. There was one till open and 25 shoppers waiting to pay. I had to leave my shopping as it was utter chaos at the checkout with multiple queues forming and no staff in sight. I will not be shopping there again. This shop is by no means customer focused and needs to look at how it treats customers.

Disgusting service

Yesterday 26th November 2025.
I went to lidl in mayenne.i put all my shopping on the conveyor belt. And left two large cases of water in the trolley. I gave the cashier the little sticker from the water. And she could see I had two cases. But she made me lift up both cases to see if I was stealing. I have chronic arthritis. Its very difficult to lift at my age but she did not care. I will never shop. At lidl has long as I live!!!!

unpleasant customer assistant

want to share my experience from a visit to your Dewsbury store on Friday, 22nd August, between around 10:15 and 10:45 am.
While I was there, I saw a staff member—who I think was named Jo or Joanna—who was very unprofessional. She was dressed in short tight jeans and was wearing white socks that were visible. She also seemed to be talking to the security guard and making offensive comments about customers and other workers. Some of these comments were in polish, and as being polish myself, I was really shocked and disappointed by the derogatory words she was using about other workers in store and customers. security guard was just laughing along, which made it even worse and he needs to be reported to the company he works for too.
Her attitude and behaviour made my shopping experience uncomfortable, and I feel this is not acceptable.

Avoid the Parkside greenhouse…

Just erected our new Parkside greenhouse but sadly had to improvise as parts were missing from the box and the plastic joints kept splitting while we were inserting the metal rods so had to keep stopping to tape the splits up. Finally got the greenhouse up and the cover on, only to spot a tear where the zip at the front should close. This is the first time we have been so disappointed with a Parkside product.

Lidl/Temu scam?

It is difficult to know whether Lidl is responsible for what appears to be yet another "if it is too good to be true..." scam. I ordered a recliner from a Temu/Lidl warehouse surplus sale. According to tracker it has been delivered. It has not. The I have spent hours trying to obtain an answer from Temu and Lidl without result.

I think the conditions of veggies are not the best and It happened to me to buy some fish and I was very very disappointed to find many very tiny strange blue pieces of s kind of plastic/paper in the fish!!!!I think they should take much more care about how food is packaged to avoid bad things like this!!!!!Besides prices too high.

Terrible customer service - 65€ gone

I ordered four boxes of wine glasses and a kettlebell. Upon delivery day no one came. I tried to get in touch with both Lidl and the delivery company - no one replied. The day after (me still waiting at home in case the delivery guy would show up), Lidl responded that I should click “trace&track”-link. Which showed that the delivery will arrive —- yesterday. Kept trying to get hold of someone who could tell me what the problem was and when my things would arrive. No one came back to me. After a couple of days Lidl let me know that my parcel had gone back to their warehouse because things had been broken. They said I would be reimbursed in a week or two. Today I was reimbursed. For the wineglasses - not the expensive kettlebell. When I informed them about this they demanded I should fill out some very important form in which you are allowed to make no mistakes (hence the attached extra form to explain the first form). I was really annoyed and asked why this was necessary and I only got replies that were like “if you refuse to do this we will not help you”. This was their answer also to why they could reimburse 4/5 of my order but not the last remaining item. I have been a Lidl customer for many years, I just now started to use their web shop but after this experience I will not use it again. They have cheated me out of 65 euros (since I will probably not manage to fill out the form 100%correctly since they also refused sending an English version).

Lidl Albertville

Lidl Albertville: no customer toilets, no toilets anywhere near the shop - every time I go there I see small children using the car park as a toilet, it is a health hazard! Other supermarkets have customer toilets and it makes life easier for female customers with children and old people too.

Lidl Croissants are smaller AND cost 50% more…

My wife and I have croissants and pain chocolats for Sunday breakfast, and we look forward to them all week. Until recently, I reckoned that the best value ones were at Lidl, and we recommended them to everyone.
Two weeks ago we went to our local Lidl, and I noticed that they fitted into the paper bag much more easily. I thought nothing more about it until I put them into our oven to warm them. In the past, it has always been difficult to squeeze them into our baking tray. This time it was really easy, and there was a significant amount of space for several more. Lidl croissants have increased in price by 50% over the last couple of years, AND they are a lot smaller. So, last weekend we went to our local boulangerie, and theirs are the normal size which only just fit into our oven. So, that's where we will be going for our weekend breakfasts in future. In fairness, I contacted Lidl, and they sent me a voucher - but I would much prefer them to return their pastries to the original size!
