Horrid experience

Ordered my dress, paid $500 au dollars for it. They sent me a dress that was made incorrectly. Completely wrong! I contacted them and they agreed that they would refund, but I had to send the dress back at my own expense ($70 au). They received the dress then said they would give me only a partial refund ($275 au) as the dress was custom made, although on their refund policy it states 'refund if style is incorrect'. They now have the dress and half of my money. Ultimately they have stolen from me as I have nothing to show for it. I have proof and am happy to email it through to anyone who wants to see it for themselves. I am currently seeking to mark the transaction on my credit card as fraudulent activity.

Unacceptable quality, absent customer service. A borderline scam.

I ordered a wedding dress from LightInDreaming. I sent them my measurements and expected a thusly-tailored dress to my residence in Estonia within 15 days, as claimed on their website. The first disappointment with LightInDreaming was to receive the dress only on the 34th day after my order — the dress had not even left their premises by the fifteenth day.

Immediately having opened the box I understood that this dress was not the same design as the one I ordered. Instead of the attractive lace decoration advertised in the picture, a hand-cut sheet of lace was lazily attached to the top of it. Cheap-looking glass beads adorned the dress in several places, also clearly not present in the picture. Most egregiously, despite my measurements being correct and unlike the tidy, reserved fastenings visible online, this dress had a line of buttons extending far below my waist and onto my buttocks. Every detail on this dress was obviously a corner cut, an error, or at the least a significant departure from the original design. It was not remotely attractive.

LightInDreaming claims in their terms and conditions that you can send the dress back under certain conditions (read on) if you contact them within two days of receipt. I informed them promptly that I would require a return address. No response. A day later I called them, then again two days after that. No response on any front.

I finally received a reply from their customer support ten days after my inquiry -- they informed me that, in fact, they would not accept any return as the dress had been tailored to my measurements ("Any tailored dress cannot be returned."). There is no mention of this in their terms, which (albeit in poor, ambiguous English) suggest only that they were not liable for mistakes in the provided measurements. In this case, the measurements were fine, but the quality and fidelity of the product were unacceptable. Nevertheless, they refused my refund.

Given the excruciating waits between customer contacts, I eventually ate my $300 purchase and will simply agree never to do business with them again. Based on the poor quality and nonexistent service I received, I cannot recommend LightInDreaming to anyone.
