I am currently staying at Lopesan Costa…

I am currently staying at Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa and I just arrived last night and already serious problems have occurred problems the reception staff are not keen to resolve.

Just arrived for my two week family holiday and overall the staff are pleasant except for the attitudes and care of the receptionist. We have three rooms in our party one next to the stairs and lifts so I can hear everyone coming and going all day and all night. My first proper day and I haven’t spelt and spent the day looking at alternative rooms which are 2-3 floors away from my family and on the other side of the hotel. All of which the hotel think is acceptable. Then a receptionist said said I could be downgraded if I would prefer which was rude, condescending and after paying thousands of pounds for this holiday was unhelpful.

My delux view room is next to the stairs and lift and currently looks at concrete and the staff implied I should be grateful for the view and that the other rooms they offered should be fine.

After two years of not being able to go away and spend thousands on this holiday I would expect the hotels customer service to be better and more helpful, the level you would expect from a 5* hotel.

One of the alternative room options they should me had a strong smell of smoke and drains but again the staff weren’t interested.

Overall it looks like I won’t be sleeping this holiday, because I either get separated from my family, stuck next to the stairs or downgraded.

Don’t stay at Kumara Serenoa by lopesan hotel if you are afraid of COVID-19!

My mom and I are currently staying at Kumara Serenoa by lopesan hotels. In it self the hotel is good, the facilities, food and price, but the employees have no clue on how to give their customers a good experience staying on the hotel. Neither are they strict when it comes to COVID-19. We choose the hotel because of the section on their homepage on COVID-19. When we get here, it turns out that minimum off what the homepage says is true. Many of the hand sanitizers doesn’t work and guests staying at the hotel aren’t wearing gloves when going to the breakfast buffet. Because of other guests not caring about COVID-19, my mom and I decided to put 2 sun beds in front of our room terrace instead of the pool area, so we shouldn’t be close to the other guests. The female manager then comes after 2,5 day with a very bad attitude telling us to leave the sun beds and that the only possibility is to be close to all the other guests although the hotel is not fully booked and there’s no lack of sun beds. We explain the situation which she doesn’t understand at all and demand us to leave the sun beds.

It’s a mystery for me how you can treat your guests this way, and still have a business. I’m definitely never coming here again, and I can’t recommend it either.

A little bit of paradise

Stayed in February for 10 nights at Lopesan Melonares, Gran Canaria. Beautiful hotel. Large but doesn't seem like it because it's so spacious. Very family friendly. Hotel has six rooms suitable for mobility problems ( i.e. Wheelchair) with walk in shower, etc. Room was spacious and easily manoeuvrable. Sliding glass doors opening onto private ground floor terrace with table, chairs and facility for hanging wet swimsuits. Furniture getting a little tired but very functional. Most rooms seem to have fairly long walks to dining rooms and public areas. We arrived as UK was suffering ' beast from the east' and my husband felt cold as the Canary Islands felt the tail end of it. A heater was immediately procured and placed in our room. Heating is never normally needed. Hotel staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you. Dining rooms are the same and the food is amazing. Lots of wonderful shopping and restaurants in the hotel and on the promenade. Hotel water is 2 Euro 50 a bottle but as little as 50 cents in the supermarket. Pools are spectacular and one is heated and has a facility and assistance for disabled. No fighting for sun beds, there are hundreds and little cafe / ice cream parlours tucked in amongst the palm trees. Paradise. There are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms which I found surprising for a 5 star hotel. I hope they change this.. The grounds are beautiful and kept in an immaculate condition. Evening entertainment provided . Good but not intrusive in rooms. Checking in and out superbly efficient.
