I ordered a belt sander which was…
I ordered a belt sander which was delivered promptly, on taking it out of the box it fell apart, it had obviously been shipped in a broken condition. Spoke to customer services at Lumberjack, they were very helpful just needed a few pictures of the damage and sent me a replacement. The replacement works at it should but does seem to get extremely hot and gets difficult to hold with the heat being directed at your hands, so at the moment I'm not so sure that it will last long or set on fire. Watch this space.

Thanks for your feedback. Normally, in the instance of the machine getting too hot, this can mean one of a few things.
-There is too much pressure being applied on the material, creating more friction and burning. Try to not push the sander down, let the belt do the work, applying additional force will not do this.
-The sanding belt is worn and taking extra force to conduct any sanding effectively. Replace the belt if it is clogged with dust or resin or smooth
-Ensure that the dust collection is being used, and that the air vents are not being clogged
-If the belt wears quickly, you may need to adjust your belt tracking, again incorrect tracking can cause friction and burns and overheat the machine
-The machine is being used at a continuous rate for more demanding jobs, if this is the case, try to give the machine a rest to cool down.
If the machine is getting hot when it is not under any load or simply being switched on without application on material, please contact us directly at sales@toolsave.co.uk and we can get this resolved for you

I recently had a minor problem with my compressor.
I recently had a minor problem with my compressor, I messaged Sharna at Lumberjack tools and as I live in driving distance I took it in the next Day. I introduced myself to Sharna and we had a word with Chris the technician who agreed to repair while I waited.
Repaired in record time and back home. Sharna and Chris are both very pleasant people and a credit to Lumberjack Tools.

A cracking little bandsaw!
I am really pleased with this little bandsaw; I am a modelmaker so only needed the 8" benchtop model. It went together really well - 30 minutes to assemble and another 30 minutes to set up the blade tension and adjustment. I've never used a bandsaw before so was completely new to it, and I was very pleased that the first cuts I made (ripping and crosscutting) all came out dead square and really neatly finished! The rip fence, although it is only secured at one end, is dead solid - not a millimetre of flex once you've locked it. Also, the mitre fence slides easily in the slot and, used for 90 degree crosscuts, was absolutely spot on! I'm not easily impressed as there are a lot of rubbish tools about, but this little beauty is gorgeous! Thank you!

Good quality tool but...
The pocket hole Jig is a great little tool which comes with all the accessories you need. And I am already buying some more pocket screws to build some projects.
I've knocked the rating on three design issues. 1, the side bars (which need to be removed to store) are held in place with a tiny grub screw making it fiddly to assemble and disassemble. Using a large grub or knurled screw would make this easier. 2, the clamping mechanism could use a knurled nut to lock the clamping butt in the right place. This would really simplify adjustment. And 3, add a more detailed resolution scale to allow adjustment for different wood thickness. Setting the correct thickness is critical to operation and the scale is non-linear.
