I recently bought a mountain equipment earthwise jacket from them I didn’t at the time realise that the jacket was a sample it does mention on their site that the jacket is a sample but it is so minuscule that I never saw it I would never have bought the jacket from them if I had the delivery was prompt and well packaged but on taking the jacket the first thing I noticed was a long white label on the inside of the jacket and amongst other things it says salesman sample when I tried the jacket on the fit was excellent but when I tried to do up the zip it became tangled in a lot of loose threads it took about twenty minutes to untangle it on other parts of the jacket more loose threads plus quite a lot of feathers escaping when I contacted magic mountain they seemed reluctant to accept a return asking for photos and warning me if I return it and they find nothing wrong with the jacket then it will be returned to me I’m well within my thirty days I was under the impression that I could return the jacket it’s only been tried on it has its tags and bag truly awful experience with this company so buyer beware

There are some genuine bargains on this site and everything is from top quality brands.

However the customer service leaves something to be desired. I placed an order and when it arrived the item didn't quite match the description: it was stated it had a removable hood when in fact it did not.

That wasn't a deal breaker for me so I wasn't going to return it, but I did drop them a polite email so they could at least correct their website. A month later and they haven't acknowledged my email and their website is still wrong! They have however sent me two emails asking me to leave a product review on their site. Why would I write a product review for them when they can't be bothered to answer my email?

I’m a big fan of the Mountain Equipment brand. Over the years I’ve bought numerous ME items & a number have been from this online store. I’ve always been absolutely delighted with the Magic Mountain experience. The prices are excellent, the customer service is fantastic & the dispatch time is exceptionally good.
If you are looking for high quality, genuinely ME goods at a fraction of the RRP then this is definitely the place to shop.

Ordered a Mountain Equipment Soft Shell Jacket from Magic Mountain at a fantastic price. I ordered it late on a Friday evening and it arrived early on a Tuesday morning to Northern Ireland so pretty much within 24 business hours, the website I found very easy to navigate. I'll definitely be back and would recommend to anyone. Thank you to the staff
working hard behind the scenes.

The worst company I have ever come across the courier that they have used sent my parcel to a similar different address,

Do not use magic mountain, they don’t care about your parcel just about taking your money and not looking after you and leaving your goods with a shoddy delivery driver.

Go to a different shop online.

I already had a Sprayway lightweight fleece in a size L. I saw a Sprayway fleece on-line and as it was offered with a 5% introductory discount and naturally as it was Sprayway, I ordered a size L as I thought the size would not vary from the product I already had. When I received the product I was disappointed that not only the sleeves were longer on the new product but it was more of an XL size, rather than a size L!
Suffice to say I am far from happy that I had to pay £5.00 delivery and a £5.50 return charge. So basically out of pocket by £10.50 because the size on the product was not true to fit. I'll never use this company again.

I was a bit nervous about ordering having read some whinges about return postal costs and some other nonsense about tracking. However I figured the risk of paying for a return was fair enough as why should companies have to soak up that cost on top of everything else, plus the boots I wanted were less than half the RRP, saving £75 even with postage. Anyway, I ordered them on Monday evening and received on Wednesday first thing - absolutely brilliant service and exactly as described. I wouldn't hesitate to use again. A great UK based company and one which we need to support in these challenging times. Thank you.

I was a bit unsure about the company before ordering. But now I wouldn’t think twice. Well worth it, 50% off everything. Quick 2 day delivery. And all products just like in a Go Outdoors. 5 star - would use again

Remarkably uninteresting. Prices no lower than before. Choice dismal, all the stuff that isn’t shifting and none of the clothing that is.

Allowed ourselves to be ‘hoicked in’ with some truly spectacular offers in the past, but now the deals are pedestrian and ordinary.

Prompt and efficient ordering and delivery.

However, there are insufficient photos, reviews and size guidelines about some of their products to enable a fully informed decision, and, sadly, the returns process is not user friendly.
A printout re returns is sent with the invoice, and one is directed to use their online "returns-exchanges" page.
The following is from their online information re returns:

"Are there any charges for return?
You will be charged a subsidised returns fee of £5.50.
This will be deducted from the value of the goods you are returning to us.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable
You are responsible for the charges of the return shipping"

"How soon will I get my refund?
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied original method of payment, within 10 working days."

One also has to choose a "convenient Collect Plus drop off location" to return an item.
There appears to be no information about return charges if an item is faulty.

Having just tried to initiate a simple return online, it now appears that my order number is not recognised, and so I will have to ring this company.

Not only is this returns process time consuming, unfair and off-putting, it doesn't appear to work!

Surely a simple returns form and label could be included with shipped items, and thus a correct amount of returns postage deducted, if necessary, from one's refund - to save all this hassle?

Bought two running jackets from here, they were a bargin compared with other sellers. Delivered within 48 hours too! Will definitely check this site for sportswear in future. Thank you.

Excellent as always. I have dealt with ME/MM since it was in Stalybridge, then Glossop. Can't fault the products or service. It was one of the first companies to tackle the ethical down issue and its wider commitment to fair trade is also very encouraging in today's throwaway society. No problem with delivery or enquiries. 10 out of 10 all round.

Not impressed. I've paid money for an order but can't track it or see any info about it - they try and force you to install an 'app' on your mobile which asks for all sorts of access to personal info - wants full access to read all emails!! I don't think so!! Not sure what's wrong with just letting people see and track their orders online on the actual website like every other website? Really dodgy practice and probably against UK data protection laws.

They charge £5.50 to make a return. Absolutely shocking customer service

I've made a number of purchases from MM over the years and on the one occassion they made a stock mistake it was quickly resolved, any returns have been processed quickly and overall they've been a great store to deal with.

No customer services, i dont get any reply and there was no confirmation email sent to me after i placed an order. I cant track my order, i believe i simple got ripped off!!!

Poor customers service,they don't reply to emails or answer phone,take money out of your bank account and no updates,7 days and nothing, avoid this company,shop with a company that delivers in time and has a customer service,I have tried dozens of times to contact them ,they don't care about their customers, please don't shop with this company

Got a Mountain Equipment jacket at a really good price and it arrived super fast. Very happy about the qualit of the product and service!
